I still like Gaia, I just don't like some of the people that go there. I haven't seen all the stuff you're talking about, I think most of us came from Gaia to begin with, we just don't want it to get like Gaia is now here. I ran into that quiz the other day, you're right it's ridiculous. I thought the same thing you did, anybody with half a brain can figure out the right answers. So, I don't really think that there are a lot of "Gaia haters" here, just "noob" haters. And we unfortunately have seen the most "noobs" on Gaia.

Well, Gaia is a relaxed community with lower standards. I would get rather upset if they started policing users, being selective about who could join. I don't think that's a bad thing to do in and of itself, mind you. If a site wants to do that, it's fine. However, Gaia was NEVER like that, and it would make me rather angry if they just up and started. Do I like chatspeakers? No. Are they welcome on Gaia? Yes. Do I think they should be welcome? Yes, because they're not breaking any rules.

As for rule-breaking, a thread title including a sex organ isn't actually against the ToS, last time I checked. Simply mentioning it (as long as you're not using offensive language) was alright, at least in the past. Going into it in detail breaks PG-13, though, and thus is not allowed. Also, the Gaia staff is not that big. The forums are HUGE. There just aren't enough people to catch everything. That's why there's a reporting system; it might not be seen to immediately but it will probably be gotten around to eventually. You can also contact mods directly. If I've ever had a problem and needed to bring a violation to a mod's attention, I've gotten a fairly quick response, and the violation was taken care of. I know that's not the case for everyone, but I've never had a problem, and I report anything I see that should be.

XD
I love reading rants, it helps me tell people's opinion and what they think.

Personally, I'm a Gaian fan too, but I just went here to try it out and sort of got addicted.

And, I don't believe it matters if you are a Gaian fan: It depends on how you make of it.

If you are those types of gaians who go OOOOHH GAIA IS SOO MUCH BETTER, when you are on this site, you can see the reason why people hate the people.

Also, the some of the gaians who don't read the rules end up spamming a lot, which people hate.

This place is special and unique from gaia, with different clothes, games, and ways to earn gold. They are the same idea, but they are both unique in there own ways.

So try to cheer up! It's not the end of the world when people are mean to you just because of something. Just ignore them! They aren't worth arguing to! <3

I hope this message helped you to cheer up in anyway!

Hrm...Well, I definitely haven't been using this website that long, considering I basically just joined. But I do find it rather offensive that most of the people look down on Gaia. I myself am a Gaia lover. But I do agree with the fact that a majority of the people on Gaia have no sense of literacy whatsoever...

The reason I joined this site is because I saw the advertisement on GAI!.

I am a GAIAN!

I am not a hacker!

I am not a scammer!

I am not a pedophile!

Stereotyping is something that only people of low intelligence participate in!

Those of you who go along with the "gaia-hate" should be ashamed of yourselves!

Hey...I come from Gaia. I don't think my typing is that bad, and I can hold a decent conversation. And Gaia is a huge site, with not so many people looking after it. That's why they have a report system, because they need help. Sheesh, I can't stand it when people slap lables on you just because you come from one place or another. It's just as bad as slaping a label on someone because of skin, gender, or anything else. Wait until the person talks to say something, not before.

I like gaia because I've been on that site for a long time. But this site is most likely going to be fun too and it'll give me something to do when gaia is not working.

  • I’ve been on gaia since 03, and it is STILL one of my favorite avatar sites. I like Mene as well though and Subeta. Both sites known I’m from gaia but I haven’t had any hate for it yet and I doubt I’ll get any. I personally don’t think the hate is directed towards Gaia since most of us have accounts there – but to the users who are coming on here spamming in the name of gaia.

On the other hand though, I do agree the add was offensive (even if it wasn’t meant to be so). It should have never had gaia’s name in it at all. That’s just asking for trouble.

That's a very good point. I like the relaxed rules there sometimes, but I also enjoy visiting communities with higher standards of behavior. It's like, I enjoy spending time volunteering at an elementary school, but from talking carefully with the kids to talking maturely with the teachers, it's also nice to go to a relaxed school where I can speak a little more freely, and even nicer to be able to go home and not have to watch what I say or do.

I think I would prefer websites with higher standard rules, since I absolutely HATE illiteracy. It annoys me to death....especially when the chatspeak starts up... God I hate chatspeak...

For the people who hate chatspeak, well you can do what I did. I made my own thread, and put as one of the rules was not to use chatspeak. I mean I hate it when it's used as much as the next person, so I avoid any thread that has it. That simple. Make a thread, or just go to one that has a rule against chatspeak.

I TRIIIIED to make a literate thread, but a bunch of people got really angry at me.... so I just kind of gave up on it.

This has already been done several times in several threads.

If you wish to discuss Gaiaonline and compare and contrast with this site, or other sites, please go here:

If you wish to discuss the ad that we placed in tek tek, please go here:

And there is one similar to it in the site feedback located here:

Please relocate all discussion to those topics please. Thanks! <3
