Honestly, yes, I'm afraid of aids, illnesses and everything that could potentially kill me.

Fabby 12-01-2007 12:11 AM

I'm not really scared of AIDS or cancer.
Though I should be scared of lung cancer, because I smoke, but honestly it just doesn't phase me.
As for AIDS... well, my boyfriend was a virgin, so I doubt he has AIDS, so I'm okay not using condoms with him. I use condoms with anyone I don't really trust. And it's not like I'm sleeping around with every guy anyway...

I'm more scared of diseases than anything.
Like... measles.
I haven't been vaccinated, ever, so I suppose I'm way more at risk than anyone else. (The fact that there is virtually no risk anyway makes me look stupid.)

Aurora 12-01-2007 12:22 AM

Are you scared of aids?
Well...I am scared of it kinda, but thats just because I worry a lot. I'm not really scared of people who have aids though...they're just people like us but have an illness..:3
Are you scared of cancer?
Um...the thought of having it scares me, same as the above question...>.>
Are you scared of any other illness?
Um...I don't know..when I learn about illnesses I kinda worry about getting them but I usually just try not to and then later it doesn't worry me as much...^^;;

Trinitydoll 12-01-2007 02:58 AM

Im not scared of it but I was at the beginning when it came out and everyone was really freaked i remember i was little and my parents told me not to drink anything do not use same tooth brush, no same cutlery no same anything dont touch...I mean you have to understand them they were so worried and miss informed like everyone else and scared with a little kid at school (80's) but then now I am not but cancer mm maybe i think fear is the worst thing to have because it doenst help and makes things worst but well it is like a double side you are scared of not getting sick and you get sick for fearing and being nervous about it ...>-<, yoga helps though *relaxes*

Are you scared of aids?

No, and I don't know why?

Are you scared of cancer?

No, and I don't know why?

Are you scared of any other illness?

No, and I don't know why?

Seriously, I don't know why? I'm just not scared. I will deal with it if it ever happens to me. It's just one of those things.

Azelf_Rampardos 12-01-2007 04:12 AM

I'd be extremely scared. Just imagine that now for sure you can die at any moment, it's not a good feeling. People might not be near you anymore being scared if they would contract it somehow, and I don't know..it'll feel like its the end of your normal life, and everything just changes, you know?

xDDDD

How can you say that, you've seen only one of my posts.

ARE YOU A STALKER. SPEAK UP MAN. YOU WITH THE PAPARAZZI? COME ON MAN SPEAK UP.

butterscotch 12-01-2007 04:56 AM

Not really... I mean, if I had it I'm sure I'd be scared but it's not something I think about much. :? Getting pregnant on the other hand I am TERRIFIED of.

Cancer is scarier to me, it just seems more likely to happen. I've had quite a few people I'm known die of cancer while I'm not sure if I've ever even known anyone with AIDS.

I do worry about other random illnesses quite a bit - like everytime I eat I sit around for hours later wondering if I'm going to get food poisoning. Honestly I think I make myself sicker worrying about getting sick.

speedvolt 12-01-2007 05:01 AM

Yes, God! I would kill myself before knowing i have aids!
No, Its better than aids
Yes, the SARS virus is worst than all the illnesses, it kills you and it doesn't have a cure, cancer had a cure of painful injections but nothing cures SARS

Twilit Lune 12-01-2007 06:21 AM

I used to be really scared of aids when I got my first lesson on it back in third grade or sometime around that time. Now it's just normal, just being aware of it. Cancer's the same. But it really depends on what kind of cancer. I guess I'm a bit scared of it though, thinking of death isn't fun at all. :[

What I'm scared of the most's pneumonia, I nearly died from a serious one... Doctors tell me I'm lucky to be still alive. I never knew the sickness was pneumonia until recently though. :\

psyrien 12-01-2007 06:30 AM

I'm not particularly scared of AIDS or cancer. I mean, I don't want to get either, but it's not like I'll run away screaming in the other direction from people who have either disease because a) cancer isn't contagious, b) I don't do risky things that could make me catch AIDS.

Besides, I would treat the people with the diseases like normal people. You hear all these stories about them being treated differently when all they want is a normal life. Of course, this probably may not be true for all of them. However, I don't think you should treat them like they're made of glass or a time bomb or something. They're still people.

