In a magazine from 1997 they believed that year 2007 people could make short visits to the moon (ordinairy people/tourists) with a planr called Pathfinder. 2022 we would have a hotel circling around the earth, 2047 we would be able to live on the moon in some sort of hotel where you can jump around on the moon, go on long expeditions and watch neil armstrongs first footprint on the moon as an attraction. In 2097 we would be able to skii on mars XD

So what do you think? Will we one day be able to live on the moon, or skii on mars?
Would you like to live on the moon?

(Randomly) What did you think of the new transformers movie? X}

I think it would be cool to live on the moon but I don't think it will happen anytime soon, probably not even in my life time. Not just because of the technological difficulties, but also the politcal problems you'd be looking at. I mean how would you divide up the moon? Does each country get it's own share based on earth land proportion, or would be based of population. Do the countries who have made the most space travel discoveries get a large percent of ownership?

Yeah, way too much stuff to think about. xD

I think that if funding to space programs and space research are more realistic and if the space community continues to standardize their technology internationally, there's a good chance we'll see at least the beginnings of colonization of another world. Granted, I would also be one of the first people to sign up to move.

If the current probe sent to Mars shows what the satellite imagery suggests (that there are large quantities of water frozen), there will be a green light for a manned mission to Mars. There are also new designs for a space rocket, granted i would prefer it if the shuttle's were re-disigned since they are re-useable but its progress.

I honestly believe it's possible. Humans do tend to spread out and infect much like viruses. I actually own moon property. My sis got it for me for a birthday present one year.

A little off topic...but Tom Cruise owns some property on the moon. I sure wouldn't want to live next door to him.

I think it would be awesome to live on the moon, but I wouldn't be able to breathe because of the lack of oxygen.

Oh, when I was in first grade, my teacher put in a video about mars and it said that they found water on mars, which means it could be possible that we may live on mars. xD

I couldn't think about Space travel seriously unless Earth was united under one banner...

The real problem with the moon is the temperature not the lack of atmosphere...

The moon would be a pretty bitchin` habitat.

However, the trip would take a LONG time and to my knowledge there ain't a whole lot going on, on the moon.

Science Fiction has given us 2 options for life on the moon;
Option 1 - Terraforming
Option 2 - Bio-Domes or Bio-Spheres
Option 2 is more viable for Lunar settlement as there are no base elements for terraforming to be possible.

sure, i think its possible, but most likely, most of us would probably be dead.

there are still many steps that have to be taken for something this HUGE to take place. it does sound like it would be an awesome thing to see.

but i don't think anything like this will happen in our lifetime =\

We will probably have to some day move to the moon because the earth would be populated like crazy! (probably only rich people would live there! haha. ParisHiltontopia!)

Earth will explode in 2000.
We will have hoover cars in 2010.
They always make up new ideas of how advance we will be but I think we are already advanced enough. I mean a robotic portable nano cd player is controlling our world! That's amazing enough.

xD Personally, I would rather stay on Earth. No need to be blasting off into space while this place right here is fine.

I'd never want to go to the moon or live on it. I like
to enjoy it from my place here on Earth.

I doubt people will be traveling there very often
in the future. It's incredibly expensive and dangerous.

There's no way we'd be able to travel to other planets.
There's the extreme temperatures to consider, the fact
that some don't even have an atmosphere, and some
would take years just to get to. Unless our technology
advances so far that we can travel faster than light,
we won't be going there anytime soon. ;D

It'd be cool to visit, but not to stay there. mean, if people want to move there sometime in the future that's ok but I'd rather stay on Earth. With all the air. ( Polluted air, but still air. )

I definitely think it is possible, although I don't think it's going to happen very soon. It would be nice, to help with the mass amounts of people, but I wouldn't live there.

Also, I think it would be more fun to visit as an attraction than to actually live there. And I would want to wait awhile after they got all the kinks and bugs out if whatever they used to make it possible.

I wouldnt want to live or visit the moon, space is big and scary and could be full of monsters <.< Plus its cold, I hate the cold! It would be pretty but going out into a creepy space place where many horrible things could go wrong isnt worth it. >.> I think it would be pretty depressing to, all empty and creepy and dark most of the time. I spit on that magazine for being wrong.

I liked the trasnformers movie it was neat, and I dont even like transformers xD But it was all awesome <.< With exploding things and such.

Lol - I love how old movies show really funny future statistics. They are funny because we're already pass 2000 and none of it has happened. >O<

But no. I don't want to go to the moon very much because I'd be too scared of not being able to breathe. There is no way we can make absolutely sure we won't be in danger of running out of air out there. At least not anytime soon. Think of the Titanic. 'Never sink' Right.

The space food would kinda be a turn off. I dont imagine I could handle being in a confined suit for a long time either...The moon is fine as a nice little orb, I dont need to get any closer ^^
