I love knitting. It's so calming. :3
People think I'm insane. But I'm not good enough. I just kind of.. quit. xD;;
I tried making a scarf back in like March but.. D: I suck.

Knitting is awesome and it’s relaxing. True it isn’t one of the “manliest” of hobbies but… so what? If you want to knit yourself a sweater, or at least want to learn how…why? Not, you go right ahead and you knit if that’s what makes you happy. Don’t let people stop you from doing what you want to if that’s what you want to do. I’ve tried to learn to knit, but so far that’s ended pretty badly. Least I haven’t stabbed myself with my knitting needles yet. >_<

So what if you knit. You dont have the be a girl to knit. And it's not rocket science either, so if most guys are like "only girls can do it", ya right, pick up 2 needles and try. It's simple.

But no, I think it is so normal for a guy to knit. I knit, but im a girl, and i love it. It takes up time, it gives you something to do, and you make yourself or someone else something in the mean time. So what if everyone thinks only old people should knit.

Come take a home ec. class here. In our classes you HAVE the knit, whether you are male or female, and if you dont, you fail half of the course. I think kniting is a great thing to learn and no one should put it under a certain gender.

Am I really crazy for wanting to knit? Nah, knitting is a good way to waste time, don't worry about what others say aabout it. You could always not tell anyone.
Have you taught yourself anything?
Yes, I taugh myself how to do certain gardening things, sewing, making plushies, and baking..
Do you knit?
Yes I do ^^
On a more random note...cookies?
No thanks, I want to keep my weight down. I'll bake some for you though ^^

Aww, it's alright that you knit. My dad knows how to sew a bit. I think it's cool when a guy can do things that are stereotypically meant for girls.

I want to do a black and white striped scarf like the one on my avi.

That'd be very cool, good luck on the scarf!

@Everyone else: Thank you for all the comments. I really appreciate it and keep 'em coming!

*chucks cookies into the crowd*

I have the yarn to do a green and black, or purple and black, but like I said, I am working on an all black one for my Fiancé

I love knitting ...
I think it`s really weird myself ... xDD
Because I wouldn`t be the "stereotypical knitter", you know ?
But my hands like to keep doing things .
And that`s why I also like typing ... xDDD
It`s annoying when I don`t know anything to type about and my fingers just want to ... MOVE .
Omgsh, that just seems weird now that I think about it more ... =SS
My dad says knitting is a waste of time though ...
But I usually just knit when I`m watching television or when I just can not sleep .
It`s really ... WEIRD ... I just sit there in like pitch black knitting ... x___x;;
I like knitting scarves because you don`t really need to think about it ...
Just keep knitting, knitting, knitting ... o.o;;

Oh well ... xDDD

I think it`s perfectly fine for guys to knit ... >.>''

[ and I think I`ve typed enough already . xDD ]

MasterChiefrei 10-23-2007 05:23 PM

You can knit if ya damn well want to and it's not crazy! XD There are male tailors who are in a good line of work. ^ ^
As for me I was able to teach myself how to draw. No one really directed me in the style I draw now and I only used other things as references. I also taught myself how to like roller coasters since my parents were too chicken to ride with me. XD
As for knitting...I can't knit. ><; I can vaguely sew and crochet a scarf. XD
Chocolate chip cookies are teh best...Mmm...Nestle. XD

Heh...right. Well when you do get the stuff to make yourself a black and white one I'd love to see the end result.

@Bunnyy: Lol, no such thing as too much typing. And thanks for your comment.

lizzle 10-23-2007 05:54 PM

I've known people my age who knit, but they were mostly girls.. XD It's a perfectly fine hobby though. It's relaxing, soothing, and not too complicated, good way to de-stress which is hugely important to your health.

Personally I've never been interested in knitting.. o.o; Although it reminds me if when I was a little kid and I'd try to make shoes out of construction paper.. for some reason. XD

Zane Troy 10-23-2007 05:58 PM

Lol, thanks lizzle! I think most people where I'm from would find it completely weird if they knew, but I've gotten over that. And thank you for your comment.
Cookie?
*holds out a plate of cookies*

lizzle 10-23-2007 06:30 PM

mmm.. cookie.. >.> *gnaws on a tiny bit of one* I miss sugar. XD

Zane Troy 10-23-2007 06:33 PM

Really? And why do you miss sugar?

lizzle 10-23-2007 06:39 PM

I can't eat more then like 10 grams of sugar in a half hour, or I'll get sick. x.x

Snarry 10-23-2007 06:48 PM

Nah, that's not crazy I think it's actually really cool because I wish that I could knit...but I can't. :(

Good for you for finding something that you like. :3nod:

Zane Troy 10-23-2007 06:48 PM

Oh...that really sucks. I'm sorry.
I've never heard of that before though. Kinda weird.

BlackFeatherAngel 10-24-2007 05:08 AM

I might end up taking a picture of what I have of the black scarf I am doing. I might try to convince my fiancé to buy me new needles cause someone stepped on mine and bent one, so it feels weird cause I tried to straighten it as much as I could, but it is still very wavy feeling. =/

Spencer 10-24-2007 05:50 AM

That's cute :]
it's perfectly fine for guys to want to do little things like that.
is it so abnormal to see girls enjoying football or babying that little red sports car nowadays?

Bunnyy 10-24-2007 05:52 AM

Yay go the knitters !! xDDD

Zane Troy 10-24-2007 06:34 PM

Really Black? That's terrible!

@Bunnyy: Lol, you're pretty fun to have around in here.

Joes Ka Boes 10-24-2007 08:09 PM

HAHAHA! I think it's cute when guys knit. I don't know any, but that sounds cute.

Steinhoff 10-24-2007 08:56 PM

I see no problems about that and I know myself guys who knit (better than some womans some times)

I wold like to know how to knit, so I could get some Scarfs to me XD

Titenya 10-24-2007 09:01 PM

guys can knit, I actaully taught my little brother, but he's better at crocheting (i can't spell sorry) He's tought me how to cook some really complicated stuff and how to build a staircase ^_^

Any one can try to lean new skills, it's just having the inicitive to try.

Zane Troy 10-24-2007 09:03 PM

Wow, thanks for all the commenting guys! I appricate the way most everyone's declared me completely sane! (Even though I'm totally not...*evil laughter*)
