So my dog is obese...

Yea. He's completely fat, or so says the vet.

And I have to take him on two 45 minute walks a day.

DISCUSS!:

1. Fat animals
2. Dogs
3. Long walks
4. Stuff.

Lightswitch Raves 10-23-2007 05:10 AM

I hate obese animals.

:'[

Astromantic 10-23-2007 05:10 AM

Poor thing. What do you feed it? And how many times a day? O_o

Canned dog food twice a day.

But we give him lots of treats. D: It's so hard not to. He is a food obsessed dog and he just sits there with these sad eyes, and you can't help it...

Who cares?

It's fat, and also dogs are overpopulated.

Yea. Well he doesn't LOOK fat but you have to be able to feel their ribcages and I didn't know that...

Weird.

What's next?

Anorexic dog syndrome?

I still think that hairballs are a cat's way of bulimia. O:

Komitadjie 10-23-2007 05:45 AM

I vote for a treadmill and a timer, myself.

zumbie 10-23-2007 05:45 AM

I guess if you don't feed your dog...it'll be anorexic. o.O

Good luck walking your dog XD

Obese dogs really don't look obese, do they? It disturbed me so much when we learnt that my Beagle was obese -- he looked perfectly healthy to me, but apparently not.

My dog is at a healthy weight now, because my mother and sister have been walking a lot in the mornings these past few weeks/months. He's slimmed down a lot, and looks a lot happier for it. :)

Beagles are horrible for that though. My auntie has a beagle and they have to be on very strict diets.

Hmm.. I wonder what caused it. Do you know?

My darling dog is chubby now.
Most of the time she is very heathly lean dog since she loves to run around.
She is so active. My family takes her for 20-30 minutes walk at least twice a day..
But since it's getting colder, she's getting a little chubbier..
My family lives where it snows a lot, so when it's cold and icy, it's dangerous for the person who's walking the dog,
so we taker her for shorter walks.

mewmew07 10-23-2007 06:23 AM

two fo my three cats are fat. I mean, not super, super big, but they jiggle when they walk. We feed them like 3-4 times a day. and they eat human food, cause they are huge beggers. Though the vert doesn't really say that they are obese. They could just lose a pound or two.

Loony Lynn 10-23-2007 06:32 AM

You have not seen an obese dog. =P
My uncle's...mother's, niece has a fat dog. (What is that to me?) And while in Cali, I should have made my exercise to chase that dog around the block for an hour. It was fat. O.O But...I couldn't help feed it treats to make it fatter. >.< But yeah...I should have chased it around the block.

  • Most of my dogs are fat, but we don't mind. ^^ They are just pets and children to us, they are also quite happy with their lives so we don't bother...

Well, My puppy gets walks cause he's a hyper fat thing.. who has a thing for biting me in the arse. >.o

StormRose 10-23-2007 07:33 AM

I found out today, that my cat is ten pounds. She doens't look that big. And our newest little one is already 6. Animal weights are deceptive I've decided.

Wingo 10-23-2007 07:41 AM

My cat is overweight too! All she does is sit on her fat arse and eat, but she is so adorable!! There's nothing like a chubby cat to cuddle up to!!

StormRose 10-23-2007 07:45 AM

*nodS* I have a fat lazy cat next ot me now. She has decided she owns my bed...x_X And my whole room...and I think, me.

  • Be glad you don't have a fat dog who thinks she owns you.. or two infact. >< I've got two dogs [both females might i add] that love me to death.. One has claimed me since we got her, the other recently adopted me as her master cause her's moved out..

StormRose 10-23-2007 08:08 AM

Awww.... saaad for the second dog.

Yeah, I only get mad at her when she scares the other cats away. I mena, she will get up, zip across the room, just to hit the other cat. She'll even chase it halfway and probably more down the hall...

I'm not a dog person. I want something that if it's on my chest still lets my breath....

Kiralisha 10-23-2007 08:09 AM

I hate walking my dog. I mean, I love the little fluff monster to bits, but I hate walking him. He's a small dog so walkies are more of a treat for him than a need. He is soo thin; all fur, no substance.

bah, stuff the bed. My cat owns the house. She's queen and the two other younger, male cats are her lackeys. If my lazy cat wishes to lay in the middle of the floor in everyone's way, she will and wont move for anyone.

Zombie Secks 10-23-2007 08:14 AM

  • Well, the second one orignaly claimed me.. but the first one decied she didn't want that so my brother started playing with her and she eventually adopted him as her puppy. [Puppy mill dog, rescued!]

Most dogs don't lay on your chest.. only the 75lb ones that think they are small dogs.. [I laid down oneday and wound up with a standard poodle puppy on my chest. o.x I learned not to lay on the couch when trying to sleep.. freggin dog.]

manic monochrome 10-23-2007 08:34 AM

my cat is ridiculously obese.
her tummy drags on the floor when she walks.
but she makes a good pillow<3
