the mods on gaia acting like assholes?
i really think they do.
a mod banned me for commenting hi's profile. the note was quite amusing also "Be carefull on who you comment" the only thing i said was "you look like a 12 year old" a mean, the mods on gaia clearly abuse their power. i really feel like hiring someone to crash the whole site. they are a bunch of idiots on a powertrip :roll: anyways with that being said, discuss :) |

I've never had a bad experience with any mod on Gaia. They've all been really friendly to me. But I have heard horror stories about unfair banning and such. It seems they're taking applications right now for new mods. Maybe things will improve with their new philosophy on forum moderation? Or perhaps it will backfire. Dun dun dunnn! |
That's pretty sad, being banned for a comment like that. He sounds quite childish for doing that. . . xD
The only time I was banned on Gaia, I deserved it. I haven't had any problems with the mods or anything, probably because I don't talk to any of them. |
they aren't allowed to do that - are you sure that that's all you did, what did the e-mail that told you you got banned say was the violation??
Not that I'm defending them - I've been banned twice for not doing anything - but STILL, the e-mail said something right?? |

I've not had a problem with Gaia mods yet. I've only ever really talked to one of them, Zahir and he was lovely <3 That was a while back though, not even sure if he's still a mod now, as I don't chat there much now so I'm blissfully oblivious to who does what there at the moment. |
I only know one mod, hes cool (havnt spoken to him in atleast a year...probably should) and one admin..or maybe ex admin they disspeared about 2 years ago lol, the admin was a major power abuser hehe would just screw with you account if they felt like it, even changed my head into a pumpkin to prove they could mess with me! (i hadnt been on much and didnt know how to recognise admins etc..)

I have a mod on my friends list, but I don't talk to him, we've been on each others list since my early days on Gaia. meh...I haven't had any bad experiences with mods there.

While I agree that their system needs work (I will not go into my own rant), they made a semi-recent announcement that the moderation system is being revamped. I have hopes for it. ^_^;

I'd report it to another moderator and ask them about your account history. You just don't get 'banned' you get in trouble on a strike system. And of course, telling a moderator they look like a 12 year old isn't a flame.
Anyway, I can't apply to be a moderator because over 2 years ago I posted a long spam message which resulted in an informal warning. Try that one on. |

He was just a jerk! I was talking to a Mad yesterday and she was really nice. She was just like any other person on gaia only under her name it had mod xD.
Mod's are everyday normal people you have nice one's and then jerk off ones. Sometimes they may just be having a bad day and one little comment may send them over the edge :x |
What an idiot.. :roll: That's just really unfair for you, and maybe other people who do the same thing. Yes, I agree some mods do abuse their power, but not all.. I hate it when that happens. ><;

Some Moderators on Gaia have shown to be a bit less competent than others.
I'm certain there was more of a reason than what you're presenting here though. |
