That;s called "Phishing". It happened to me once. I got a P.M. from someone saying that I could win a free Kiki Kitty if I went on her profile and posted "#119119" on her comments. I tried, but I got sent to a gaia screen saying I was logged out. The ligin was at the top where you're avatar is supposed to be. I logged in there, only to be sent back to another Gaia login screen. So, I hit my "Home" button, and it said I was logged in. Obviously, I changed my password right away. It's sad, really. I feel bad for you.

I got hacked a while ago. Few years. Probably lost ... eh, 4mil in items at that point. I hate to think what it would all be worth NOW. I still don't know how someone got in. I never shared my password and I'm extremely careful of fishing and I promptly delete any mail I get about "You've won!" blah blah blah. It still blows my mind.

I went back, but I feel the pain. Gaia doesn't do ANYTHING to help hacked people get their stuff back, either. That really irritates me. ._.

i have gotten hacked and banned for no reason too its annoying >.< like when i got hacked i lost 300k becasue my friend that goes in my account to help me and stuff i tell him my password because he forgets sometimes well his cousin whos a hacker was talking to me and i didnt know and he logged on and stole my 2 ancinet katanas >.< atleast he didnt steal everything though i feel really stupid and know we have a code so i know whos on and stuff and this other time i got banned for no reason whatsoever it was pretty unfair same for my friend that had 5mill a whole 5mill its really stupid how someone can report you and gaia banns you

it really irritates me too ._. when you fill out one of the forms you get back one item if your lucky and thats if your lucky it could take months to get everything you lost back maybe even longer than that >.<

Gaia's monitoring process is incredibly sloppy. You'd think if they have enough money to do 3D animated shorts, they could pay people to do a better job of tracking forums and user activity. Randomly, really old informative threads I made will be thrown into chatterbox with a PM saying I didn't follow the rules. While threads I made that even I consider "spammy" by Gaia's rules stay for the long run. Not only that but vurtually 75% of all threads made on Gaia technically belong in chatterbox according to their rules. It's like moderators sporadically decide to actually moderate. It's quite bothersome and I feel Gaia's half-ass-attitude is reflected throughout their site in areas that don't make real money. But that's just me being bitter and grumpy.

Anyway, that's horrible that you were hacked. I'm glad you were able to get your account back for a little while at least. Like someone else said, it's always good to have a different name and password where-ever you go.

I'd just sound like a broken record if I ran through my list of Gaia gripes here, sounds like most everyone has the same issues. I strongly agree with Anahita on their sloppy moderation process. I had one account banned for 'botting or recieving botted goods' within a week of its creation, and it had not traded with any accounts other than my main, which is still around. I'd just write that one off as a random 'oops' if I had not seen so many other people around the same time be banned for the same exact reason.

Overall, I think 'sloppy, inconsistent, and biased' describes the moderation process at Gaia fairly well. It also annoys me that they do nothing about the rather blatant bots and scammers for some weeks, long after the owner of the bot has safely made off with the gold.

Ode yes, My account on Gaia got banned for 2 weeks for the said posting of selling naked pictures of myself. I got on a mule account and told a mod about it and they said to wait it out. I told them I wasn't, to go look at the post history to show them that I didn't do it. They didn't listen to me of course. That is the only thing I don't like about Gaia. The MODS don't listen.

Sorry you got hacked though. I was hacked before as well. Lost over 600k in gold and items. I was mad. I still believe they will give me my items and gold back sometime. [I hope...]

my accoutn got hacked to but it wasnt a menewsha person [[ well not that i know of]] i got banned for pass fishin i got 73K stolen and mah summoning tome and since i got banned for pass fishin i cant get back the items "he/she genously left over" plus i got my avatar deleted T.T but i had an old account VERY POOR so i reported the hack and well nothing happened T.T CHEAP

Hmm a friend of mine got banned for 'botting', which was
a false accuse, Gaia Online is the biggest star in that.

I heard that so many times, and so many times
I saw people return to Gaia Online and start over...
I think I say the same now, but if I ever get hacked
I would only make an account to check out the newest
monthly collectables.

Crap, that worries me.

I guess everyone has been screwed by Gaia at least once. Sadly, I can easily see it going the same way as Neopets. Originally they promised that the advertising stuff would be very rare, and only for really good stuff. We can all see how THAT has changed in about five months...

It seems like the owners are satisfied with the number of people they have, and have shifted their emphasis from making a cooler place to attract more people into making money from their users.

I've never been hacked before, and I hope I never will be.

My friend has been hacked on her MapleStory account though. She was a lvl 60 something mage. Major bummer. But she got the account back, with everything stolen from her. :<

I was hacked once. . . (or maybe twice) it was on Neopets too. . .

I have no idea who did it, it was a long time ago, but i got the account back almost immediately. . . that's it. . .

Aww I know how you feel, I was what I beleive was hacked. My old account on gaia was rukeoie, I was never really into buying item's for my avi but instead I alway's donated to people's quest's so I have never had more than 10k In pure gold at one time.

So one day I decided to save up some gold and I made my first 30k and bought random item's and made a new avatar for me until on the 3rd of september My account was suddenly logged off.

I tried logging back on but it was saying my password or account name was wrong, So I used both the recover name and password tool but my email address was now accessed to an account sukeoie which none of my item's were on.

So I searched my old account rukeoie and it still had the item's on it and it still does now. I'm still in the process of recovering because I have recently started donating again.
