I found the article about the boy in the Evangelion thing

http://www.anime-source.com/banzai/m...rticle&sid=569

These people really need to get out more. .-. Or, actually.. stay somewhere away from people since they've already hit the point of killing in the name of fiction.

Nathuram 10-24-2007 03:37 AM

The article says that all that was found was an abdomen and two thighs? Who does that? If you're going to kill someone, give them the decency to be discovered in-tact. Here I was thinking we were talking about your run-of-the-mill anime killer, too.

I'm going to start killing people via electric shock and leaving notes saying "Pikachu was here."

@Il Palazzo: Evangelion is not to blame. That kid is purely psychotic. I've watched my fair share of Evangelion, but you don't see me running amuck in giant suits, destroying all humans because everything is just a shape.. so what am I?

He was 22, which is even worse .. And his sentence was only 14 years in prison.

StarBlazerM31 10-24-2007 03:42 AM

Wow. That is without a doubt one of the dumbest stunts I have ever heard someone pull. I've always said that really impressionable people shouldn't watch certain animes. :?

Oh yeah, I know that. I'm not blaming Evangelion or it's creators. The only ones that need to be blamed are the ones who watch these shows and actually believe what's going on is true or whatever. These kids really need to get out more and experience life for what it is, and not what the little animated figures on their screen are acting out what they want it to be. .-.;

Nathuram 10-24-2007 04:05 AM

@Il Palazoo: Woops.. I don't know why I put @Il Palazoo: in my last post. That post wasn't directed towards you x3 I guess I put it there by accident because you're the one who posted the article.

Il Palazzo 10-24-2007 04:08 AM

xD That makes sense now. I was rereading my posts thinking to myself "when did I say something about that..."
Happens to the best of us.

fuyumi_saito 10-24-2007 04:13 AM

Are you sure she's not just pulling your chain? That sounds pretty bogus to me. I haven't heard anything of it. Did you check to see if what she said was true?

Winter Wind 10-24-2007 04:14 AM

o.o

It's amazing how some people take fantasy to be reality.

-.-;

Nathuram 10-24-2007 04:22 AM

@fuyumi_saito: Someone posted a link to the article on page 2, I think.

@Winter Wind: Some people have mental conditions that majorly contribute to things like this. It's not like there's some normal guy at his house reading a manga and going "Wow! This is so cool. They can just do that and get away with it? I bet I can too!" Psychopaths, for example, can't differentiate between what society says is right and wrong.

RoyalSquishy 10-24-2007 04:28 AM

Talk about obsessed. :<

Now that's what I call going overboard. Why would someone actually kill people based off the manga?

CRAZY!

CRAZY!

The same reason they'd kill people based off a movie, book, or videogame. Because they're CRAZY! :]

fuyumi_saito 10-24-2007 04:37 AM

Ah...Well it still sounds fishy to me. If I hear about it elsewhere like on the news or the radio station I listen to, I'll believe it. Hmm... Well, hopefully the killer will be caught if it is true. They'll probably not be killed, but sent to a mental institute..I don't know how they do things over there though. It's probably what they'd do here..

Ryokumuji 10-24-2007 04:46 AM

ANOTHER anime related death? A girl in Kyoto just a couple of weeks ago killed her father with an axe. They tried to blame it on the anime "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai" and there were even some Japanese TV stations that stopped airing the anime.

All in all, I don't know what to say. If these people really are letting themselves be influenced by anime/TV shows/movies and what not, then isn't it LOGICAL to think, "Wow, they can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality. They must have much deeper issues than being 'influenced' by TV shows."

But no, of course not. Much easier to blame it on the TV shows or video games instead of getting to the TRUE root of the issue.

Skeleton Stockings 10-24-2007 06:52 AM

That's ridiculous! They didn't even kill the person right. If they knew the rules of Death Note it would've looked like suicide or an accident(totally didn't used to be a major fan of Death Note >_>).

Some people have serious mental issues. Next thing you know there's going to be an episode of Law and Order about it. They've already done Lonelygirl15 and Second Life.

He/she/they is/are retarded .

I heard that Mortal Kombat was very popular during Jack the Ripper's time. (Please note the heavy insertion of sarcasm.)

In the past people blamed the devil or god as a reason why they kill others. Now that Western society is a vaguely godless society we now are blaming other reasons for murdering.

Sagitar 10-24-2007 10:02 AM

oh my god.... some crazies in this world :/

Arousal 10-24-2007 10:46 AM

Maybe their real name was Kira?
Haha.
I wouldn't know though.

neur0mancer 10-24-2007 03:15 PM

I looked it up, and there are enough sites mentioning it.
The killer scribbled "Watashi wa Kira dess", which is a misspelling of "desu".
It means "I am Kira".

The note was found near body parts. o_O

Faggy 10-24-2007 05:10 PM

It sounds a little farfetched.

I don't believe it unless you can provide proof.
Like an article or whatever.

What are you talking about? They still blame the devil and god for murders. It's not uncommon to hear someone murdering someone else because 'God told them to do it.'

Faggy, I think someone posted a link to an article on the second page.

MasterChiefrei 10-24-2007 05:19 PM

Geez, that's so retarded. ><; They could've done it off of something a hell of a lot less nerdy! That's a killer I wouldn't be able to take seriously. If it said, "I am Jason" I think I'd be slightly more worried. XD

Shiho 10-24-2007 05:27 PM

Wow, that is pathetic. XD I bet the person who killed them where probably like... 14-15? But, if Death Note ever gets canceled, we know who to blame. >.>

XDD
I lol'd.

But on topic, that's completely ridiculous.
My guess is that the murderer thought it'd be cute or clever to tie it in with his favorite show, though the show itself did not influence the killing.
I'm not a fan of the show, or even of anime, but I do hope the show doesn't get canceled because of that. That would be even more ridiculous than the murder. People are going to be stupid no matter what is, or isn't on TV. If you cancel the thing that's caused accidents before (In this case, Death Note.) the stupid people will just be stupid about something else. Canceling a show doesn't end stupidity.
Just instead, they'll be trying to have a picnic with a bear, or throwing pokeballs at walruses.
