Oh how I hate my name...it is Krista. Pet name to Kristina meaning Follower of Christ.
For one, I have always hated my name since as a nickname people thought it prudent to call me Krissy...which is just eew. Now that I am older I'm Nihilistic so it irks me a bit to have a name derived from religion. - _- Oh and I don't even look like a Krista....I have no idea what my parents were thinking when they named me... At least my last name sounds like a nickname, so people no longer call me Krissy, or Kris...only by my last name now. ^ ^ |
Hmm, my real name is Eden, but I don't like it much xD; (as in.. the garden of Eden). My mother had no religious intention with my name, but her favourite soap star was named Eden xD; And she's obsessed with soap operas so I was stuck with the name.
I go by Mika (though it's not pronounced as the Japanese spelling. It really threw my japanese teacher off xD) and I commonly use the name Mikaeden (mih-kay-dehn) when with friends. Now days though, it's very common for everyone to call me Tetsu (in real life too! yes xD) Which I don't mind at all :3 I've become very fond with my username--and even my real name is catching on a bit now that I work--I'm always hearing it xD; Sometimes I forget it's my name though and forget to answer back xD; |

I posted in this thread earlier, thinking what my name meant, but I couldn't really find anything because my name is slightly unique. So I asked my Mom, and she said she named me after Salem, Massachusetts. But my Dad wouldn't allow that so she simply changed the "S" to a "K". |

My real name is Rose. I think it's pretty much a given what my name means. My mom was gonna name me Roxanne when I was born, but my aunt changed it to Rosanna at the last minute. Thank God. I just don't see myself as a "Roxanne". I'm perfectly happy with "Rose". :3

It's a super-common name where I come from, even though it has Dutch origins. It means 'girl', 'small lady', lil' woman'...'Fem', from 'woman' (obviously) and 'ke' as the 'extra', as having the 'y' after an English name (a lot of Belgian girls have names ending on the 'ke', like: Silke, Wiske, Anke, Maaike, Elke,...etc...). I don't know the correct term for such a thing. Anyway...hence the '-chan': which comes from the dialect version of my name ('Femtjen'), made easy to pronounce/read for outsiders.
