On my first time creating an account on Gaia I was a noob

Nah, I think my pride was holding me back. I guess I used to think that if I begged, I'd be pegged as weak or needy. Needless to say, I liked my image. I started opening shops and making quest threads later on. Gaia was sort of the turning point for me. (Even though now I just want to run from it.) I was such a n00b on Neopets, though. -Hides-

Well.
I typed in chatspeak and was quite gold-hungry, but I didn't go around making an idiot of myself and begging people for items and gold. So... I don't know. I was young and stupid, though, and grew out of even semi-noobishness well before I turned twelve. I've been speaking in grammatically correct English (Though I'm sure there are a few odd grammar rules I haven't learned yet) and watching what I say for almost my entire internet life. |
On gaia I really never begged. I wanted a nightmare scarf so bad in 03 and a good friend gave it to me. I still have the scarf. :wink:

I'm an '04. But I don't have any of my old items. Hacked, forgotten passwords and all sorts of what not XD Good thing it's just a game. Some of my friends take it too far. A close friend of mine was hacked, and although she didn't have too impressive items, she still got very upset when she was hacked. I was worried about her, she even stayed home from school afew days. This was quite strange because at the time, we were 13 ( We are now 15) and well, 13 year olds don't often become so upset over video games. |

I was little bit of a n00b when I began on Gaia. I din't beg, but I spoke in chatspeak and didn't understand the site at all. I didn't read the rules until much later. I found all the threads overwelming when I'd never been in a forum before. Then again, I was only 13. 3 1/2 years later, at 17, things I did then tend to seem childish. |
Haha, gosh I feel so young! everyone I talk to here ( on mene) is sixteen or older, I'm BARELY 15.
But, I guess that can't be helped, I am who I am. (and I love it) Pee.S. There is nothing wrong with being older. Soon,I will be older xD In fact, I am older right now. older than some people at least. |

Hmm I dont ever remember being a noob. I was a newbie however (I am a newbie to this site right now as a matter of fact lol). But when I first started going to sites like this I didn't post. I just lurked, and read the stickies and stuff like that. Because of that, I learned what -not- to do. <3
@llil Dragon: No, A noob is someone who begs, or spams, or is just kind of annoying in general. A newbie on the other hand is someone who is just new to the site. |

I was a noob on Gaia, I repeatedly posted threads asking for gold and threads where I'd just talk in chatspeak. I've learnt my lesson though, I realise just how annoying it is!

I've never been a noob. I don't know, I just think that if something would bug me, then it's not something I should do. I'm just really reserved quiet person in real life and I think it carries over to when I'm on different forum sites. I read the rules and watch whats going on to find out how things work before I start posting. I don't think that being a noob is the worst thing as long as you eventually learn and move past it.

Just a little bit but not for too long ( It was just for one hour xD)... But that was on Gaia. I usually don't say to much on sites before knowing how to work with it. How to move... You know the basic stuff that anyone should know. xD What I can say is that I'm a newbie here . Like I was on Gaia two years ago or more.=3

I wouldn't be ashamed of admitting that I was once a noob. When I was new to this avatar-based online thing, I often posted tons of emoticons on chatterbox-type threads, believing it would gain me tons of gold too. Hahaha!
But after a few days, my friend, who happened to be a regular of Gaia that time, told me that what I'm doing is really a total spam, and she labelled me a n00b for several days. xp |
I was pretty much a n00b when I first started out on gaia, later on I was annoyed by: Cuz sux and all those n00bish things, I thought it was just English/Americans being cool since I'm Dutch and everything.But turned out it was EVIL.
So I turned my back on N00bism and went to being a newb. Later on I became pretty much furniture on forums, nice and literate. Okay my spelling without spellcheck is just horrible and my grammar((edit, I told you guys I was horrible...)) isn't perfect, But I'm just sixteen, I'm still learning, right? |
I've never been a noob.
Probably because I was well and truley and adult before I got the internet and my own computer. :] I'm 26 and completely literate. Unless I'm drunk. :oops: |
