Inescapable part of our lives
Quote:
Which got me wondering, what is imminent and unescapable? Human thrive and depend on consistency - what do we know will always be there tomorrow? What do you depend on it being there tomorrow? Also, as seen in my quote above - I was trying to think of a joke. Crack some for me. I once watched a show where they said "There are three things we can never excape : death, taxes, and paparazzi" It was a hong kong show and they were talking about celebrities and privacy issues. Like how we all know some celebrity will do something stupid today and appear on the news tomorrow. Edit: Outline of discussion: What do you believe is an inescapable part of our lives? What is something that we know will still be there tomorrow? What is something you depend on still being there tomorrow and every day after that? Guess I should start first! My dad is very pessimistic - he believes I should never trust anyone except myself - even my mom, him, and my lil sister. I, on the otherhand, have to depend on my friends and my family's love and support for me to continue struggling through everyday life. I can not imagine losing that tomorrow. It's (hopefully) inescapable that the sun rises and sets everyday. And that gravity is still in place on earth. Or we'd be floating off into space! O.o |
*nods head*
very true |
Honestly?
I think the ever unchanging part of our lives is that we are alive. One day that will change, and we won't wake up. But maybe after that? Maybe we'll go somewhere, start over. Maybe there's something out there, and this is just the first part of our journey. |
@king99 - what are you agreeing with me with? Lol - I wrote a bunch of stuff so I just wanted to know. @Aidan Montague - We can't take that for granted but it's probably one of the few things throughout our lives that is consistent, as long as we're alive. Unless, of course, you get into an accident and is certified "technically dead" for a couple of minutes or something. Watched that on House. ^ ^ |
something that will be there tomorrow ...hmm.. well hope will always be there.
hope that things will get better hope that the people i love who have died are in a better place. another thing would be life , people would always there perhaps not the same but someone will be there no matter what. someone once told me that life is like a book. you have a chapter in that book but like every chapter it must end but the book continues without you. (please note that this book is life and it never ending) and new chapters are written every day. so death will be there in my life and so will the death of my family but so will hope and faith and energy of life. |
What do you believe is an inescapable part of our lives?
Death, Heartbreak, Hunger, Thirst, Physical and Emotional Pain, and Walmart - no matter where you are. What is something that we know will still be there tomorrow? Nothing. The entire galaxy could collapse on itself in the blink of an eye tonight. Then what? What is something you depend on still being there tomorrow and every day after that? My house, my computer, means of nourishment, my girlfriend, and pretty much everything else. What's the point of living if only a select few things exist? |
@kittystar98 - wow. Life and death from a book, that is a beautiful analogy.
@Nathuram - lol, Walmart. Well, if the entire galaxy collapses on itself later tonight, I guess we'll have to wait for the next 'Big Bang' and have everything start over from scratch again. |
haha :3
i was agreeing i think about things like this too |
The book analogy reminds me of taoist philosophy. There's life, and there's death. There's always death, but life always continues (Thus not making death life's opposite). But without the Way, life wouldn't continue.

An inescapable part... Hmm.. being born, pain, love, death.. Any regular needs.. And of course...You can never escape from yourself... At least not for long..
We can't really know if something will still be here tomorrow. Unless you believe you are a psychic. Otherwise... Well.. Nothing lasts forever.. Or maybe some things do. I really don't know. ... Air I suppose. The internet, my job, things like that... |
Quote:
Nathuram: wow that is a lovely saying. i have not heard that one and now i will remember it for life. that is to beautiful |
Quote:
Also, I could do what they did in Live Free or Die Hard and start a firesale and get rid of the internet. Oh, and the building you work in could be destroyed by a fire :] Same with things you like.. unless you like fires. Moral of this post: Pretty much anything can be destroyed by a fire. |

Maybe, but air is something everyone needs... it's everywhere. On our planet at least. The only way to escape would be... Well you can't. Oxygen itself is in the water... You'd have to leave earth... Hmm.. Or perhaps be locked in a chamber with no air. If such a thing exists.
|
I depend on my family and friends being there tomorow and every day after. What I think will be there tomorow will be me and my memories. An inescapable part would be my past. Unless I lose my memories then I cannot run away from it.
|
@fuyumi_saito - I agree. No matter what you do, or where you are, you always have to face yourself. Any we all depend on air being there when we wake up or we'd die in our sleep O.O
@Nathuram - are you a fellow pyromaniac? ^o^ @kittystar98 - so, what if the Universe, not just Earth, is destroyed? @woopdidoodoo - they say your past always catches up with you. And most people who lose their memories will still be haunted by their past whenever a person they don't remember meets them. For example, owing someone money before you lost your memory. |
:/
Death isn't something I can make a joke about. I would just feel bad about it if I did. Sorry xD |
@PsychoRabbit - No, the joke I wanted to make was like Nathuram's - Unescapable things in our lives - Death and (for example) Walmart.
That's what I meant. Something to fill in this blank - death and ______. I could think of hundreds... but I know I'm lame on jokes. >.< |
we had this discussion before in class...as long as there is life, there will be death.. it will not stop....... that time, and human nature.... there will always be time.. time is always coming and going...... it will never end...... and human nature... as long as there are humans, there is human nature.....
