Well it's interesting because she's replacing former president Andrew Jackson the slave owner. and you probably know who Harriet Tubman is from elementary school social studies class. Plus, she's a woman of color.

Honestly the only thing I remember from elementary school was most of the 151 pokemon...

Woman of color... ehh... I don't honestly pay attention to color of a person's skin. One color is simply hard to see at night and the other is like a blinding beacon during the day

Considering all the people are white males right now, I'd say this is a step forward for society.

I think this is awesome!

I mean, we see money every single day.... Our currency should reflect the country, in my opinion. Frankly, America is not just white men. It is women, it is people of color.

Also, the US bills seem to never get updated. It's nice that you're finally getting a new look. Are they still going to be paper?

I hope not... the bills we have get ruined so easily. We should definitely be looking for alternatives. After all, I think most dollar bills actually have trace amounts of cocaine on them... so you can imagine what else they have. They're filthy.

I had heard about Harriet Tubman getting on the $20, but I didn't realize so many other people were being added to other bills. This is great!

I like the new representation and I like the thought put into each new bill, possibly the 5 the most.

I imagine currency will still be paper because of the whole plastic currency debacle japan went through. I could go for something more like Canadian currency. holographic stuffs is awesome.

Plastic currency debacle? I hadn't heard of this.

It wasn't Japan now that I think about it. But I cant remember which country it was. Polymer banknotes aren't new, something went wrong with the initial launch in one country. It wasn't a fault of the currency but rather updated systems and getting people to know how to spot a fake. Overall it's supposed to be harder to counterfeit than the paper currency and I think that issue would happen anywhere. Canada's been doing well with their plastic currency. I don't believe they've had any successful counterfeit operations yet.

Things move slow here though.. and are more complicated. I'm sure there's some odd lobbying group trying to make sure we stick to paper just like the zinc people make sure they keep their contract to make pennies (which stores can legally refuse to accept as long as your told beforehand which is accomplished by a small sign on the door or at the register).

Huh, I didn't know about any of that. Here we've had plastic bank notes for as long as I can remember. We're actually getting a style redesign right now, but no face changes I don't think.
