I don't think this is considered to be a book *blinks* well it is one but I don't think it belongs in the book section...

Anyway, recently I've begun to keep a diary. Why, because... I need to vent. I sometimes write poetry in it, and sometimes just about my life, and I also draw pictures... It helps me somewhat...I think.

I also keep a journal full of words and names with their meanings. Like slang and perhaps Welsh names with meanings...The welsh are odd, that's all I'm going to say.

I have a third journal that I write stories in and brainstorm.. Of course there is also the school journal that you sometimes need for English classes.

Things to discuss:

1. Do you have a diary? Or have you ever had a Diary?

2. If so, what do you write in it? No need to go into detail.

3. Have you ever read anyone elses diary? (examples: Friends, family, famous people, etc. Basically non-fiction, not those fake fiction ones people write about the lives of people long dead.)

4. Do you keep in journals that you write stories or something else in?

5. Anything else that might go with this topic? (examples: A journal which you write to your friends in, they write back...like letters I guess..)

I used to keep an actual diary (you know, the cutesy book with the lock and whatnot) but I haven't touched it since middle school. I've kept a Livejournal (I'm angel18 on there!) since I was 14, so, lots of memories written in there. =O

2. If so, what do you write in it? No need to go into detail.
Everything. Story ideas, how my day was, about how much I love my cats, advertising things that I've joined, quiz results, etc.

3. Have you ever read anyone else's diary?
Other than on, like, Livejournal, no. XD

4. Do you keep in journals that you write stories or something else in?
*points to question 2* I keep my stories in my regular journal, if anywhere at all other than my hard drive.

5. Anything else that might go with this topic?
I love friend journals!! *_* No one does them anymore though. Writing is so out of style, hah.

1. Do you have a diary? Or have you ever had a Diary?
Yes. Although I gave up on it after a while. I chose to write on these journals instead as it felt good having someone reading and leaving a comment to help me deal.

2. If so, what do you write in it? No need to go into detail.
Everything.
I also have a seperate one for dreams.

3. Have you ever read anyone elses diary? (examples: Friends, family, famous people, etc. Basically non-fiction, not those fake fiction ones people write about the lives of people long dead.)
Yes, only when shown though

4. Do you keep in journals that you write stories or something else in?
nope.

I don't have a diary at the moment. I used to have a journal
but I never really wrote in it. I do have livejournal,
which I don't update very often either.

I just write important news, things I've discovered, dreams, etc.

My sister used to show me some of her entries, but other
than that, not really. ^-^ Anne Frank? lol

I write stories everywhere. Currently, there's one
in my Interior Design notebook.

And I used to do that journal thing with my friends when
I was in middle school. ^-^

I’ve kept diaries on and off since around 5th grade. I write about what goes on in my life, random short stories or ideas for stories, and some poems. I don’t read anyone else’s because I don’t really care about other people’s lives to. I have note books upon note books that I’ve written stories and poems in. I’ve actually mad a three ring binder full of short stories and poems. I’m up to six of those huge ones so far for stories and four for the poems. I also have one that I write random phrases in or sometimes I’ll just write gibberish.

In high school, two of my friends and I used to write down things in a notebook and sent it back and forth to each other. It was pretty much the most random thing that anyone could read, but it was fun and helped keep us closer together until on of the girls moved away and we never saw her again after that.

Well me and my friends used to have those little fill-in diarys, but that was like way back in elementary xD
I would never keep a diary on the off chance that someone would read it, plus if i tried to write down my thoughts the paper would burn to hell. XD

I used to keep a journal to write poems in, but now i just use random paper because i'm sloppy like that. xP

1. Do you have a diary? Or have you ever had a Diary?
No I do not. I really wish I did though it would be interesting to keep one and be able to write stuff in . ..

