Was there ever a time when you saved someone's life/your's?
Sometimes talking can make all the difference in someone's life..other times, it doesn't. Just because you aren't there physically, doesn't mean someone is alone.
Has anyone said something that impacted you so powerfully that you looked back..ready for a second chance? Have you given someone hope? I began to think back to my own expriences with someone like this..how I saved them from givin up, or how they saved me..how we each tried to run away, but in the end returned. My story goes something like this: About a half a year back, I had made a topic in GaiaOnline-I was questioning my worthiness as a person as well as searching for an answer.. Back then, life was exeedingly difficult, and I had no one to turn to. I honestly had those dark thoughts of ending it all..and that if I had a purpose it was to destroy other's lives. I felt out-of-place. No oneseemed to have any sense in their replies-except for one. It turned out that this person was suffering the same as me..maybe worse. We both have a social anxiety, but I was diagnosed with AS (Aserger's Syndrome) about a year back. After years of being misunderstood, here was finally someone who knew smething..and how life was with a social disorder. In the end we becam great frends and saved eachother's lives-just from words. So..my question is- Has this happened to you? Were you a guardian in someone's eyes..or were they watching over you? I would like to hear your stories. =) |
I've saved someone's life literly. A now exboyfriend of mine was trying to leave my house one day so that he could go and jump off of a bridge. No joke. I wouldn't let him leave my house, and forced him to stay the night. And that bastard never even thanked me. Grrr. And ditched me at the side of a curb (figuritively).

When i was little a friend of mine and i wanted to feed the duckies at the pond. We whent to close and she fell in the pond. I asked her if she could swim in the water and when she didn't respond but was floating in shock (I think) i ran to her house and got her brother. (I could run quite fast for my age but when her brother heard she was in the pond i really was awwed by how fast he could run!) She was saved by her brother when i finally came on the scene rather out of breath. When i whent home with my mother and stepfather in the train she held bread in her hand and it smelled like the family smell of my friend and when she fell in the pond. I really couldn't stand it and whent nauscious. At first i had nightmares and was scared about meeting her again but after we met lateron everything whent back to normal! It was quite shocking for me at the time! The pond got itself a fence since she wasn;t the first to fall into it.

Mhm. My boyfriend said if he had never met me, he probably would have killed himself.
But I have no dramatic stories of pushing someone out from in front of a train or anything like that. XD |

Well a year ago when I asked my boyfriend out, he was very surprised and he told me that, that night he was telling himself how ugly and selfish he was and stupid and he was planning on killing himself that very night.
O.O But he said he never wants to think about death. Because death means we will be seperated. :] |
Well..I saved someone once before, maybe nto from death but I'd love to believe I did. :3
My Nana was innocently watching the Tennis games on TV when I was just 7 or so. I was on the floor..probably playing with my action figures or something when I looked up and saw a abnormally HUGE poisonouse-looking spider slowly spindling itself down towards my Nana's head!! I could TELL it was going to bite her because 1. It had a poisonous look to it. (Big, Grey, Flat, Red stripes.) 2. Why else would it be heading for my Nanas head instead of anything else?? So I panicked and took the broom next to the door and did a total Bruce Lee attack on it. >D I jumped up, swung, HIYAA and smacked it across the room then did a little overkill on it: I ran up to the twitching spider on the floor and started whacking the crap out of it. :3 "THATS FOR PLANNING ON EATING MY NANA, YOU JERK!" >;D |

Yeah..that would be something! "Look out, I'll save you!" =O Hmm..my dad works with trains and security, and one time there was guy who actually stepped in front of the train.. |

I hope before I die I make an impact on someone's life. If you've never read the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven, you should. It's a great book, short too, that deals with everyone affecting each other in some way or another. No one has made that big of an impact on me, nor have I ever pushed someone out of the way of a speeding car or something like that, but I've still got a lot of life to live.
|
I've been saved before and I've saved people's lives.
The one time that comes to mind is when a coworker was going to have an abortion and I talked her out of it. |

(By the way, don't forget. You're not supposed to two or three times in a row) |

Alrighty, great! I'll look it up sometime, thanks! Yes! That's the beauty of it; time. |
I forgot to mention a time when I was saved... I was running towards an oncoming train and my friend pushed me out of the way just in time.
|
My friend Gabriel saved my life before.
Multiple times. One time he grabbed me by my shirt when I was about to cross this street on my board... I flew back off my board and it shot out into the street. A car going...I don't know, probably 80 down a public back road street plows over my board. It would have been me. ._. And one time I was skateboarding a line down this crazy sloped sidewalk. I went off a high ledge'd step ramp (Broken up sidewalk forming a bank ramp) and I lost control in the air. I smacked my head on a gate and busted my shit open. ;-; Glad he was there. He helped me up and walked me home. I probably would have just sat their knocked out and eventually die from blood loss. D; I guess he didn't really 'save my life.' It was mostly circumstantial. But still. xD |
@ promised_forever- You sure got lucky there, trains are fast!
@ Clickmyname- That's amazing.. Even if it was by chance, it still made a difference! =) You are lucky to have that friend. To everyone- I apologize for my apparent spamming, and thank you Cherry Flovored Antacid for informing me of this error I've made. |

@Clickmyname : Something like that happened to me recently. I was about to cross the street to meet my very good friend, Steve, for the first time 9we met on the net), and my mother grabbed me and I stumbled backwards and saw a car speed right on by where i would have been standing if it wasn't for the fact that my mother saved my life. You know what I said to her? "Thanks for saving me life. Seriously." It was exactly the truth. I knew immediately that I would have been killed. |
I've saved two people and been saved once.
First time it was me by myself at night, a friend decided to end her life just like that and I had to physically restrain her & drag her away from jumping. Second person I'll give the cops a little credit, they talked her down from jumping (I had called them, they got there amazingly fast), the only reason I don't give them all the credit was because they failed to stay with her at the hospital, she left and I had to talk her out of ODing. It was a nurse who saved me, the doctors and paramedics working that night were all idiots :( |
