Weird Fashion Statements!

OK. So Flink was cleaning her desk and she found her favourite pair of earrings! Of course, they're tea pots and most people who've seen them remark on how odd they are.

Then they walk off looking at Flink like she's crazy. But she loves them and would have a lot more weird earrings shapes and stuff if she could find them. (Babel fish earrings anyone?)

That got her to wondering if she could find (some ideas) out what everyone else considered their weirdest fashion statement, or even their favourite article of clothing/accessory.

So, let's get to talking folks!

fuyumi_saito 11-26-2007 01:37 AM

That sounds cool...Weird fashion statements.. Oh well, I use my camera bag as purse, since my purse broke XD

ljosberinn 11-26-2007 01:40 AM

  • Tea pot earrings? How awesome is that? How big are they? And Babel fish earrings, haha, awesome. Do they exist?
I only have one earlobe pierced and I just got it pierced last spring. I haven't bought any earrings yet (and I'm not sure I'd spend money on a new pair unless I had lots of money all of a sudden) but my mum lets me use hers. She has one weird pair, huge plastic yellow hearts. I haven't worn them yet though because I have nothing that would go with them.

I guess some would consider my sense of fashion somewhat.. peculiar. But I really like most of my clothes, so eh, who cares?

My favourite piece of clothing right now would be my self-made shirt. Mostly because it's self-made. *Big, silly, proud grin* Here are a couple of photos of it: [1] [2]. (It's not me on the pictures by the way, but I took them.)

Aurora 11-26-2007 01:42 AM

Umm...idk..oh, I love cloaks, people dont really wear them these days and i'd probably get weird looks if I wore one, lol But I'm gonna make one eventually..xD I love cloaks..like Bells simple one from Beauty and the beast? With the hood..x3
I have a ninja necklas that my cousin gave I've worn before. xD lol Ninjas are cool..8]

Karine 11-26-2007 01:44 AM

My record earrings. ^^ They're awesome. Other then that, everything is what you'd see other people wearing.
Also, if you're interested in unique earrings, go [here]
Shana Logic has a whole bunch of interesting ones.

Staff Sergeant 11-26-2007 01:45 AM

I would have to say that me wearing two of the same shoes, but different colors is a pretty odd Fashion Statement.
They usually compliment my outfit. (One shoe red, one shoe black, Black pants with red stitching and a red/black striped shirt XP)

I only wear those outfits once a month at special occasions

Flink 11-26-2007 01:46 AM

Flink was admiring that shirt when she looked at your pictures. XD (Remember, she's a stalker? XD XD)

They're not big at all. Flink would put them on and take a picture. But she's too lazy to fix her hair so she can adequately put it up. Waaaay too much effort. Maybe one day when she's getting all dolled up she'll remember to take a picture?

Yes, they do exist. BUT when she saw them they were only available for the UK and Flink's from the US. So she couldn't get them. >.<

Ninja necklace? That sounds awesome!

Fuyumi: Flink's done that before. XD Used something that wasn't a purse as a purse. She's planning on redoing a small jewelry box she got as a purse since the got it with that intention.

Flink usually improvises stuff and gets weird looks. Like, she's worn USB cables as hair ties more than once. (They were no longer used for anything) And a car air freshener, as well. She had cherries in her hair. O_O

Edit: SQUEE! Thank you for the link! Those earrings are AWESOME! -wants the onigiri ones now- XD

Fabby 11-26-2007 01:46 AM

I get a lot of stares whenever I wear my Spikey-Spikey.
(My spiked collar. I gave it a nickname. XD)

Stares... or compliments. Haha.
...Once some guy used it to pack his weed... O_O It was weird. But that's sort of off-topic. Heh.

kimu 11-26-2007 01:47 AM

I usually wear my weird hairclips and my weird jrock skirt and such xD Striped socks count? hmm...

KNOX 11-26-2007 01:47 AM

I don't think I really wear anythign weird.
But something I wear all the time and get comments on is one of those metal beaded necklaces, most people call them balls,
but mine has three locks on them.
not strange though
i wish i had teapot ear rings

  • I'd say that my most unusual item of clothing would be my choker with lots of small, different coloured bells all around it. It lends literal meaning to the phrase "I'll be there with bells on." X3

That, or my Pikachu bag. I love my Pikachu bag. <3

Flink 11-26-2007 01:52 AM

Considering how many people wear spiked stuff, Flink's surprised so many people are still shocked by it.

Whenever Flink goes on vacation, she has a habit of asking people dressed goth or otherwise in clothing she wishes she could wear to pose with her. XD

Before her old camera broke she has LOADS of pictures with people with crazy outfits, makeup, hair, stuff like that. She remembers getting her friends to help her once when she was in high school. They had a picture taken wtih a guy with a black and green mohawk. XD XD It was awesome.

OH! Flink'll get a picture of the earrings with a permanent marker. To show their size. Uno momento!

