Do you miss Highschool

Do you miss highschool and the good memories you had when you were in high school.

High school was great. So much free time, not so much work. But now is good too.

No. Not at all. I miss college. I miss stupid Friday night parties, I miss studio time, I miss being able to show up to class in roller blades and play Pokemon. I miss field trips to collect dirt/fungi/take photographs/explore the graveyard. I miss going to the gym at 830pm to catch the judo class, I miss Saturday clubs in the basement lecture halls. I miss having friends.

Ah yes, I definitely miss college too. Also a ton of free time, except way more adventures than in high school, a ton of free food, and so many more great friends... I can't wait to hang out with some of them in about a month.

A definite hell no for me. I do not miss high school one bit. I actually wish there had been programs that existed so I didn't have to go through the whole ordeal without the disdain of something like a GED. Both my brothers got out of high school by doing middle college. That program wasn't available until 1 year after I graduated :(

I miss college though. I think I almost went into shock when it was all done because I was so used to going.

Yes and no. Yes, because of the people I hung out with and the carefree days of being a high school student. No, because it is way harder to be a high school student in my county than it was when I was in high school. So to keep my high school memories alive at heart, I joined my high school's alumni association. [:)]

The only thing I miss is band, but it was only truely great my freshman/sophomore year. After that i was ready to get out of there.

There are aspects I miss.

I miss marching band, drama club, teen institute (like a teen leadership group, it was actually really fun), dances and stuff like that. I also miss some of my favorite teachers and do keep up with them on facebook though. I also miss my 90's fashion and glad to see that some of it is coming back in style. But it's not the same. I also miss my metabolism and for some reason eating the gross mashed potatoes with snot green gravy. O_O Though if I ate it now, I'd probably be grossed out by it because it was probably powdered potatoes and not real potatoes.

What I don't miss are the pimples, teenage hormones, backstabbing, rude and mean people, sitting in boring classes being forced to memorize things for a test that you don't really retain, homework, drama with boys, and all the drama at home. I can live without that.

*Goes advanced* I need a bigger font for this:

HELL NO

Highschool was a living hell. I wouldn't go back if I were paid.

chickenfists 03-06-2016 09:20 PM

Yes and no.

Highschool was pretty much garbage. The kids were horrible, of course, but I don't blame them. I blame the education system, and how social progression has only really just started picking up in the past few years. But looking back at it, it was technically a much easier time. However, when you're a teenager, it doesn't feel that way. You're like 15-17 when people start telling you that you need to get your crap together and figure out what you want to do for your future.

15-17 year olds... like... what? How do you expect them to do that when they barely know what taxes are, or how to drive, or are even old enough to rent their own apartment? That's on top of homework, dealing with the drama of friends, and maybe having a part-time job too... That's HUGE unhealthy stress amounts.

So in the working sense, I would love to be back in highschool, living with my parents, and dealing with useless physics homework. But in regards to the social aspect, The Wandering Poet is 100% correct. Hell no.

High school sucks. Would not recommend it.

Ava The Vampire 03-12-2016 10:16 PM

Not really.
I sometimes miss being able to wear cool outfits and I sometimes miss my art class,
But other than that I don't miss it, but I only took my first year of high school at a traditional school, then the rest I took online.

After the torment riddled hell that was primary school, secondary school was an absolute joy for me. I had real friends for the first time ever, and i was actually good at pretty much everything i did. I look back on it really fondly.

Chexala 03-14-2016 04:32 AM

I miss having all my friends in one place every day. That was so convenient. For the most part, my best friends from high school are still my best friends, and college was in many ways much more lonely than high school was. Kinda of the opposite of what a lot of other people here experienced. Now I have to actually plan to see my friends, and a lot of them live far away. [:(]

Other than that? I don't really miss it. Objectively speaking, I had fewer responsibilities then, but emotionally that doesn't matter. I felt just as busy and stressed out back then as I do now; I was just concerned with different things. Sometimes I look back on high school and think, "dang, I had it so easy, why did I have suck a big stick up my butt all the time?" But I know that someday I'll look back on my current worries and think much the same thing. *shrug*
