Ugh. Reports.

So I'm doing a report for Art.
Yes, art.
On some artist, and if I turn in the rough draft tomorrow, I get extra credit. So I've been doing the whole report in one day. Which I don't think is good.
I seriously didn't even research when he gave us time to research.
But I'm almost done, so it's all good.

Discuss;
~ Reports
~ Strange Artists
~ Hieronymus Bosch, and how disturbed he was.

Fil 10-26-2007 01:22 AM

You should write about how demented he was.
And then stray off-topic about his German/Russian-ness.
Hey, did you know that Germans made the hamburger?
The hamburger usually contains meat, but doesn't have any ham.
Ham as three letters. Do you know what else has three
letters? Cat.
I like cats. They're fluffy.

I love Bosch. <3

I also love writing reports.
I have to work on a college essay for my English class now, and I can't decide what I want to do. We only need to have one rough draft tomorrow, but I have three. One essay I wanted to write was the TUFTS University one where you just tell them about you. The other one was for School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston where you have to write about anyone who's ever inspired you. I couldn't decide who to write about, so I did two for that one; one about Norman Borlaug and the other about Francis Bacon.

So far I'm liking the Norman Borloug one, especially if I'm going to submit it. I'd imagine that an art school would get bored of essays about artists all the time, so writing about a humanitarian/scientist/Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Bosch actually interested me quite a bit, years ago. I did a report on a bunch of his paintings. I like the one with the blue bird eating the man. If I remember correctly, I think it was a painting of hell that had it on it. Anyway, reports never were my strong points when I was in school. I’d always put them off until the last minute, like everything else I did as far as school work goes.

fuyumi_saito 10-26-2007 01:29 AM

Once I had to do a report on Ancient Greek art. I got a good grade, but it was really hard to find all the information I needed. You should count yourself lucky for only having to do one artist. I didn't really focus on any particular artist, just the styles...and there were so many things the people of Athens did. Ugh. It took awhile to get done. Which I will now tell you a random fact about the greeks. They carved the heads of sculptures first, before they made the actual sculptures. You know, the body? I found that odd, and I couldn't find much else. Most the men also happened to be naked, so for the cover page I had to put a very odd picture of a headless angel chick sculpture there. Not only that, but it wasn't for art class. It was for theatre class.

There were many strange artist. In fact, probably most of them are strange...

Majinkoz 10-26-2007 01:31 AM

ewwwie I hate reports. I just got one assigned and it needs to be 10 pages minimum...I'm in college so it's not THAT bad but still...it sucks writing papers that are 6 pages or more.

And you have to do an art project no less D: Art is supposed to be a fun class...not a paper class.

phrank 10-26-2007 01:32 AM

It's not that I don't like writing reports,
it's just getting in the way of all the stuff I have to do today.
Like take a shower.
And Bosch is pretty awesome, just really odd.
My mother's friend had a part of 'The Garden Of Earthly Delights' tattoo-ed on her leg.
Yeah. She has pretty odd friends.
But they lost contact.
So I can't take a picture and be all 'CHECKITOUTMR.ARTTEACHER!!!'

Deadly Mango Kitty 10-26-2007 01:43 AM

I'm ok with writing essays, but I usually procrastinate and put it off until the last day. My teacher also NEVER gives us anytime to find a subject or research anything.

My last essay was about... oh wait, it was a short story! yeah, that's it. I wrote a short story called, " The Haunted garden gnome named Giggles the silly garden gnome." He thought it was disturbing. ^_^. It was funny.

phrank 10-26-2007 02:04 AM

I've always wanted to own a garden gnome.
They've always struck me as REALLY AWESOME.
And a haunted one named Giggles would make it better.

Fil 10-26-2007 02:35 AM

You know that garden gnome on those travel commercials?
He haunts my dreams. When I was smaller, I used to think that he was hiding underneath my bed and that he would jump up, scare me, and then eat me alive and use my intestines as a belt and my spine and ribs as a neat hat.

phrank 10-26-2007 02:39 AM

I've never had that 'monstersunderthebed' thing.
Ever.
Maybe once.
But that's about it.
But the Travelocity gnome is so cool.
He got stuck on the ceiling.
Cool, right?

Fil 10-26-2007 02:44 AM

Ceiling Gnome is Watching You Plan Your Travels.
And by 'Plan Your Travels,' I mean masturbate.
And by 'masturbate,' I mean decide where you want to go next Christmas. :3

I was always scared to go to the bathroom. I was scared that a skeleton would be in the toilet when I lifted the lid. Or a spirit thing would be in the mirror and it would eat me or something.

phrank 10-26-2007 03:06 AM

Or obviously the Travelocity garden gnome.

Fil 10-26-2007 03:08 AM

Yes, or that, Tom.
THIS JUST IN- This topic has been derailed.

No matter.
I SHALL RE-RAIL it with my BARE HANDS.

Psstt..
Phrank, what were we talking about, again?

phrank 10-26-2007 03:10 AM

Reports.
THIS JUST IN
I'm finished with my report, now.
x3
QUICKTYPER-FTW.
rofl.

Fil 10-26-2007 03:12 AM

THAT IS GREAT, TOM. Or, er, Phred.

This just in, again, I need to pee really frikkin' bad.
Seriously, I'm dancing in my seat.

phrank 10-26-2007 03:14 AM

I think that's considered spam, Fil.
And my name is Phrank.
Jeesh.
You seriously forgot it?
I'm hurt.
;~;
I have to take a shower anyways.
AHLLBEBAWCK.
Eh. Probably not.
There's a fly attacking the lightbulb.
It's going to burn up.

Fil 10-26-2007 03:21 AM

Ah, well, if they delete it, then you'd be double posting. :/
In the end, we both lose, and I get to bring you down with me, Paul.

Seriously, there are like, ten kajillion names that start with Phhh. It's hard to remember which one is yours. :/
Have fun shower-ing.

'Abstract 10-26-2007 03:26 AM

That just reminded me. I have to go see and play for drama and vist an art gallery for art. Then right a report on both. ugh.
I love both classes but it's really annoying to find time to do these things.

phrank 10-26-2007 03:45 AM

Writing reports last minute is not good.
But this isn't really last minute, I'm turning it in early for extra credit.
But it's much better if I convince myself this is the real due date.
Or I'll be all 'Pfsshh. Doesn't matter.'

Fil 10-26-2007 03:46 AM

I always, always do stuff last minute. Or at least the last day.
Like the vocabulary. And the diorama (I just ended up putting dirt in a box). And the three page report. :/

phrank 10-26-2007 03:50 AM

Dirt in a box?
Did you get like, a D?
Seriously.
I'd fail if I did that.

Fil 10-26-2007 03:54 AM

Well, maybe I exaggerated on that a little. It's what my dad called it.

It was supposed to be ruins, so I put some soil in there and arranged tanbark into a neat little tower. I tried to tape it together, since I didn't have any glue, but that didn't work, so all of my little tanbark pieces were liable to fall over.
I also had to present it. :3

zipperglow 10-26-2007 04:01 AM

I REALLY hate reports. I don't like writing all that much unless I totally love it. I only like writing when the subject is something I really want to write about. I am also vvveeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy sssssssllllllllllooooooooowwwwwwwwww. . . I wish I could write reports as fast as you Phrank. . .

Fil 10-26-2007 04:07 AM

He pecks.
8D I'm super cool, because I can type without looking at 100 mph.
Except I think slow, so that kind of keeps my efficiency down.
