So the thought occurred to me recently, how do some people feel they exist, that they will be remembered, that they where there.
Will you not exist? Do you? How do you feel that you do or don't? How do you as an individual leave your mark on things and the people around you? ^^
For example, I feel that I do exist and will be remembered by my family and the writing I do, their memories and the paper prove I was hear.

I exist and when I die, I will be remembered by millions..
I attempt to meet tons of people, doing what I do and attend to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated.
I believe everyone should have atleast someone out there that will remember them, none the less.

I do exist. And when I die, if I ever actually do, people will talk about me for centuries.
That is, if I accomplish any of what I intend.
My mark will be left on the earth, the sky, economics, mythology, art, even mortality itself.
Oh, and that whole Utopia thing. I think people will have a hard time forgetting that too.

I believe that I exist (and that other people exist to) but I have not yet thought about it deeply enough to say how I prove it, if I can.
I will die one day, and I do not believe that I have an immortal soul that will live on in any way. No afterlife, no reincarnation. The end of me will be complete. And damn it, no one will cheat me of my death.
I do plan to make a mark on the world. It may begin and end with the people I know and love, and thus eventually fade from living memeory, but I want to make my impression broader than that. I don't need to even necessarily be credited for it, and it doesn't have to be radically world changing, though I do lean that way. I write, and hope that my writing will inspire and stimulate others the way writing has done for me. If I stimulate people into action for positive change, so much the better.

I do exsist and I will be remembered because I will haunt and generally annoy the crap out of people whom I think deserve it.
Like if I were to die tomorrow, I would find that bitch that used to be married to my uncle and make her life hell. Like making sure the only thing she can ever watch on TV is Star Trek, mess with the TV reception, wake her up in the middle of the night, make sure that there is never fresh milk in her house.
Stuff like that.

If I do exist, then I feel sorry for others. I'd rather not exist and only have some preconceived, misguided ideology of existing to fool myself into believing as such. It's quite like that saying quoted above me, originated from Descartes. And yet, it still ends up reductio ad absurdum. Reduced to absurdity.
The full claim made by Descartes is Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum. I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am. Claiming to exist because one doubts is an idea that is flawed in the measure of one being able to doubt existence. If you don't exist, to put it simply, it doesn't matter if you're mistaken about your existence or not. If you don't exist, then you can't be mistaken, so it doesn't really matter and you may as well believe as you like.
But, enough picking on failed philosophy.
When I die, I want it to be horrific. I already know that if anyone remembers me, they will not be remembering the good in my life, cause there hasn't been all that much of it. They'll remember "Man, I hated that guy," and "Good, it's about time he died." So, I might as well give them something to remember.
I reckon, when I die, it should be so horrific and in a huge crowd so that everyone is traumatized for the rest of their lives just from having been present at it. Through horror have I lived. Through horror shall I be remembered.
It's oddly fitting.

I believe I exist, but I know there will come a time when people forget that I existed.
I don't plan on radically changing someone's life. I don't plan on changing the world. The only people who are going to remember me is my family and friends, but they will eventually die as well I will be forgotten, just like millions upon millions of other people.

I don't wish to exist as a human with feelings, yet I do. I wish I were a humanoid robot, one that appeared to exist, but wasn't really there.
But since becoming one of them isn't real... I wish to die. Unremembered. So that I don't cause any pain in doing so. I'm only seventeen, but that is my mentality.

I exist because some people around me make me feel that I exist ^-^
But sometimes I feel that is not worthy to exist with so much hate around the world... And sometimes I just feel depress and not feeling like moving on... So therefor I don't feel that existence is notice sometimes Dx It sucks when that happens

It's honestly a very interesting question...because you start to get into 'The Matrix' like stuff....do we really exist, or are we this little baby thingie in this machine and we need to be 'unplugged' CRAZY...um, I think that we do really exist...but interesting question none the less.

There are moments when I don't feel like I'm even alive that its just a memory replaying itself. Its quite an interesting question. I know I must exist somehow but there are just so many times when I can't even tell if this is reality.

Oh I exist. Will I be remembered by anyone other than my family? No, probably not. I haven't done anything amazing, nothing that the world at large would consider amazing and wonderful and memorable. I don't need everyone to know and remember me though, I'm perfectly living my life quietly, doing what I have to do to take care of my family while enjoying life as I can.
That doesn't mean I disrespect those who feel a need for more recognition. I think it's necessary that some people feel a need for more recognition. The need to make a difference -- that's how changes happen. We need people like that for the human race to continue to grow and evolve. /nod

I haven’t really done anything all too memorable in my opinion. All Id o is write, but no one ever reads it. I’d probably be remembered as a crazy cat/reptile lady since I have an obsession with cats and most kinds of reptiles.

Ah yes, the issue of being remembered. This does sometimes worry me. I don't have a large family and I don't intend to have children, so it's unlikely there'll be any relatives around to remember me after my death.
Which leaves making my mark on history, which takes effort. I do have a desire to change the world for the better, and a drive to enter politics somehow in order to carry this out, so if things went right, I'd have a place in the history books. But that's an awful lot of hard work.
In the end, though, we'll all be forgotten. It's a depressing thought, but the human race will inevitably die out, and the world will inevitably be destroyed, and all our species' achievements will be forgotten forever. Which means, really, thinking about being remembered doesn't get you anywhere - it's important to live for today.