Avenue 11-26-2007 01:56 AM

I have a lovely kitty necklace. <3

Her head can pivot and her tail moves back-and-forth, like a kitty-clock. =D She's about an inch tall, tail included.

Since she's old, though, her gold finish is wearing off, and one of her crystal eyes is missing. xD

I still love wearing her, though.^^

When I was little, I never took her off except when I was in the shower or gym class. x3

Sometimes I attach keys, small keychains, and ribbons to my jewelry. I wear watch straps without the watch part on them.

And I'd totally wear knee-socks if I could find any. ^3^

Teapot earrings=<333

Cherry Who? 11-26-2007 01:57 AM

I have this one skirt, and it's (bright, deep) green with tiny navy embroidered whales and skulls all over it. It's just so random... I mean... Whales and skulls? What the hell? XD
I love it, though. ^^

8bit Girls Bravo 11-26-2007 01:58 AM

I wouldn't really call it a fashion statement, since I'm not trying to make any particular point, but I love doing manba style~

(Oh, but none of those are me -- sadly I don't have any recent pictures of myself doing the style ;3; )

Rainiy 11-26-2007 01:58 AM

I usually wear mismatching socks, and a lot of Hello Kitty if I can get my hands on it. x3 I consider those my fashion statement(s.) ^_^

Awesome. xD

ljosberinn 11-26-2007 02:02 AM

  • Aurora: I have a cloak. It's awesome. 8)

Karine, oooooh, earrings! Interesting! Maybe I'll get my best friend to buy some pairs with me, she also has just one ear pierced.. *Ponders*

Staff Sergeant, my brother bought two pairs of Converse, one black and one.. some colour, I think he coloured them white himself. And then he'd wear one white and one black. He doesn't do it as often now though, I think he wore them out and now has only a black pair.

Flink, ahh, so you internet stalk too? :O
Now I want a picture. Please take one when you are not too lazy? *Does the puppy eyes*
Awesome. I have some friends in the UK, maybe I could have it sent to their house and.. *Plots*

I often used my old old old old lunchbox as a purse. It's red and I got it when I was five years old. I should probably start doing it again.. but that means I need to hold it instead of having it on my shoulder..

USB cables as hair ties? You are very inventive. o.o

I used to wear a choker with a small bell on it, so it'd jingle everytime I walked around. And people would know I was coming. It was really fun, it always put a smile on my face when it started jingling so it reminded me to stay in a good mood. Maybe I should start wearing it again. : D

8bit, no offence or anything, but I find that style so scary. o.o

Me too... O.O

8bit Girls Bravo 11-26-2007 02:06 AM

I know, a lot of people do, but I love it~

I'm not a terribly huge fan of the super-extreme styles though. They're just a little bizarre looking to me. The photos I posted are pretty toned down, although I tend to tone it down even more~~~

Flink 11-26-2007 02:14 AM

That style was... disturbing to say the least. o.o Maybe those are just creepy pictures of it? O.O

Ljos: Flink has LOT of people comment on how inventive she can be. She just doesn't believe them. But when she needs something she'll search all over for it or something that can takes its place really easily. She does the same thing for cooking, too. Most every time it ends up very delicious and she wishes she wrote what she did down. XD

Flink is currently uploading the picture to Photoshop. (She's not in it XD XD) And be nice, it's taken with her cellphone. She can't find the cord to her digital camera. Which she should totally name. o.o

Carptastic Pic

Wow! O.O Are you a designer? You're very good. =]
You can't make MY clothes ANY day! ^_^

As for me, i have these shoes. I haven't seen them on anyone else, so i wear them proudly. ^_^

Moon 11-26-2007 02:17 AM

Well... I don't know.
But I try to imitate weird stuff.

Once I wanted some shoes because I wanted to look like a grandma.

Then... the haircut I got... I wanted to look like Edward Scissorhands.
It's the candy's fault.

Awesome. xD

:o Wow, thats so cool! It's sounds pretty!! :D

ljosberinn ~ :o You do? Awesome! xD

ljosberinn 11-26-2007 02:25 AM

  • Flink, well, you are. I'm not very inventive, but I have some artistic potential. If I were more inventive, I could maybe find a way to let all those potential ideas I have in my head out instead of just stuffing up my head. D:
I'm not very good with cooking, mostly because I never get a chance to practice. And I don't really like cooking for other people, not before I get some practice anyway. >.> But my mum is a really good cook and she almost never uses recipes. I think I might be able to do that if I tried though. I just need to learn the basics, like, do I put oil on this or do I put that in the oven or on a pan, etc.
Ahh, those earrings are delicious! : D

JuliaV, uhm, no.. that's the first real piece of clothing I made from scratch. >.> I've made a pair of trousers now too, and I'm itching to make another pair, but I can't afford any material. .__.
    Fantastic shoes!

I love experimental hairstyles. I just cut my hair last night before my friends came over because I wasn't happy with it. And now I have bangs. : D I want to dye it silver..
