recently i started a thread about yaoi and shounen ai and all i got was stupid replies from people having a go at its existence
its stupid really because if i saw a thread about something i hate i wouldn't go in and start going on about how rubbish it is i mean talk about stupid your going into a thread where fans are most likely to hang out and chat and you insult it

i mean thats like walking into a dog house covered in blood drenched meat where the dogs have not been fed for several days lol

i mean seriously come one
anyone else got something like this that really annoys you?

anime related or not?

I don't like yaoi or shonen-ai, honestly I find it freaky, so I avoid any topics that deals with them. The only time I would complain is if the topic creator didn't give out a warning before hand, I don't like stumbling into those things if I could avoid them.

I don't get why some people just want to ruin the fun for others though. I may not like it, but I don't think it's right to irritate others who do.

To each their own as they say.

I'm sorry but if you start a thread and ask people if they enjoy controversial material, you're bound to get a slew of different answers. By starting a second thread on a very slow moving forum it's almost as though you're trying to incite more controversy. The best thing to do would be to remain clear in your initial post what your expect in reply. Request that if people disagree with you that they please remain civil about it. The maturest way to deal with it would to be to suck it up and ignore the things you don't agree with or continue the conversation by stating politely why you disagree with them. Maybe the conversation you're looking for would be better initiated by asking which yaoi manga and anime people are into instead of what they think of it?

To each their own, yes.

People here need to understand that mene is after all a community of discussion. You will run into topics that you don't like. People will say things that don't go along with your beliefs. And that doesn't give you the right to do something immature and flame them or tell them they shouldn't post at all. It's your responsibility to watch where you go. Such is life.

When I see something I know will just upset me, I think about whether or not it will be productive for me to put in my two cents. And if I know a topic is just not my thing, I leave it alone.

Okay... wrong forum so I'm gonna move this to the GD.

Oh that topic, I actually like yaoi and shonenai and hate it when people just sit there and flame you. I mean it's like seriously, if you hate it why did you click on the thread? But yeah what Jania wrote is sound advice.

And if someone is flaming you, you can report it to the mods. ^^

I think some people just like to talk too much, so they'll have an opinion on anything, just for the sake of talking >.<
I'm sure some of them don't even realise they're being rude, they just post before they engage their brain.
Then you get the morons who just like to argue and upset people, but it's not worth giving those types the satisfaction of knowing they've got to you.

Or they're making a faux argument/playing devil's advocate to get gold XD!! hahaha... okay that probably doesn't happen much.

But yeah, a lot of people just want to get a reaction. They get jollies that way.

I would have to agree that going on to a thread just to insult the person who started the topic very annoying. And it has happened to me once, as it happened just yestarday.

By the way, what is yaoi? Not into anime, so no clue.

Don't you hate it when people start threads about hating it when people start other threads?
