- The last week I’ve been pretty sick with an Upper respiratory virus and although I’m on medication it refuses to work. So my mom’s been trying a bunch of home remedies. I have to hand it to my mom, usually what she does works. This morning though I woke up and shuffled into the kitchen like I was the star of “Shawn Of The Dead”, to see my mom in the back yard filling up a basket with… dandelion leaves…
Curious I asked? “Mamma, what are you doing?”
“Picking you dinner.”
“SAY. WHAT?”
“Dinner.”
So yes, my mom has been trying to get me to eat dandelions all day. Just no, I love you but I’m not eating the damn weeds. I don’t care if you boil `em, mash `em or put them in a stew. No. I draw the line at weeds from the backyard.
Apparently they are really good for me and will help my immune system. It’s hard enough to get me to eat greens, let alone dandelions =_=.
((Btw: My mom normally isn't as bonkers as this. XD))

You're text is so small, light, and well this, it's so hard to read. I have to highlight it to actually see what you wrote. :o
I never really understood home-made remedies...I doubt that they would work.
But eh, it's not like my mom is trying to feed me weeds when I'm sick. D:
Ehh...good luck with it? :o

- @ Nitemare - D=. The font is the almost the same color as yours. Just italicized.
I don't understand most home remedies as well, but her acne one actually worked wonderfully and I haven't had it in over 4 years X_X.

I thought you were supposed to eat the stems. O_o
Anyway, yeah...sometimes I'd rather be sick than deal with certain...treatments. :| And eating dandelion leaves is definitely on that list.

- @ Lightswitch - Yes dandelions D=. Technically just the leaves though.
@ Nitemare - D=< Rawr. It's actually I think a shade on the brighter side. The color you have is actually my favorite color xD
@ Brain Damnage - I think the stems actually can make you sick due to the white liquid in it.
@ 'clockwork - My moms says it taste almost like spinach. Just a tad more bitter.

But it is true, it will help your immune system.
Although, I thought it was the root.
Anyways, good luck with that! :3
Just remember, parents can be weird at times! :X

Hmmm...it's more than possible that I'm wrong...I don't really eat the things in my front yard very often. XD Although I will chew on mint leaves if I find those...
Well I just looked it up real quick, and while it doesn't say that the stems will make you sick, it does mention that the liquid inside can be used as a mosquito repellent or a wart remover. O_o Yeah, I don't think I'd want to eat that...must've been a different plant stem I was thinking of...

Ahhh...spinach is really good. :D It's pretty mild, really...I like it in my salads because I can't really taste it but I know it's good for me...you should try it sometime; it's no where near as gross as people make it out to be.

- @ RoyalSquishy - It probably will, but I'm to wimpy to try it xD. I freely admit that. Where would we be without our weird parents D=. I'll probably cave in eventually when she starts screaming at me in italian. For now I'm testing the waters xD.
@ Clockwork - It's good, well at least I think so =3.
@ Brain Damnage - D=... heaven behold if I ever get a wart. I'll be attacked by the dandelions of doom again xD.

XD At least you won't be expected to consume them then...it looks like you can just rub some of that stuff on a wart and it'll allegedly go away...
Kind of weird...you'd think they'd stop cutting and burning those suckers off if it were as simple as grabbing a dandelion stem and smearing it on...sounds a little suspect to me...

- @ Brain Damnage - you have a very valid point there. If it was really such a magic worker, then why do we go nuts to get rid of them. Also, wouldn't we see them in cosmetic and antibiotic creams then D=. Instead we have Aloe oil. (Sp?)

I'd expect that to be something my grandma would do >__<
She's pretty crazy when it comes to home remedies.
I'm glad my mom isn't as strange. If it's something that doesn't absolutely require a doctor's prescription, she'll make a cup of tea, give me some cold medicine and tell me to go to sleep.