Motion 12-01-2007 06:33 AM

What does SARS stand for?

fuyumi_saito 12-01-2007 06:39 AM

I'm not scared of Aids or any other disease. I won't likely get aids, since I have yet to have sex, and if I do it'll be with a girl who I'm in a realationship.

I don't touch other people's blood or take drugs so I'm safe there. I'm not worred about that. Cacer...Well it's possible, and then I'll fight it off. I'm not taking this lightly, but I think some people are taking it way too seriously.

Motion 12-01-2007 06:40 AM

I don't blame people for taking it really seriously, it is an epidemic after all.

fuyumi_saito 12-01-2007 06:55 AM

Yeah, but you aren't going to get it by touching someone.

Marguerite Blakeney 12-01-2007 06:59 AM

  • I've been studying about AIDS in my Rhetoric & Writing Studies class all semester at my university. Of COURSE I'm scared of it, since it goes around a lot. Not to mention it's transferred in a number of ways...drugs (needles), sex, mother-to-child. Have I missed anything else?

Any life-threatening disease I'm afraid of, especially since there are not any sufficient cures for them...you know, cancer, leukemia, anemia, etc.

I have a friend who's anemic and I hope she doesn't die. I lost an aunt to cancer back in 2003 or 2004. My grandma died of an aneurysm but she was a cancer survivor. My other aunt is currently dying FROM cancer...don't really know how long the list is but I certainly don't want to end up like them.

It may not be scary to you, but to sexually active people it is. And I'm not talking about meaningless sex, I'm talking about people that just really want to have sex for love.

fuyumi_saito 12-01-2007 07:22 AM

Which is why you should know the person you're sleeping with is clean. If you do meet someone with aids or hiv, you shouldn't be afraid to touch them or treat them like an enigma. That's just mean, it's possible that it isn't their fault.

If you're in a meaningful relationship, with someone you love and you know that person is clean and only sleeping with you at the time, you shouldn't worry. If someone is shot and you get their blood on you, then worry. That's not that common though.

It's been around since the 70's. It's nothing new, and if you're reasonably careful you don't really have anything to worry about.

Damage Control 12-01-2007 09:21 AM

I'm not scared of AIDS simply because know we KNOW. We know how you get it and how to prevent it, and people are more careful when they're aware of the consequences.
And also, as we learn more, scientists work their way towards defeating it. Eventually, I'm sure they'll come up with a cure. The same goes for cancer, or any terminal illness, really. They'll find a cure sooner or later, and if I die before then, oh well.

lonewolf 12-01-2007 04:47 PM

aids+condom=no worries :D

aids+condom+tearing= DXX AAHHHHHH

ergo, use durex :D haha nah aids doesnt bother me, unless i was a vampire....then id have to do a blood test on everyone ¬_¬ hehehe

Cherry Who? 12-01-2007 11:53 PM

Well, unless my boyfriend had aids or something, there's not much to fear. It's not like you can just spontaneously contract it.
So just be aware of who has aids, and don't be licking their blood or something. Simple.

But I am pissed at aids. It took away Freddie Mercury. >:
Not to mention tons of other people. Stupid aids.

Now cancer, yes, I'm afraid of cancer. Because you can't "catch" cancer. So there's no surefire ways to not get it. It can get anyone. Healthy or not. Even if you don't have a family history of it. And it can kill you. It killed my aunt. (she's not related to me by blood, so no, it's not in my family)
That's some scary shit.

Masochism 12-02-2007 12:01 AM

No not really.
I'm not planning on having sex for a few years at least.
And I plan on having it with my current boyfriend. Who, though he's had sex multiple times with others, has gone completely chast for me. He's been tested plenty of times as well so I'm not to scared for my own life.
My friend...I worry about her though. Her way of getting over things is to go make out with some dude. So, I hope it doesn't escalate for her. But that's about the only thing I fret about.

Lolly 12-02-2007 12:26 AM

I'm not scared of AIDs.
Why go through life fearing something like that?
Even though taking necessary precautions is very important, don't get me wrong.
I doubt I'd have intercourse with someone with the disease. Thats just me.
Unless they dont tell me.
Which would be horrible.
Its a serious disease, but it doesn't scare me.