2. If so, what do you write in it? No need to go into detail.
I don't have one .

3. Have you ever read anyone elses diary? (examples: Friends, family, famous people, etc. Basically non-fiction, not those fake fiction ones people write about the lives of people long dead.)
Hum -tries to remember- I am not sure if I have , I really don't think so.

4. Do you keep in journals that you write stories or something else in?
Nope, I really really love writing poems and random sentences unfinished and stuff. I mostly save that kind of stuff on the computer though. I would really like to get one for those purposes though because sometimes I will have a good idea but forget it by the time I get home.

5. Anything else that might go with this topic? (examples: A journal which you write to your friends in, they write back...like letters I guess..)
Ah I used to have one of those notebooks where me and my old friend wrote back in forth and covered with decoration and stuff , She moved though D: . .

1. Do you have a diary? Or have you ever had a Diary?
When I was a kid, yeah.
I don't have a diary now because I really have no time to write on it. It's possible that other people might see it without you even knowing it.

2. If so, what do you write in it? No need to go into detail.
None actually, what I put in my blank books or notebooks are pretty much poems, songs that I made and some drawing.
3. Have you ever read anyone elses diary?
Nope. They won't show it to me unless I also have a diary. <_<" Kinda childish.

4. Do you keep in journals that you write stories or something else in?
I usually use the computer if I wanted to write or make something because this is where I am most of the time.

5. Anything else that might go with this topic?
Well, when me and my friends were in 6th grade, we made our own anime book. We really had fun making it. We made our own persona. That's what I like about making that book.

I'm really upset though cause I lost some of my poems I wrote and cant find them... ._.

In middle school in my math class, me and my friend used to write in a notebook to each other. xD

I've used my journal to vent before, but not really anymore..if I am upset about something I just vent on my online journal thingy..^^;

Had one, years ago.

Daily events, crushes, hopes, dreams (literal dreams, not "I wanna be an astronaut"), random thoughts and stuff.

Well I stopped keeping a journal many years ago due to several incidents where my parents would have knowledge of things that I never told anyone about. I burned my journal and didn't keep any more so it stopped.

I don't keep a personal diary for my thoughts and what happened to me. I was never able to write back in it and would go several months before actually attempting to write anything down so it seemed a bit pointless.

I do keep a book for stories though, I tend to keep my stories separated. I have three that are long chapter stories and each got their own book (well, the first got two books) and then there's another for short stories or more 'brain doodle' stories (just the ones that float in my head and I need to get out of there). I started doing that because I would not always be at my computer when an idea popped in so I keep the little books with me. I only work on one large chapter story at a time though, any idea I have for another chapter story get put into the short story/miscellaneous book. I do draw but never seem to have my sketchbook with me so my school notebooks become very artistic over the semester ^^;

I would never want to read another person's diary unless they told me it was OK and they wanted me to read it (kind of like those personal blogs that people have setup where only your friends can read it). I do plan on giving any daughter I have a diary for her to write in if she wants to, just because I do know that it is therapeutic for some people and sometimes you just need to get things out of your head and there's some things you just don't want to talk to your mom about. Course, I'd give any son a journal too, manly looking book so as to not embarrass ^^

I do keep a journal, I've had one since I was like around 10, and pretty much each year I get another one. I have like a whole collection of books that are just about me. And I like writing in them because like say when I'm 60, I'll be able to read them and look back on those memories.

I don't keep a "diary" persay.
Mainly because I strongly believe that the term diary is a more feminine way of writing personal thoughts. It's almost too girly, and too childish for me.

But keeping a journal sounds more professional, more in depth & interesting, not to mention appealing to ALL genders, rather than one.

I support all love, but if I heard a guy keeping a diary, I would think he's gay, regardless of his sexuality.

But if a guy were to say he keeps a journal, I'd have mad respect for him.

Same goes for girls. If I heard them say diary or journal, I would give them respect. But journal just sounds better, in my opinion.

