Some people just like it :3 I hate alot of things, but hating them doesn't change anything so I just ignore it
|
hm.. not not sure what you're talking about =\ i never heard someone talk in third person... but i wouldn't mind if someone does talk like that.
|
You should come to Angels posts more often. She can't help but talk in third person :P
|
It adds some character to the posters response if you ask me. What can be so wrong about that?
|
I think for roleplaying its fine but if you are talking in general as if having a conversation one on one then I think thats going a bit too far with the third person aspect. If you have to talk like "she wen't up to her room and stayed there thinking about the past" as an example for writing then thats fine but talking about it like that is a bit odd.

I speak in third person when im talking about one of my personality quirks. e.g. Mellie loves to collect underwear. Mellies dont like scarey movies. etc.
I dont think its obnoxious or annoying. Childish yes, but thats the manner i use it in, it isnt always that way with everyone. |
I'm alright with people who do it online. It can be cute...
But in real life it just makes me cringe. I have done it before when I was goofing off. I would say something out of the blue like "Lorrie is hungry." But I don't do that on a regular basis. I can't remember the last time I did that. I think it is a bit childish because children tend to do it. Although I don't fuss at anyone who does it around me. Its their choice, I just kinda think its a bit weird. xD |

I guess I'm just indifferent to it. I don't type in third person myself, as it seems like more work for no reason. As long as people type in a way I can understand what they're saying, it's all good with me.
StIcKy CaPs typing annoys me as it makes my eyes hurt, but other styles don't really affect me much. |
For writing is good, but for writing like now no its stupid.
I write in third person past tense, but when I'm typing like this its first person present tense. |
It's ok when used sparingly. I don't like when people do it continuously though. It reminds me of Julius Caesar right before he is assassinated.
|
I don't mind it when people type in 3rd person i guess it adds variety to reading posts XD
But i have yet to witness someone actually talking in 3rd person. I'm not sure how i would react to it though...hmmm :? |
I talk in the third person more frequently than I type in the third person, actually. (Which still isn't all that frequent, but whatever.)
|
I have this old friend and she started talking like this
TeH jUjI iST TeH sO HaPi THaT u TiNK DaT she started talking like that in real life too. It drives me crazy! I don't mind a little bit every now and then in a joking way but ya. a pet peeve of mine for sure. |

Third person's really only annoying to me if someone uses it to be patronizing, y'know? "Jim doesn't know, maybe if Jim checks where YOU didn't he will find it. Oh look. Right here. WHERE HE LEFT IT! :D" Otherwise, when used to an extent, it's kinda funny. |
I do it sometimes <3
LIke when someone says " Cassie likes me." I'd say "No Cassie doesn't." but , yeah. <3 I like it really. |
That reminds me of that Seinfield episode. :o Anyone remember that? xD;
I find it rather amusing. :D |
I sometimes type in third person. It's a really bad habit. xD |
Glow occasionally talks in 3rd person, mostly to her friends at school. . . just because sometimes its fun to talk in a wierd way (I like pig latin to XD)
But normally I just talk regular. It doesn't annoy me when other people do so, I actually find it ammusing. Its fun to act immature every so often. I suppose that some people would find it exceedingly annoying, but as far as I'm concerened people can talk however they want to.8D |
Luumi loves to talk in the 3rd person. It's unique, and you really have to concentrate, lest you accidently say "I" or "Me". Although, at Luumi's school there's another person in her classes with the same name, so whenever Luumi says her name out loud, he thinks she's talking about him.
Although, talking in the 3rd person makes Luumi's head dizzy sometimes. It gets confusing if she does it for too long. |
3rd Person is really fun! But when someone does it all the time and it's not even a joke anymore, I also get annoyed... I mean, I've written in 3rd person while commenting and my friends and I turned it into a story and etc... and a couple of statements in rl like, "___[MY NAME]____ DOES NOT WANT. O_O", but when people do use it all the time, I can see why you get annoyed. I mean, go ahead, but I hate reading it too much. XD That way of speaking/writing also feels too passive to me, like a little pink rosy Japanese robot with huge googly eyes is asserting it's programmed opinion... First person is more direct and I take it more seriously. Unless, the person speaking in 3rd person says something very, very intelligent, and I'm reminded the person actually has a brain. Sorry. I just seriously think of some bubble-head anime/manga character when someone uses 3rd person. Those are the types of characters that use it the most after all. x.x;; I wonder where the first person to use 3rd got the idea from. Was it from anime after all?

Third person is fun. Fabby loves speaking in the third person. Generally, Fabby speaks like a normal person.. occasionally, she will begin referring to herself in the third person. Usually in normal speech though, not over the internet. o_O
|
i do it sometimes very rarely though.. :)
|
Why does it bother you?
This makes no sense to me, Flink is cool. |
