I've heard that everyone has something that they can't handle. Something that they try to face in their mind and can't even bring themselves to think about. I also know that people have smaller fears. Sometimes these fears are so large they take the shape of a phobias.
I'm afraid of heights, escalators, closed in spaces, and sharp objects.
These are my worst fears.
I'm unable to do so much as climb a latter or jump down a few feet because of my fear of heights.
I'll gladly walk up several flights of stairs. I can't use an escalator without experiencing sharp trembling during and afterword. I can't even imagine doing so without thinking I might tumble to my death. Even stairs scare me, but I can handle them much better.
I have trouble dealing with crowds. And there are several other accasions where small places bring me trouble. (ex. no waterslides)
The fear of sharp objects keeps me from being able to handle sharp knives. I use a butterknife for anything. I can even cut raw potatoes with a butterknife.
Beyond severe fears, we all have our quirks.
I have to be able to see the time, not having a watch makes me very nervous.
I hate touch. So much as shaking someone's hand is disgusting to me. I can only stand touch with the people I care for. I do shake people's hands without fuss, but inside I hate it.
Noise is my last one. I don't like things to be loud. I don't even listen to music.
From this list I sound very strange. In real life I don't strike people as odd. I'm not open about any of my fears except for the fear of sharp objects, heights and escalators(this one only when there is absulote need).
What are you fears?
What are your quirks?
Are yo open with people about them or do you like to keep them hidden.

Spiders. UGH! I saw a spider actually walking on water when I was in the pool, and made my mom kill it. Even after it was put in the filter I refused to go in that pool.
Vomit. If someone even says they have a stomach ache, I'm out of the room. This is without a doubt the worst of my fears. I am very very sensitive to smells (when I was 5 I couldn't eat food in public without comi,ng close to puking, and I'm not much better now, though I manage lunch in the school cafeteria and dinner out once and a while), which is most likely why vomit disgusts me while blood and such has no affect (other than the occasional exclamation of "Cool!").
The mildest of my fears is a fear of pregnant women. The thought of something living inside someone repulses me. And then that living thing turns into a baby-and I hate small children. They annoy the crap out of me.
Edit: Almost forgot, happy birthday!

Oh yes, they are terrifying. Last year I was at my friend's and we saw a cockroach in her room. We slept in the living room and she refused to go into her room for 2 weeks (until her mom found it in one of my friend's bathing suits).

Ooooh, heights where there is nothing to catch my fall. D: I can handle a bridge where there is a railing, but if there wasn't one, I wouldn't be able to step anywhere near the edge. Even leaning over a railing can set me off.
Like, I was in the Tokyo Tower, at the top, and I was trying to get this picture, and to get it, I had to lean over the glass. Couldn't do it. I freaked out at the first glance.
Even worse was climbing Mt. Fuji. I was hyperventilating over the height, and gasping over the quick pace and my lack of endurance, not a very good combonation. Dx There was just steep slope, and a very long way down...
I also don't like escalators. But really, it's just getting on one that freaks me out. I used to love them as a kid, but a few months ago, I found that all of a sudden, I couldn't handle stepping onto one. I always think that I'm going to miss the step and fall to my death, or something. Once I get on them, I'm fine, though.
Eh, I have some quirky, never going to happen fears, as well. Mail bombs being one of them. I can't handle opening packages that come in the mail, or anything. They have to be thuroughly investigated before I can hand them off to someone else to open. x3
And things being thrown at me. Water balloons, especially. I'm not good with surprises, and I flinch anytime something's thrown at me. So water balloons just make me sick to my stomach. xD

I make other people open my packages.
Not that I get mail too often anyway.

I don't have any true phobias. I have a great many fears, yes, but they don't interfere with my day-to-day life. A fear of heights may stop me from ever sky diving, but I'm not so terrified that I can't climb a set of stairs, for example.
However, I joke with a great many friends that I'm aulophobic. (It's the fear of flutes.) Throughout high school I was always the one set to tune the freshmen flute players before a concert, and it was just a painful experience. I don't even play the instrument! I've made Aulophobic my screen name on a number of sites, and it always makes me giggle when people ask about it.

