Who here works in a restaurant? If you do what part of the restaurant do you work in? Do you get free food?
If you don't work in a restaurant, what kind of a place do you work in? Do you enjoy it? O_O

I has no job. ._ .
But I'm thinking about applying to Target. They're hiring at one that they just built near me.
But they may not hire someone so young. D:

I work as a demonstrater for 5 year old kids in ballet.
Pretty sweet, and they're adorable!
One of them gave me those fake jewel thingies. xD

I haven't worked in a restaurant, but my friend has and she was like a waitress and she said it was a pure pain in the neck ( to put things in a more lighter and more polite tone) when her boss kept following her around and complaining about anything and everything she did, not to mention she got screamed at by the people because the cooks at the restaurant were making crummy food...

Perhaps.
I can't say I've ever seen a 16 year old working in a store like that. But then again, most stores require you have some experience before you can work as a cashier. So the sixteen year olds would just be stockers who you rarely see anyway. *shrug*

I have never yet had an official job.
However, I did take culinary arts for tow years in high school, and in the second year the advanced class opened a weekly restaurant in the cafeteria. It was so much fun! Admittedly, we only worked for about an hour at a time, one day a week, but it was a good experience. I did mostly plating, which was fun stuff. We also held a couple fund-raising dinners, which were harder, but also lots of fun.
I've considered getting a restaurant job from time to time, since I have an idea of what it entails and I know I have the requisite skills, but I've yet to go for it. One of these days, maybe I will.
I don't have to work right now, because in effect going to college is my job, so I'm taking advantage of my job free time.

I don't have a job. xD;; I have an obligation.
My parents own several restuarents - one of which is located in my city. I'm not there constantly (my mother believes in education before anything else.). But I am "on call" most the time. When they need me, she calls, and I get my arse out to the restuarent.
I'm a waitress. But i don't like handleing the food. I'm not confident enough to serve people. >>;; xD;;<3 But other than that, I'm a casheer and everything else in the place. My mother likes to work -alone- so there's -no other person- there but her. >>;; xD;; So I pick up the tasks that she can't get to when I'm there. xD; I try as hard as I can to avoid the food. xD;;<33
But, I've found out that the big tips come from waitressing. xD:;<3 Sadly, people don't generally give a tip to the girl who gets them their drinks and takes their money. xD;;<3

I love sit down restaurants..my favorite so far being the Japanese restaurants where you sit at a table with people you dont know and watch a master chef flip eggs inside his hat xD; Theres one down the road, theres a waterfall inside as well as a pond with coy fish --->INSIDE<-- o.O;
I also like carry out ;D have to be careful to not disrespect the window loady though :/ I've had someone spit in my drink...:/

I've seen 16 year old cashiers ^_^ It all depends on the store itself, and the people working in it. Even though you may only be able to start off as a stocker, everyone has to start somewhere right? :)

Ohh I know what you mean about the feet hurting thing, I had to get special inserts for my feet. I used to work as both a kitchen help and waitress AND I was a cleaner, hehe that's kind of funny how much we have in common for work :P

- I worked at an Ice Cream Parlor / Restaurant 6 years ago (yikes that hurts to realize that).
I got a discount on food, but not free food. I didn't like the work too much, and the location of the place wasn't the best I had to deal with rich snotty people while working for $6.75 an hour. Eck, I hated it.
Now I work for my room mate / self employed.

I work in a tea room, but it has a restauranty area and it gets many many customers at the weekend, today we had over 2,000 people in.
I help with perparing food, cooking food, serving food, waiting tables and cleaning everything. I don't serve at the till ( mainly because I am a quiet spoken person and people wouldn't hear me over the mass of chatter in the background XD).
We are allowed to choose any of the food we have during our half an hour break to eat (it ranges from homemade sandwiches to specially cooked meals), if we get hungry / thirsty when we work we are allowed to sneak some of the smaller foody things to eat/ drink as long as the customers don't see.
Which is great and all but I don't eat ( well only one meal a day) so it doesn't mean very much to me lol.

I work at a video game store. Since not a lot of people come, we just make jokes and stuff until they do. They keep saying I work too hard though. I have urges to stock and re-alphabetize the shelves, and they'll tell me to calm down. I've too many stories about this job already ~_~.

I once helped out at a restaurant for a friend of my parents. I didn't like it, but I think that was because I was afraid I'd do something wrong. I did get free food though and it was restaurant quality.
