But nobody remembers that.
Everyone was super afraid of microwaves when they first came out, because of that.
And they made up some rule like 'STAND TWENTY FEET AWAY FROM THE MICROWAVE WHILE IT'S COOKING.'
And people did.
And slowly stopped doing so.
And that would probably help in this situation.

yeah really. i have to completely agree. while considerable improvements have been made to microwaves since then, it does not mean that people should disregard the fact that there may be a potential risk, while rare, when using the microwave, and should still exercise caution. good point.

lol, i think leftovers, and frozen dinners, as long as they don't contain liquid are completely safe. i haven't heard any disaster stories about food in general being a potential harm. however, it seems like liquid and the microwave is not a good match to begin with. ultimately, the microwave, unlike other products, is an appliance of convenience, and i still feel if people feel really concerned then they can simply avoid this situation entirely by considering another heat source. but if you do put liquid in the microwave, just be aware that there is a risk, while small, of a potential harmful situation, and that you do need to take extra precaution when putting liquid in the microwave.

xD I've totally done that before.
Whenever I'm feeling lazy and microwave water for something, i move the glass a bit and it erupts.
Not all over the place though, so its, uh, safe. Its cool to watch. I always stick a spoon or something in the water and watch it boil for a few seconds. xD

I want to supercool something- Ive seen videos and its awesome. n_n
