Come chat please
Hello, I'm Fireonix and it's been a while since I've been here. I was hoping to chat with anyone who's currently online. Any topics are welcomed.
---------- Post added 05-17-2017 at 12:02 PM ---------- I used to be heavy into rping on here before life got in the way. I think I might try to get back into that on here. Does anyone have any original characters they like to rp? It doesn't have to be based on any fandoms. |
|
Yes I did. Lol I got prison and cannibal references out of that comment. I am trying to get a few others I know who are members to come back. Wait and see though.

Yeah. It does seem a bit dead around here. Do you know if this site has a twitter or something?
---------- Post added 05-17-2017 at 06:45 PM ---------- Hello Menewsha! Is anyone up for some chatting? I'm from upstate NY where's everyone else from? Is anyone busy with finals or are you out or school/college? I graduated from college a few years ago now and I'm self employed. How about anyone else? Please don't linger in the shadows come out and hang some. |
*rolls in*
Well hello! I'm from north-central Montana myself and have a part-time job ( hoping to pick up a second part time job) and have a myriad of craft hobbies that will hopefully soon be earning me at least a little extra money. |
Welcome back!
I'd be willing to RP if you're okay with a paragraph or two at a time. I have trouble writing long-winded roleplay posts. |

Well, I don't know if I would call what I do art, but I loom knit ( can make pretty much everything, but have mainly been focusing on stuffed animals lately), loom knitted scalemaille, and chainmaille jewelry. I would like to also learn chainmaille and scalemaille clothing/armor techniques. And I plan on learning to sew and also needle knit in the next few years.
|
That's cool. Some of the things people are able to do on a loom is just wow. Are you on Esty or something?
|
Don't have anything in my Etsy account currently. (Waiting on a friend to get high-quality product pictures.) But I do have a shop. Lately I've just been taking custom orders in person. Which there really haven't been many of.
Basically, I fail. XP |
I don't know what it takes to start and keep up on an Esty store but I would imagine it takes some work. If you keep at it you'll start getting traffic. High quality pictures will help but just to get started pictures in general help.

Etsy seems like a good idea, until you see that they take a portion of your sales.
Fire, not sure if anyone answered you, but yes, Menewsha is on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and something else, but can't remember right now. There is actual something in the announcements about having Menewsha take over the internet, if you are interested in the spreading the word about this place. |
Thanks Queen I saw that after I asked and followed on twitter.

Oh I see. :) the best of luck to you

Thanks! I need to craft faster and build up more stock really before I get too into Etsy anyway. Especially since my stuffed animals will probably all sell out at a craft show in the fall. But if I can get them all photographed, I can open up some custom order options on Etsy.
|
That's awesome. At least from the few craft shows I've been to it seems kind of competitive between some crafters. I hope you do well.
|
Well, the one I do is hosted at my work place it's the only one I've ever participated in and, because of the way it's run, all the crafters are mostly pretty anonymous. I was actually the only person with knit style stuffed animals (dragons only at the time) and all but one of them sold.
And I've gotten a lot of interest recently just from people who have seen me working on them around town. |
That's cool. There's a huge market for all things dragons. I don't follow the market but I would imagine that unless someone shows up selling something similar you'll clean up at that sale. Even if someone else is selling dragon merch it's quality that matters too. You've already sold some so it must be good.
|
The only thing that people even have maybe negatively commented about my dragons is that they don't have tails. But given the cutesy nature of them, I don't really think they much of one.
I need to really work faster though. All I have made up or mostly finished are 4 dragons, 1 fox, and 1 pig. |
Yeah making each other from scratch is time consuming and takes longer when it's not the only thing you're doing with your time.
|
Yeah. It can really take up a lot of time. And it never fails, I always assume I have plenty of time until I get down to like the last possible day that I have to get it done and then stay up half the night in a panicked rush trying to do as much as possible.
I have a couple other animals I want to make this year, beyond that, my realistic goal is to get a minimum of 3 of each animal done for the craft show. Which, for the animals I have done and in progress just means I need to make 2 foxes and a pig. And I'd have 9 animals total to sell which is approximately a minimum profit of $130. And gosh, do I ever sound boring right now... |
Would it make sense to have small posters made up one for each animal you make so that after you sell out people can put orders in for the one they want? Or is that too much work? Just a suggestion really unless you already do something like that.
|
Well, this particular craft fair doesn't allow us to do that. But, being an employee of the place that runs it, what I can do is maje a bunch of business cards and (because my one friend will probably direct people to me) give them those so they can contact me for custom orders.
