When I first started college in '03, I was a music major, but the university I attended had very large class sizes and my saxophone instructor, who I would've had for 4 years, was a mean person! She would tell all her students, even the good ones, that they weren't cut out to be music majors and should rethink their major. Many of my sorority sisters quite because of her and I did as well. Besides my sisters, I just didn't like it there!
After a semester there, I enrolled in DuBois Business College for Administrative Medical Assistant. That was such a good idea! The teachers where very supportive and helpful, as were the office personal. I just loved it there and miss it very much! I graduated in December '06 with my associates degree, with which a got a job as a Unit Secretary at a local hospital. (now is currently unemployed b/c she moved out of state) |
I'm a sophomore in college also. I'm majoring in research psychology. I'd like to study personality disorders. It's a very interesting field to me. I'm not sure how practical it is though...I might have to move to a bigger city to find a job.

I want to major in music theory or music composition. They really fit hand in hand, so either one I choose will help me out. And regardless, if I want to be a composer I need to take both the classes anyways xD
Right now I'm a junior in high school, so I have a bit more time to think about what I want to do for sure. |

I'm a first year university student, majoring in Social Science.
I had almost no idea what type of job I'd get after finishing the degree when I first started but then I found out I could get into research in the Human Services field...which sounds ok to me. |
Wow, lots of interesting majors since the last time I checked in here! Hmm, social science is going to be a growing field, Ling, because the population of most populace countries is rapidly aging. Hence, in a few years the demographic is going to end up with a large number of people depending on a smaller number for support. That could be a very interesting time to study indeed.

I'm definetely going with some sort of computer software engineering type thinger. If I ever graduate high school, that is. =x

Well, if you have the patience for repeated retraining to stay on top of the tech curve, that's a *really* good field to get into now. The demand is high, and keeps rising with no top in sight. Take some courses when you get to college and see how you like it, then decide on exactly what you want to do after the first two years of college. That's what I did, and it's working just fine for me. :)