I hate spiders and bugs in general. +_+ I'll usually avoid them unless they're in the tub, then I have to get a huge wad of toilet paper to make sure I don't touch them when getting rid of them.
Oh, and I really hate used clothing in thrift stores and the like. Used clothing from other people directly tends to ooookay but I still clean it before wearing it of course, but thrift stores have this horrible smell I can't stand. I remember being completely horrified as a kid when my mom bought some items from a thrift store. x_x It's a funny quirk because I'm constantly donating my own stuff.
I used to be hydrophobic, always thought I would drown or something in a pool but I joined the swim team to get over it.
Usually I don't volunteer this sort of information when talking face to face unless it comes up as a specific topic.

I am scared of practically every bug especially cockroaches because they can survive and live in any condition: they can fly and are extremely hard to kill. I am also afraid of dead things like rats or bugs. Just the fact that they are dead disgusts me so much. I am scared of being upside down for more than 5 seconds. I am so scared of those huge rollercoasters that turn you upside down because I'm scared that they will freeze because of a technical problem while we're upside down and then our blood will rush to our heads and if we stay in that position too long, we could die. I hate needled and getting blood tests. I feel nauseous when I see blood.
I have some little quirks too. I have to rub alcohol on my cuts every 3 hours or so because I'm scared of getting an infection. My mom is very paranoid and that rubbed off on me. I have to check that the front door is locked and that the oven is turned off every night. When I hear a disgusting story I have to touch the right side of my neck. I think the main blood vessel is there or something, so everytime I feel blood pumping weirdly, like it's throbbing so I have to put my hand there.

I'm scared of snakes, falling, and of people touching my feet. I have no idea how that last one came about, and I know it's not rational. It's just kind of... I don't know. xD

I'm afraid of Spiders. No matter how small the spider is, I make my friend or dad kill it. This one time, I was just sitting around on my bed and I felt something tickle on my leg. I look up, and theres this HUGE Daddy long-legs crawling up my leg. I freaked out. You know, the whole screaming and hitting my leg like a spaz, then hitting the floor in the general place that it landed. Yes, I know, Daddy Long-legs aren't spiders, they're beetles, but it's not like I'm going to sit there and count the legs while it's crawling up my thigh. DIR.
My quirks...oh dear, I have many.
~Wherever I go, I have to have a writing utensil and something to write on. I'm always worried that inspiration will strike somewhere, and I can't write it down or document it.
~If I don't have Sobe No Fear energy drink every morning I won't get out of bed. My dad brings me one every morning. I have no Idea what I'm going to do when I go off to collage. lol
~I have to have my phone with me. I freak out if I forgot it at home or if it's dead. I feel disconnected if people can't get a hold of me.
That sounds like enough. lol

I'm not afraid of heights, bugs, or enclosed spaces. Actually, I like heights and enclosed spaces, and I don't mind bugs.
I cannot bear to think of vomit. EWWWW. Like, in school, if my friends ever complain about being sick I quickly tell them to get their asses to the nurse and high-tail it to the farthest restroom from it.
I also sorta-fear disasters. Like right now there's this BIG hurricane (well not BIG yet, but it has to go through the gulf.) headed my way and I am worried sick about what'll happen to my house, my friends, my stuff...
I'm going to be in Dallas, we've already decided, so I don't have to worry about myself or my family (they'll be with me). I mean, what if our house floods and gets all ruined and we have to get people to fix it? We can't afford to pay people to fix our house; we just got a new car (our old one couldn't make it to Dallas anyway.) It's these kinds of things that make me lose sleep at night. It's also why I fear being away from home a bit, too. I'm always afraid of what will happen.
Quirks? Well.
I'm very neurotic about some things. If one thing is bothering me, one little thing like something being on that shouldn't or one of my books is out of place, after I notice it, I can't continue what I'm doing until I fix it.
Yet some things don't bother me at all. Grades, for one, don't seem to matter much to me. I wish they did more, but somehow they don't. My room being a huge mess doesn't seem to bother me, either.
I'm a little temperamental. My moods swing quite often, and depending on who is around.

I'm terrified of insects and spiders. When I see one, I usually run away from it, scream really loudly, and call for my mother. She usually doesn't come when I call for her, which makes me wonder... What if I'm getting murdered and I don't get a chance to scream out again? It worries me sometimes, but not really. What really worries me is when my mom has a knife when I'm near her. I mean, she's my mother, but I still feel pretty uneasy. x.x
