Did I skip class? All the time! My group of friends all ended up on"contract" by the end of the year...two or three years running in some cases (I was two) Which was basically you had a 50% attendance rate. Sometimes it was initiated at 75% but meh it meant you had to go to every class for a month or else be kicked out. So miraculously the group all managed to do a solid month of classes by the end of the year...well mostly a lot got thrown out, but they still came to college. It wasn't that we weren't there, we just had much more fun in the social area as a group :P

Hm I would never skip class.
Because..seriously, ask youself: Why?
To spend time with your friends? Ha. You'll have plenty of time for that after you've been denyed from university. To be cool? Whats cool about it? Smoking? Ew. Believe me, nobody 'cool' skips class to go and hang out with friends at the mall anymore. Maybe in the 80's and 90's...not anymore.
-__-
If you skip class for something important like..visiting a dying friend..or..getting your liscence or an appoitment..thats fine.
And..skipping class ONCE or twice is fine...but its worse when you skip a subject you're doing poorly in. I know I sound like a boring teacher, but seriously, you wanna be called a loser? Skip class. Alot.

kids what you dont understand is this:
we have no detention
we dont have punishment at school for skipping classes
the worst thing that can happen if you get to 40 missing classes in the year is that you actually lose the year
I missed 40 days in 4th year high they called my mom she said she agreed on me skipping classes and they allowed me to continue with a warning that's all
it is sad i know but it is just our system

Why bother going to class anyway? I passed my highschool english with only half the coursework and a grand total of 6 months lessons....out of TWO YEARS! I passed, with quite a high grade too. I'm in a great job with great prospects, live on my own and can afford nice expensive things.

So what's this whole it's terrible you'll never do well attitude about? Is it jealousy that people can do these subjects? Jealousy that people have better things to do? Jealousy that they have more friends?

And let me tell you, when you leave school/college/whatever you DON'T have more time for your friends! My friends have moved across the country and we all work different patterns. We see each other well...I last saw my best friend two months ago and it was an entire year since the time before.

I have a chronic ditching problem.
Most of the time, I feel too shitty to make it into class. Some of the time, I just don't wanna.

Yeah.. I ditched the whole damn day today.. O_O I'm bad.

No. Seriously, my professors don't give a FUCK if I miss class. You can make it up, you can email people, whatever--but it's my grade if I skip it. They made that pretty clear at the start of the semester; I'm just taking advantage of it. If I want to sleep in/catch up for another class/whatever, then I can take off a day. (The ironic thing is that if I'm sick, I'll go to class. That doesn't bother me. :roll: ) When it matters, I'll show up. But for a rehash of today's reading, when I could be working on a paper for some other class? Not going to bother with it.

Ninth grade, I skipped (legally) all of my classes. I turned in no "busy work" for my English class all year--just essays. I got extra credit on every test and aced the class. :?: I get a B/A average without trying. I bullshit my way through classes that I could teach better than the teacher/professor. I'm not going to bother going if I'm not getting something out of it.

Only place I could go if I skipped was Wawa (they look in all the bathrooms before each period), and a lot of teachers go there during their break...so not a good idea.

Besides, most of my teachers don't give work or textbooks, just lectures and tests. So it'd be stupid to miss class purposely.

  • I don't really have any strange and wacky stories, but I tend to skip my short class... Geography starts at 9:30a, only lasts an hour, and then I go home because I either have nothing else the rest of the day, or I don't have class again until 2:00p. >< I missed a quiz doing that, but the teacher is very... lenient.

    I have waking up problem, it doesn't matter how long I sleep or what my sleep schedule is, I just can not wake up easily.

I only skipped once in my entire life and that was in grade 1 when my friend convinced me to stay in the play structure. But got caught afterwards. ><

Anyway, I never did after that. Never will. Guess I rather be good with school. XD;

At the end of my Sophomore year, I skipped just about everyday the last month. xD Just because my grades couldn't get better or worse. The classes I was failing were gonna keep failing and the classes I was passing were going to stay a passing grade. XP

It can be fun, and a rush, but if you get caught that's kinda bad. Especially if your parents are high strung like mine. @[email protected]; It's always better to skip with friends, though. xP

If you're going to skip, plan it out ahead of time. Mainly because where are you going to skip to on a moment's notice? XD If you get caught, you can get in big trouble. I know, because some friends I was skipping with got caught and arrested right in front of me, not even two feet away. They got suspended, grounded and fined. @.o; But, I didn't like them that much anyhow, so it was all good. Luckily, I kept a low profile, unlike them. xD

Ahh~ I'm still in highschool, and our campus isn't hugee enough for them to have his drive? xD;; Ahh~<3 Traffic wouldn't be a problem for me. ^^

And really, if I skipped, the teachers would be angry - unlike in college where the professor doesn't really care if your there or not. xD;;

But yeah. I've skipped a few times. Mainly because I was tired though. xD;; And I begged my boyfriend who had "connections" to make it so that I was excused from the class even thuogh I had no doctors note or anything. xD;; Haha.

but other wise..I try to stay in class. I find that if I skip a day or something, I get awefully behind and then I'm cursing myself later because I don't know the material like I would if I were there in class when the teacher taught it. ^^<3

I actually never really skipped classes in my high school years. The only time I didn't bother going to school was in my senior year when everyone went on senior trip. It really didn't count for much because it was also only a 1/2 day of school and we weren't doing anything constructive in my classes.
