Have you every had to spend your birthday doing something you didn't want to do?

I have to spend my birthday playing at a football game and then an exhibition for marching band D: It makes me very sad and I'll have no time to spend with anyone (including my family who is coming out to visit). D':

  • D: Poor you... well, I normally spend my birthday in school, seeing as it's at the end of June - a month before the summer holidays.

But this summer it's on a saturday! n___n

My birthday is never solely mine. For about six years of my life, it was spent celebrating my high school's graduation, and having to go around and congratulate everyone from the neighborhood. The year that my brother graduated, I barely even got five minutes worth of time for me. Even this past year that I was in college, I spent my birthday at the graduation party of a girl I didn't even like, all because my mother was friends with her mother and we couldn't refuse the invitation. Not fun.

Happy birthday anyway. Just see if you can celebrate it the day before or the day after, and maybe you'll fit some fun into your schedule.

None of my parties are actually organized. I just used to eat cake with my parents and be done with it, nothing too exciting that you see on television or would expect a normal birthday to be. I went ice skating once with a friend of mine, but that was all. =/ I'm hoping that this year, I can do something exciting.

On my 21st birthday, my mother got sick. Most of my friends were living elsewhere so I was celebrating with my parents. When she got sick, the plans for the day pretty much stopped. I spent the day getting my new driver's license and playing video games. We went out to dinner the following weekend so it all worked out.

Mostly there's nothing going on for my birthday, seeing as it's four days after Christmas. By that time the post-holiday shopping chaos has gone down and people are planning for New Year's. It works out pretty nicely.

Haha, thanks everyone! My birthday wasn't completely horrible, but certainly not the best I've ever had.... It did end on a nice note though ^^

My birthday sometimes falls on the Easter long weekend. ^^
Friends are usually busy spending time with families and hunting down eggs. ><;

I rarely celebrate my birthday on the right day- it's more convenient to do stuff on the weekend, or during the holidays, when my friends are free.

That said, I've never had to spend it doing anything I hated [except that time I had a flight on the day- but my friends sang happy birthday at the airport, it was fun. :)]

I don’t really care anymore what I do on my birthday since it’s just like every other day to me. I never do anything really special so it doesn’t matter. Last year I worked, the years before I had school so it wasn’t all that special.

My birthday is always on a school day. ALWAYS. x___x

Except that one time, it was on Easter. The, uh, day where you get chocolate. It might've been a school day, I don't know, I'm horrible at remembering Easter dates. Anyway, it was a few years ago and I felt like my birthday had been stolen, lol.

Nothing too bad has ever happened to me on my birthday, though. I went ice-skating with my friend and my sister on my last birthday, and I added another scar to my collection, but that's about it.

I never have had any parties for my birthday...it just wasn't me to make a party for everyone, especially because it was during summer and sometimes people are hard to reach.

The past...year or two my birthday started to be on school days because the school schedule changed, this is even worse. I get to spend my birthday at school, then going home to do homework. :/ Hated it. My birthdays just another day in my calender...Nothing special.

The worst birthday I ever had was when we moved to another state. We had to drive around registering the car and what not. It took up the whole day, I was only eleven and at the time we were in a hotel and I had to cook my own dinner and my brothers abandoned me to watch Simpsons.

Well, for those who don't bother celebrating your birthdays, I feel sorry for you. In my family, birthdays are a big thing. It's just a nice time for the family to get together and celebrate.

Plus, when you have 4 other siblings, it nice to be recognized as an individual and to celebrate you. It may sound selfish but that is just how I see it.

Aww, poor you.

You could have a birthday bash a day after or something, or the weekend.

Well anyway, I hated it when I had my birthday on a school day.

But like, now at college (college is a different thing over here BTW) it would probably be fun having my birthday on a school day. O:

It's so much better than school like. <3
