There are alot of things that you pull that cause the opposite of pain.
But ya know what?
I'm not going to get into that for fear of being banned xDDD

All in all
Getting your teeth pulled doesn't hurt.
I was high as a kite when he was doing in, and I didn't feel a thing.
At least, not until an hour after I got home and I realized my mouth was leaking blood, lol.

Very very bad choice.
My mouth is literally throbbing with pain no matter what I do.
The numbing stuff lasts about 15 minutes.
Advil lasts for a half-hour.
Rinsing with warm salt-water does jack squat.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I accidently OD on Advil?
Anywho, here's what's to discuss:
Have you ever had your wisdom teeth pulled?
Did they hurt?
What did you do to relieve the pain?

Alright, I'm not gonna lie....you're gonna be in pain for quite a while. Your doctor/dentist should have prescribed you with either vicodin or hydrocodone. The latter is just the non-brand name of the first. They are opiates that bind to your spinal column to prevent the nerves from sending the pain signals from your body to your brain. They usually say to take 1 pill....but you can take 2 at a time if I isn't doing it enough. Trust me, I asked my doctor if that was ok, and he said it was. Now, here's the problem, once you're out of those pills....you're out. There is a very LOW chance that you'll be able to get them refilled. This is because people can get addicted to those pills. Trust me, you're gonna want to use those pills. Now, once they are gone, you should take 3 advils every 4-6 hours. Trust me, you won't overdose. Eventually, it will feel better, but the pain will come back after a while because there are still bone fragments in your gums that need to work their way out. Hate to say it, but they hurt like hell.....I have a new found respect for babies that go through teething now lol. Keep taking the advil, play with the fragments and try to get those little devils out. After that, you're in the clear :) I wish you the best of luck :)

>_< Ouch. I feel for you. I honestly do. I've had several teeth pulled, one without any anesthetic because it was infected and just ate it up before it could even take effect.

My dentist is always kind enough to dose me up nice and well with percoset though. I take one of those and two hours later two ibuprofen. Then repeat until my prescription runs out.

Is there anyway you can call back and ask for a prescription for something a bit stronger then advil? Otherwise you might just be stuck with the pain until your gums heal.

Mine hasn't even finished growing yet.. At least I don't think so, not all of them..
So I don't know anything about the pain..

My sister is having hers removed in november and they have to split one or they wont get it out, ouch.. :?

Don’t smoke while they hurt… you’re just asking for an infection. Ummm… lots of Orajel and Some heavy-duty Naproxin Sodium or ibuprofen or something and if that doesn’t work you could always get someone to punch you in the gut to distract you from your mouth pain.

xDDD!
I was actually thinking of slamming my head into a wall or irritating my little sister enough so that she pushed me down the stairs or something x.x
Goddamn does it hurt ><
And, will I really get an infection if I smoke?
Because if that's true, then I'm screwed O_o;;

I had all 3 of my wisdom teeth removed at once (yes, there was only 3 of them). And they recommend some pain killers that were the size of horse pills! But they really did do the trick. Um, I didn't notice any pain on the first day because I didn't have a good reaction with the anesthetics and was sick the entire day. I was more annoyed with running to the bathroom every hour than the pain. The next couple of days I would just try to sleep off the pain. The salt water thing is just a way t keep your gums clean. I don't think it's really suppose to get rid of the pain. But a warm, moist cloth helped! And jello. I always found eating jello soothing.

I'm thouroughly convinced that after I had my wisdom teeth removed, all my wisdom went with them. XDDD

I feel freaking DUMB sometimes.

  • Wait, you're smoking? o_o
That is going to make your mouth take longer to heal! Try to lay off on the cigs. xD
I inhaled painkillers like oxygen and sucked ice cubes when I got my wisdom teeth out, haha.

Mine are just starting to grow in. D: and they hurt. It's just the top ones though. So, its no fun. And I don't go to the Dentist's until November. The left one is almost fully grown out, and the right one is taking its sweet time! D:<
Damn Wisdom teeth. I've never really understood why we grow them. Or why they get taken out.
I've had teeth taken out once, they were the ones beside my two front teeth xD. I have these bone things growing in the top of my mouth.( D: i'm a freak)and he thought they were teeth so he yanked em out. Come to find out. They never had to be removed. What a bugger eh? And I have a deadly fear of needles and he used a needle to freeze my mouth. So i'm afraid if I have to get my wisdom teeth removed.

Dystopia 10-21-2007 03:12 PM

O_o; That sounds particularly painful... I'm scared of getting my wisdom teeth removed when I get them, so I'm just going to keep them until it gets necessary to get rid of them. Dx; Or is it necessary to remove then once you get them!?
