I drove my beetle to the beach today and i was determined to reverse park it even though the spabe of the parking suggested parking it nose in first :'D
I actually parked it quite well!!
then i locked it with the blippy thing on my keys and felt like a BOSS!

Yeah wasnt happy about it, but wasnt particularly devastated about it either, it needed a LOT of work done to it.

@Keo: Ah, man. I still feel badass locking my car with the remote and I've had mine for two years.

@fate its just because its an old car and its not supposed to have electric modifications. :3

I like classic cars, but I'd never want to have to open and lock one with a key all the time, so it's awesome your car has that. Power windows, too...that's a good thing.

Yeah well we drive on the wrong side of the road so you need a wrong sided steering wheel too ;)

Yeah my car locks with the blippy thing when i alarm it but if I don't want to alarm on (don't tell anyone but i dont bother when its outside my house ;);) ) I have to lock my door with the key and the other door locks too.

I still have the crank but behind it is electronic, I want the car to look completely normal

my bottle called it "go green" but that doesn't really describe the shade. What colour do you think it is?

I don't think I could drive if I went somewhere that you drive on the left side of the road (so basically anywhere besides the U.S.). I'd kill somebody when I tried to turn into the wrong lane. It's just too ingrained in me to drive on the right.

I could probably get away with not locking my car outside my house, but I'm not about to try it.

It looks like it just needs to be called emerald green. Green nail polish never fails to stain my nails a disgusting color.

its only the UK, Japan, Ireland(?), India, Australia, New Zealand. So basically anywhere owned/ has been owned but Britian in more recent times. And then Japan must just like the left :D

EVERYWHERE else drives on the right the entire of Europe drives on the right. O_O

I pretty much knew that, but I didn't think all of Europe drove on the right. I thought there were a few more oddballs in there. Still, I'd do somebody in if I tried to drive outside of the U.S.

That's different--my car won't lock without activating the alarm.

oh pretty much the entire earth drives on the right. the UK is the weird ones. we only drive on the left because when they were trying to work out which side to drive on all the posh people who could afford to drive found it easier on the left because thats where all their places were? idk.

Which is why I imagine that you dont get many old old beetles in right hand drive (drive on the left), because they were around the time of hitler. In germany they drive on the right.

oh well I have a valet switch so I can make the alarm turn off and the locks both lock mechanically.

Looked back a few pages, everything... is purple! Not that that's a bad thing ^^.

It was, they're really fun little cars. I'm hoping to get my new (well, new to me!) 240sx in the following week or two. A 1989-94 S13. I'm saving up all my little pennies and bits to pay for some goodies. Just want to continue to have a fun little car to take to drift events, the car meets, and for autocross/racing.

Or maybe you guys had a left handed king at the time and he was stubborn. Seriously, though, people from Spain speak with a lisp because one of their kings was gay back in the day. Not making that one up.

I wish the United States would switch sides on the entire "driving on the right" deal. Sure, it would cause the utter collapse of America's road, train, parking lot, postal, and postal infrastructure but at least we could have all the imports we wanted!
