The Exotic and Unusual
So we all know that dogs and cats are good cuddly companions and such. I, myself, have two dogs and a cat. Love them to death.
But I've also been known to bring home the scaly critters when I can afford them. I absolutely adore snakes, especially Kingsnakes. They come in so many different varieties. Lots of colors and temperaments depending on where they came from. They're quiet, easy to clean, and I spent less than $25 a month on food. They're cranky when they shed, but other than that, my babies were cool and didn't mind being handled. Any exotic pets for you? Know someone with a lion/tiger/monkey/armadillo? o_O Or maybe you have a normal pet with unusual talents or habits. Share plz. P: |
Any exotic pets for you?
Not really, unless you count Hermit Crabs as exotic. They're unusual, but I don't think that its weird to have one. Know someone with a lion/tiger/monkey/armadillo? o_O O_o; No, I don't. But I'd like a Genet one day. Or maybe you have a normal pet with unusual talents or habits. My dog barks when anything comes near our house. But that's about it. ... Also, I'm not that much of a fan of snakes. Neither is my mom. I threw a fake snake at her once, and she screamed. xD |
i want a wolf DDDDX but not one that could be in the wild...thats just cruel to keep it from its home...doesnt mean i still dont want one DX.....does the person ive kidnapped and keep in a cage count as a pet?? *pokes them with a stick then throws a muffin to them* they have been good today...o.o

I've had a lot of pets... I'm not entirely sure what kinds actually qualify as exotic, really... So I'll just list some of the pets I've had...
Rabbits, dogs, cats, parakeets, budgies, several kinds of fish, hamsters, genua pigs, horses, chickens, lizards, turtles, and such... I have friends who own tarantulas, rats, snakes and the regular cats, dogs and fish as well... I used to know someone who owned an albino skunk... ever since I met them I wanted my own... sooo adorable... I've also known people who owned raccoons, ferrets, pot belly pigs, mice and such as well... |
@ Lone - You have a WOLF? Lucky! I want one! D=
|
@Anna: I've done that to my mom as well. She hates snakes. And my dad? Terrified of scorpions. Always fun to catch him off guard with one of those. P:
@lonewolf: My aunt has a wolf that she rescued when he was still just a pup. But you're right, I wouldn't want to take anything from the wild and keep it locked up. That's pretty sad. And as for the person you're keeping, at least make sure you take them for a walk everyday so they can stretch their legs. :3 @mangacatgirl: Sounds like my cousins house! They've had so many different animals over the years, I've lost track. I remember they used to have a pot bellied pig. It was cute as a baby. ^-^ I've thought about a skunk, too. I hear they make neat pets. |

@visual zombie - they onyl get outside if they are very good, they have jsut been good tday im afraid |
I have an Amazon Parrot.
And she talks/sings. And yells. And generally interrupting conversations with laughter/screaming. I still love her. XD |
ive only had cats. they both died  oh! i also have a pet rock (wesley)-- he's a jumpy little bugger
when my uncle was a teenager (he lived in a 4 room apt in queens w/ 3 other ppl), he had a spider monkey in the closet :D but the landlady made them get rid of it my cat sammy was a real terror. she could push a pair of heavy wooden sliding doors to one side  my dream pets is probably an army of zombie gorillas to do my bidding. |
Well I always liked snakes, but I hate what they eat, insects and stuff, I can't
keep snakes when I'm afraid of their food. So I'll just keep a cat and 2 bunnies now. If my bunnies die, I won't do that anymore, cause I don't have time for them, and I think thats not good for them. |
Have a cat and dog right now, have kept birds, rabbits, fish, turtles, mice in the past.
I want a pygmy hedgehog but they're not allowed in California. :/ So I'm probably going to hop over to Nevada and see if I can just bring one home sometime. XD My bf had sugar gliders for a while, but he stopped keeping them around after he realized he had no time to really take care of them. They looked like squirrels with stripes and wings. ^^ He almost got me a baby snake because I wouldn't quit cooing over them at this one pet store in Irvine - they also had a two-headed snake on display there. Oh, and my brother had piranas at one point. |
@ Visual - xD I'm terrified of Scorpions as well. I saw a black one once and screamed so loudly. Actually, I do that with several kinds of bugs, I hate them all. O_O
|
I have a snake.
Her names Pandora, and shes lovely. n_n I USED to have a chinchilla... but someone left my door open when I was away and my cat got to it. x_x |
|
@ Zaner - I think ferrets count. I'd like one, but my mom would think I was crazy if I even bothered to ask ehr. xD