I've had TONS of diarys, but I never write more than a few pages before forgetting I have it. Plus, I think one time someone read mine. And I don't really like the idea of writing all my feelings down anyway. :(

I am writing a journal series.
I'm on the 2nd one.
I plan to write about of my journal after I graduate college.

One is for high school.
One is for college.
And the last will be the beginning of my adult life in a career/working aspect.

I write many things, in fact, everything in my journal. Most include events that I find significant that I want to grasp for future times. So that I can look back and reflect on the vivid details of the time. (:

I don't have a camera, so I can't capture those moments with pictures. So instead, I do it by mental images, and writing, along with art.

Also, there is only one person that I have let to read my entire journal.

Why? Because that's how much I care about them.
I want to know them forever, so I share EVERYTHING with them. So they can fully know me.

I've said/done some good and bad things. But that's who I am, and I want them to see that.

Even if it makes them dislike me.
I just want them to know me.
(:

1. No, I don't have a diary or a journal...I think I may have at one point when I was really little...but I only wrote it in like once or twice, then forgot about it...and now computers/on-line journals, blogs and things like that are really popular...and there was one point where I typed in that a few times, but I just never kept up with it...I just don't think that I'm a 'journal or diary' person.

2. Well....when I would have an on-line one....and wrote in it like...once in a blue moon, I would just talk about my day, my problems, boys that I liked but didn't like me back...things like that. Nothing too serious like I want to die....

3. lol...okay, when my sister was really young, she had this diary/journal thing, and we looked back on it together...and keep in mind this was when she was like 6, and now she's 17. Anyways, she would just draw these really messed up pictures...and sometimes talk about how she didn't like me lol. (her big sister).

4. I don't have stories that I write or anything...there was one time I tried to write a fanfiction, and it was HORRIBLE! D: I just wrote it out on loose paper, and then typed it on word...and uploaded it...end of story for that!

5. I guess I'm just not a journal or diary person...and I have some friends and they do, do this notebook thing where one person will write in it, and ten another person will...sometimes they are just talking in general, other times they are writing stories, it's actually pretty cool....and they are all really good drawers, so sometimes they will draw pictures back and forth.

At one point, I made my journal entries using numerology.

It was fun confusing people with notes and stuff.

Actually, numerology does sound like it would a fun thing to introduce ^_^ At least changing things around a little bit from time to time would keep it interesting. Only change-up I did in my diary was different pen color each entry. It worked for awhile until I ran out of ink in all but the normal blue and black ink pens, then it got boring.

  • I used to keep a diary when I was younger and I was feeling pretty crappy but had noone to vent to. Even then, I'd only really write when I wanted to - I'm really not the kind of person who can do something every single day, I've got such a bad memory. ^u^;;

I never let anyone read it, because it was my place to vent. I wrote about my problems with my friends, my family... the only two groups of people I could maybe have showed it to. I'm not sure where it is now, I think it's in one of my boxes of notebooks and papers stashed under my bed at home.

I've never read anyone else's diary because I've never known anyone who kept one. Or I never asked them if they did, and they never told me. Diaries are private. I wouldn't want anyone to read a diary I wrote, and I'm a pretty open person. There are just some things I'm too ashamed of to let people know.

I don't really keep journals for stories or anything, but I do have to have a notebook with me wherever I go, because I'll get the urge to write something down at the strangest times. It helps because I'm so forgetful that I have it with me to write ideas or things to remember in. But I have one that leaves the house and one that doesn't, one that I'd let people see any time and one that I'd be more hesitant to show them.

    I have a Livejournal, but I'm terrible at updating it and no one knows I have it anyway. And I always wanted to do one of those friend journal things when I was younger but I would have been too careful what I wrote in it which would've kind of defeated the object. ^u^;;

I used to keep journals and diaries, but my parents are so nosy that I was nervous about leaving them hidden in my room so I just stopped.

I have a LiveJournal if that counts, but it isn't all that personal since everyone on my friendslist can read it.
