  • I love these cupcakes. And pretty much anyone can eat them.
That, and they take no time to make ♥

Recipe for Dairy & Egg Free Cupcakes!

Cook Time: 20min cook, 10 (at most) preparation.
Servings: approx. 12 (or 8 if your using muffin cases)
Ingredients:
♥ 1 1/2 Cups Self-Raising Flower
♥ 1/2 Coca or Custard Powder (depending on what flavor you want)
♥ 1 cup sugar
♥ 1/3 Cup Canola Oil
♥ Tablespoon Lemon or Orange Juice (make sure it's fresh. Lemon Essence just doesn't work!)
♥ 2 Teaspoon vanilla essence.
(Icing)
♥ 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
♥ 1 Teaspoon dairy-free margarine.
♥ 1 teaspoon soy milk.

How to made:
  • Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan forced, and line a standard muffin tray with paper cases.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa or custard powder and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add oil, lemon or orange juice and vanilla.
  • Using a whisk to stir, gradually add 1 cup of cold water until well combined (make sure you add the water in parts, because sometimes you'll find you need less water).
  • Pour/Spoon into cases, until almost full.
  • Bake for 12-20 min, or until a skewer inserted at center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes in tray, then remove to a rack to cool completely.

    Icing
  • Combine icing sugar, dairy-free marg. and soy milk in a microwave proofmixing bowl. Microwave on high for 20-30seconds (max).
  • Add a teaspoon of food colouring if desired, and further combine/stir ingredients until fully mixed.
  • Ice Cupcakes <3

Recipe for Magically Amazing RAMEN!
Cook Time: around 10 minutes for me, but it could be more or less for you.
Servings:1, unless you are a small eater. Then it'd be 1 and a half.
Ingredients: 1 pack instant ramen, any flavor (chicken is good), 2 eggs, cracked into a bowl and at the ready, 5 or 6 fresh (or frozen, completely thawed) green beans, chopped into 1-inch long pieces, a tiny piece of butter, and a 1/4 of a cup chopped onions.
How to made:
  • Fist, put the little bit of butter in the bottom of a saucepan. Melt it on super low heat and add the onion, moving it around so it doesn't burn, but cooking it till it becomes soft and clear-ish, as cooked onions tend to do.
  • Then, take out the onion and put it in a bowl on the side. Fill the same pan with 2-3 cups of water, and set it on medium-high heat to boil. Before it boils, add the contents of the flavor pack from the ramen.
  • Once the water boils, add the ramen noodles and the greenbeans. Cook it for the length descibed on the packet, usually 3 minutes.
  • Drain off about half the water (or less if you want it to be soupy) and return the pan and it's contents to the stove. Turn it on to low heat, and add your eggs and onions. Cover it for two minutes, and let it cook without stirring. Then take off the lid, and stir it furiously (turning up the heat if need be) till the eggs are scrambled and cooked completely.
  • Dump into a bowl and serve <3

Recipe for Eggy Baskets!
Cook Time: about 10-15 minutes?
Servings: Depends on how much bread and eggs you have
Ingredients:Eggs, butter, bread, PAM
How to make:
  • Start up the frying pan.
  • Put a hole in your bread, in the middle. Make it medium sized. D:
  • Butter up both sides of the bread.
  • Put the bread onto the pan, then crack an egg inside of it.
  • Flip when needed. Cook much like a grilled cheese sandwich; keep it on the pan until it's nice and crispy and toasty. n_n
  • Make sure you use PAM, or a lot of butter to prevent sticking. >_>

Glammy 09-18-2007 12:31 PM

  • @neur0mancer

We do something pretty much the same, except we call it 'Toad in a Hole' for some reason.
Eggy Baskets sound so much better :"O

Either way, they tend to be pretty awesome.

((we cook the little bread bits you cut out as well. They're a whole lot of tastey))

xD Thats what my dad called it.
Then I saw V for Vendetta and one of the characters called it "Eggy in a basket", and I thought Eggy Baskets sounded cuter. xD

Oi, this is the best thread I've ever seen! I can't wait to try out some of the recipes in this thread! ^_^

I'm a huge cake/cupcake baker/decorator, so most of my recipes are centered around those desserts. The recipe below makes the most awesome chocolate buttercream icing I've ever tasted!

Recipe for Chocolate Buttercream Icing!
Cook Time: 15 minutes or so
Servings: 5 cups - Enough to cover 1 cake or about 24 cupcakes (generously)

Ingredients:
5 1/3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup unsweetened baking cocoa powder
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

How to make:
  • In a big mixing bowl, mix the powdered sugar, cocoa, and butter together until well blended.
  • Beat in milk and vanilla until smooth.
  • If needed, add additional powdered sugar or milk as necessary to get the desired consistency (add powdered sugar to thicken it, milk to thin it).