No exotic pets for me.
I only really like Dogs, Fish and humans as far as animals go, and since keeping pet humans would require too much hard work (stubborn to train) and all my fish I set free in our lake a few years ago, I just have dogs. When I win the lottery I'd like to keep sharks and Rays <3 They're beautiful creatures. I don't want the tiny pointless ones though, I want giant proper ones (Dream pet = Great White Shark) , so until I win the lottery I'll just dream about having them xD |

I had a fish...but he died ; 3; Know someone with a lion/tiger/monkey/armadillo? o_0 No, but my grandma's friend had llamas, alpacas, a peacock, some cats, chickens, a dog, and saved a coyote. Or maybe you have a normal pet with unusual talents or habits. Well fishies are gluttons...but my fish ignored the food....and yet he lived for 3 years.....weird. |
i caught a bat with a broken neck once. sadly , it died. quickly.
|
I want a snake too, a cobra. A big one. But I will never have one
|
I used to have a female giant African train millipede called Legs. I had her for over a year but she died late last year.
I want another, but my dad won't let me. |
I just have a bunch of dogs. I want a fish, or a hamster, but we just have tons of dogs. I think we're at six now. o.o
I have a friend who has a hedgehog. It's really cute, but it's prickly and it always sticks my hands. ><;; |
I would love a wolf, or a baby tiger, but more realisticlly I love lizards, especially geckos. I don't know anyone with exotic pets but my boyfriend had a friend who's dog was technically a wolf.
I do have four cats, the oldest, about 5 years, is legally blind and has schizophrenia. The two in the middle who are brother and sister and almost 5 months, have the uncanny ability to be doing the exact same thing in unison, even in separate rooms. And our youngest, about 2 or 3 months, has gas worse than anyone I've ever met. |

Yep, I have a corn snake named Lucile. Her morph (color breed) is Creamsicle, so she's really pretty. <3 *sifts for pictures* http://www.yourfavoritewebsite.com/images/lucilebed.jpg She's a lot bigger and a bit lighter than that now, since that's from when she was a baby and her colours were really concentrated. Back then, she just ate little tiny pinky mice, now she's up to ordinary white ones~ <3 Know someone with a lion/tiger/monkey/armadillo? o_O Nope, but I've always wanted an armadillo after I saw a couple who kept them as pets on tv. D: <3 And my girlfriend says tigers are legal to own in Canada, so some people keep them as pets on their farms. xx Or maybe you have a normal pet with unusual talents or habits. Hmm... nah, our cats just have the talents of sleeping all day and our dog just has the talent to wag its butt. D8 Buncha layabouts. |
I used to have ducks and chickens back at my home in China. My grandma bought them for me. Chickens are very hard to raise. They keep on getting sick and they refuse to eat. But now, she found a medicine that helps their indigestion. I don't have any pets here though. My mom keeps on saying she's allergic, but I know that is an excuse. Even if I had a pet dog though, it would be cruel to her because we are away at least 12 hours every day. Opening a dry cleaner is a lot of work. From 7 to 7 and sometimes even later. My friend has a scorpion. I didn't believe it until I saw it. It wasn't too big but still the idea of its stinger poisoning me to death, made me want to leave her house right away. Now I know that I can't mess with her. If she gets mad at me, I better watch out!
