I do some equally "gender-crossing" things as well, so I can't really say much.
My mom got me into beading, sad as it is. xD Anyways, I don't think what other people think about something like that should indicate whether you should do it or not. Though many people end up quitting things because of pressure from their friends, etc, I still think that people's decisions should be based on their own interests. ;3 |
Taut myself to swim, fold "cutie catchers", play guitar, fold clothes well for a guy not common), dance, design profiles on gaia, ect. I feel people should be able to do what they want to, as far as gender specific things that is. Why should I be held from something during my short life I may not get much more of? (By do anything, I mean anything not illegal of course).

I was teaching myself to knit once, and I was doing pretty good until, I made a huge knot, and so I pulled on the needle and the tension was so great I broke the needle in half! My mother got those needles in 1961, she was five, and I break them.

Um...together as in like all 6 listed, no. Just 2 people in each at most. I'm not that cruel. |
I guess I've never viewed gender as any kind of bar to learning skills. A skill is something that nobody can take away from you, and you never know when it might be useful. For instance, my mom taught me when I was younger to sew my own clothing if need be, and it has served me well. I also have learned to bake bread, knit, and do needlepoint. Not that I'll ever need them, but if nothing else they can be a great way to kill time. Plus I love fuzzy sweaters and home-baked bread, so there's a definite plus to a hobby like that. xD

well more than likely I would do each person separate, to make it easier, and then I could put them all in the same image if that's what your looking for.
Edit= Lawl I mis-read what you typed. I can do 2 in each image, but like I said, I would more than likely do it separately and then put them together to color. I don't do couple images too often.>< |
interesting....*has an idea*
If that's how you'd do a group pic, would it be possible to do that with all my OCs? |
That is a really nice piece of art there, BFA. I like the shading style. :)
|
ALL............ Um... 32..O.o that a bit much.....I might be a bit pricey with that..-blinks and is kind of in shock..->< |

Thanks! ^^; Are you on gaia by chance? your name looks familiar..O.o |
lol...well I'd expect that one to be expensive as well at the fact that it would take quite a while. I was just curious to see if if could be done. I think if I were to order a group pic it'd only be maybe 5 or 6 at the most.
XD I loved your reaction... |
That I am, I use the same name for everywhere. It's a fringe benefit of making up your own proper noun, nobody else has it used already. xD
|
Komi: I think I have seen you around there before, username for me is the same as here. And I was thinking about opening like a 2 slot shop on gaia.
Zane: And yea....I have never really done a group pic...so I can't guarantee anything when it comes to it. But if you want me to try, then I can. |
Well if you haven't done a group pic before, then I'll make it a really small group.
|
Hmm, I don't remember seeing you off the top of my head, but that's nothing rare. I have a terrible memory for names. I spend most of my time around the breedables area on Gaia, it seems to be about the last place that the little n00blets have not corrupted totally.
As to opening a shop, I think that could be a fun little project, your art is good, and there are plenty of people who like avi art on Gaia. |
I hang around the breedables as well ^^;;
And Alrighty Zane, just let me know whenever. I'll let you know if I am busy or not. |
Ahh, then it is entirely possible that you have seen me from time to time. My most active thread used to be the Feli, but of late it's been the Blathana and the Temple of the B'alam. :)
|
I hang out mainly at Gates of Hesperides and Dragonflies.
|
Hm...I'll have to check back to find your art prices that you gave me again...
|
I think I said 200g for one person, like in my sig, 350-400g for 2 people(just multiply up), and for backgrounds I think I'll charge 25g cause they are difficult for me..><

I tried knitting for a little bit but I don't think I had the patience or the forethought to finish what I was knitting.
I have taught myself how to program in a few different languages though. I guess that was easier for me to apply myself to than knitting ^^; I was always considered a bit of a strange girl. |
At my old college they used to have a knitting/crocheting club and there were tons of guys in it. In fact there was even a guy in one of my classes who was involved with the club. Around Thanksgiving he would sit through the lectures crocheting hats and scarves. I thought it was rather cool myself. So I don’t think you’re odd for liking to knit, it’s actually quite relaxing. I taught myself basic knitting, but by now I’ve forgotten how to do it. I want to learn how to crochet though. Personally I do cross-stitching all the time. I have random people coming up to me wanting to see what I’m working on and several are amazed that I can follow the graph to make the images. x} I’m not sure why they’re so amazed. lol |
Wow, you taught yourself how to knit? That is very impressive! I've never encountered a guy who knits... or a girl around my age who does it either, for that matter. I don't think you're weird or that it's a taboo. But it does make you delightfully unique. (:
The only thing I've taught myself to do was draw. And that took years and years. <<; I'm still not that great at it though. :/ |
You know that rose you're holding?
I've made one just like that out of tiny glass beads. No, it's not weird for a guy to want to learn to knit. There are much weirder crafts out there...and I know plenty of guys who like them. :P |