Simplixity 09-19-2007 07:13 PM

Ahh, they all sound so delicious. I wish I had my own recepie to contribute. But, alas, I can only follow them..for now. (unless I want to burn the house down of course.)

I have a recepy its kinda weird so you have been warned

Recipe for SPAM luncheon meat stew!
Cook Time: 30minutes or so (havent really taken the time O.o)
Servings: Depends of the can (Big can 4-5)
Ingredients:

1 SPAM luncheon meat can (diced)

1 can of chick-peas (no yucky liquid, drain it please)

1 medium potato (peeled and diced)

1 carrot or half depending on how big the carrot

1/2 cup of diced pumpkin (this I know)

1 1/2 cup of water or enogh to cover all ingredients

Tomato paste (I eyeball it)

Adobo (Its a seasoning)

Cayene or if you prefer (I know I do) Annatto or Achiote http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achiote

Sofrito (wich in most people cases would just be sautted garlic cloves and diced onions) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sofrito

How to made:
  • Heat up a little olive oil in the pot and sautte the garlic and onions or if you use sofrito well the sofrito, the tomato paste, the adobo, salt (if you wish, the SMAP has a lot of sodium usually so I do not add salt)
  • Add water, stirr it for a few mins until the ingridients have fused together
  • Finally just add the rest of the stuff in (the SPAM, the chick-peas , the potatoe, the carrot and the pumpkin) and wait until the potatoes, carrot and pumpkin soften (that's what I do, not much of a chef I know O.o)
  • Finally serve with white rice or just like that in a big bowl add a spoon and Buen Provecho!

  • Remove the yolks into a bowl and mash them.
  • Add 1/3 cup mayonnaise, mustard, sweet pickle relish, salt and pepper, to taste, and hot red pepper sauce.

Recipe for Norwegian Pancakes!
Cook Time: approx. 10 mins
Servings: 1 [makes 2 pancakes...double recipe for 4, triple for 6, etc]
Ingredients: 1 egg, milk equal to amount of egg [approx. 1/2 cup], a few tablespoons of flour, a touch of olive oil, a sprinkle of cinnamon [optional], butter, extra cinnamon/or powdered sugar
How to made:
  • Beat the egg and milk in a small bowl
  • Add in flour and beat again, then add in sprinkle of cinnamon and olive oil and stir.
  • Get out a large pan and set it on the burner at slightly lower than medium heat.
  • When the pan is heated, pour half of the batter [or a ladle sized scoop if making larger than 1 serving] in the pan and pick up the pan making circular motions so that the batter spreads out to cover the bottom ENTIRELY
  • Immediately use a rubber spatula to push the edges inward to avoid burning around the edges
  • When the bottom looks golden brown flip the pancake and cook until you see small golden spots at the bottom.
  • Put the pancake on a plate and spread butter on it [it helps to have the butter slightly melted and spread using one of those cooking brushes] . Sprinkle cinnamon/or powdered sugar to your liking across the whole pancake. Fold the pancake in half once, then again, then again so it's in a 'pizza shape'
  • Set aside on another plate.
  • Repeat for remaining pancakes.

Sorry if those are confusing instructions! I tried to add as much detail as possible as these are kind of hard to cook. You need to have the flipping just right or they may break or burn ^-^;;

Recipe for 'country style' Veggies and Biscuits!

This is a chicken and biscuits recipe that I have adapted to be vegetarian.

I plan on experimenting more with this and maybe try using fresh broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and potatoes instead of frozen veggies - but I haven't had a chance yet.

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients:
  • 1 8oz package fresh button mushrooms
  • 1 cup textured soy protein (or textured vegetable protein, or more mushrooms)
  • 1 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 bag (16 oz) frozen mixed vegetables (I used frozen stir fry vegetables)
  • 2 cans (14-16 oz each) vegetable broth
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh parsley (I used freeze dried)
  • 3 1/3 cup Original Bisquick
  • 1 cup milk
How to make:
  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Heat onions, celery, mixed vegetables and vegetable broth to boiling in 5-quart Dutch oven (or heavy pot)
  • stir in mushrooms and TSP - let the mix return to a boil
  • In a small bowl mix the cornstarch and cold water until the cornstarch is dissolved
  • Pour cornstarch into vegetable mixture and heat to boiling, stirring constantly - boil and stir for 1 minute
  • Remove pot from heat and stir in the parsley
  • Pour mix into a un-greased rectangular 13x9x2 inch pan
  • Stir Bisquick and milk until a soft dough forms. Drop by 30 teaspoonfuls into vegetable mixture (I got more like 15 spoon fulls)
  • Bake 25-30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown
