pens.
but i always seem to get ink on my hands :(

Queen Demon 01-02-2008 11:31 PM

I like how the ink look's after you get through writing , ya know? Well anyany. I like pen's better than pencil's. But pencils are the best thing to write with because if you make a mistake you can erase it but with a pen you cannot. But I just love pen's! And also if you write with a pencil and you wrote like a page long. Someone can coe along while you are away from your essay , like you went to sharpen your pencil. They can erase your paper with a eraser. :[ This is why I chosse pen over pencil most of the time. ?_?

Cherry Who? 01-02-2008 11:46 PM

Lately, I tend to write in pen.
I used to write in pencils all the time. But then I left a notebook open to a page I had written on for a long time, and the pencil smudged, smeared and disappeared. D:
So since then, I use pen for anything I want to last.
But I'm just writing a quick to-do list or something, I'll use a pencil. Then I'll just erase it when I'm done and use the same sheet of paper for another to-do list. To-do lists don't need to look fancy. ^^

Sometimes I'll write something in pencil, and then go over it with pen when I'm done. But all that writing tends to make my hand cramp. D:

Pens or pencils.

I usually use pencils so that I can erase. But I do think that ink looks nicer than lead, so I like pens more, I just don't use them often because I end up writing over letters and scratching things out when I do. Or I just use the computer and type stuff up.

M i n u x e 01-03-2008 03:07 AM

I am lucky that I haven't had anyone come along and erase my work before. I really hope that doesn't happen to me though.
I guess another reason I like pencils is because when you have one you also need an eraser. I just like having colorful erasers in random shapes for some reason xD

J-Adeas 01-03-2008 03:10 AM

I write with pens.
I'm left handed, so if I write with a pencil my hand is black by the end of class.
I normally don't make too many mistakes and if I do I just put three lines through it.

I draw in pencil though.

MayLily 01-03-2008 03:04 PM

Well we HAVE to write in Pen most of the time. I don't really mind. I usually write in pen but i like inky ones so they smudge anyway. But it's a pain to sharpen pencils all the time. Plus I always have bad luck with pens. Whenever I do a test in pen it runs out. :( I have no idea why. So I almost always use pencil. Or bring 20 pens or exam days. :D

20 pens?!...are u serious o.o

Ieeko 01-03-2008 03:14 PM

I always write in pencils, as I have a tendency to misspell words when writing on paper and writing quickly. It's a quirk: I can't stand misspellings, and I'd rather be able to erase something than have to scribble out and lose space. I don't see any particular downside, other than, when the pencil-writing touches another paper's pencil writing and rubs, the writing becomes illegiable. Smudging happens with pens and pencils for me, so there's no immediate downside. Someone would just have to be careless and have the writing touching writing to smudge it badly. xD But. Yeah. I like pencils. I can't shade doodles with a pen and have it look clean and satisfactory.

Sir.Spoon 01-03-2008 03:49 PM

I use pencils because they're easy to use, but they always make my history notes look really sloppy. So I try to write as neat as possible, and I hate erasing things, it makes the page so dirty. I use pens when I'm doing important things, like tests, or writing in my journal. The ink always gets on my hands, and eventually on my face. Markers are good for that too.

Sugarberry 01-03-2008 04:17 PM

I would have to say pencils. When I write using ink it tends to smudge and I don't really press down hard enough, so it just turns out bad altogether. XD

Criah 01-03-2008 04:18 PM

It depends on what I'm writing. When I'm writing letters or notes, I use a black gel pen or a fancy Inoxcrom blue pen--depends on which is closer. When I'm scribbling notes to one of my many bosses, I also use ink.

When taking notes or writing on my wall calendar, I use pencil. I also keep a pencil around for my grocery list and the two notebooks I keep in my purse. (One is for lists/a daily diary, one is a pocket calendar.)

And when I write notes to my sister, I use crayons and lolspeak.

Odo 01-03-2008 04:18 PM

Pencils.
All the way.

The only problem with them is I use up a lot of lead, cause I always get sidetracked by drawing.

Titenya 01-03-2008 04:47 PM

I remember in Jr. High we were not allowed to wright in Pen unless we were writing a report. this was back before every one had a computer at home and could type their reports/esseays, so you had to hand write every thing. I would use a typewriter, and I got yelled at a few times beacuse one of my teachers wanted every thing hand writen and not on a computer, it wasn't unill I took a picture of the typewriter that she belived me. We did finally get a computer back in 1999, so after that point all the papers I was allowed to type I did. that was my freshman year of highschool... but even in college, there were still some teachers that made you had write stuff instead of typing it out... *shrugs*

On the whole though, I perfer a pencil becaus I can erase something if i make a mistake, and i have a nice mechanical one that fits comfortably in my hand.

Sirocco 01-03-2008 05:00 PM

It depends. In most of cases for writing I prefer pens - they are permanent, don't erease like pencils and in most of cases don't smudge (and don't make my hand black. Though sometimes it's blue *I use blue ink*).
And most of my teachers in school want us to use pens, so I just had to accustom to them. Now I write mostly with pens.

But in my pencilcase I always have a few pencils, some for drawing, some mostly for writing in my draft.
And sometimes my hands hurts a little from using pens - if I use pencil I don't have to press it so much.

Herkamyrh 01-03-2008 05:10 PM

Well, I prefer pencils b/c of the ability to erase. I wish the markings didn't fade as fast as pen, but oh well. All that other nonsense about pens not smearing are lies though. I've smeared a great many pens in my day, at least the ones I prefer to write with. I'll take a fountain over a ball-point any given day, but thats b/c I like the quality of the lines they produced and the way the ink lays down. Ball points result in ugly, spiderish lines that just don't float my boat.

joviee 01-03-2008 05:45 PM

We have to use pens in school to write with, but for diagrams and drawings we have to use pencil. I guess it depends what you're doing.

dragoness129 01-03-2008 09:55 PM

I like using mechanical pencils.
I can not write in pens very well, because I mess up so much.
I have always like pencils better than pens.
I like mechanical pencils better than regular pencils because of the size of the pencils. Mechanical ones just feel smaller than normal ones. I also like the size of the lead better.
I write really small, which saves paper, and the mechanical pencil's lead works better for writing small.

Takuto 01-03-2008 10:01 PM

I can only write in pens.
It's something that I can't control! xD.
Stupid high school made me write in it forever.
Either way, I write faster in pen so pencils fail. lol.

M i n u x e 01-03-2008 10:01 PM

@Herkamyrh: I have also smeared pens quite often! I think it is a combination of the ink not drying and my hands being sweaty ><
In my opinion smeared pencil is a lot better than smeared pen, so I would rather stick with a pencil.

Madoneko 01-03-2008 10:05 PM

PENCILS.
<3333333

I just love them a lot. ><
The texture, and the face you can shade and even ERASE~
[I mean, sure they have those erasable pens, but it's just not the same!]

Pencils ftw. I even do assignments [I'm sposed to do in pen] in pencil. The teaches don't mind much though. ;]

You should put up a poll. x]

Yeah, I have smeered pen as well. I hate how sweaty my hands get. When you use a pencil, you can at least earase the smudges and other mistakes you make.

M i n u x e 01-03-2008 10:19 PM

@Dragoness: More pen smearers >3
It is convenient to know that you can always just erase the smudges you make.
I don't even know why my hands tend to sweat... I only have one other friend who also has sweaty hands and all my other friends have normal hands. I don't like to hold on to things for a long period of time because when I do my hand sweats like mad and the item becomes wet ;____;

Seishuku 01-04-2008 12:04 AM

I like pencils a lot more than pen. I use mechanical pencils, usually. I don't like pens because I make mistakes when writing and I don't like scratching out things, or having to wait for liquid paper to dry.

When I'm nervous, I make horrible spelling mistakes unconsciously...like the n I was going to write suddenly came out looking a whole lot like an b.

And I have to be careful with some pens so I don't smear everything while the ink is still wet. I've just generally had bad experiences with pens, with them running out of ink at the most inopportune moments.

So no, no pens for me.

Satomi 01-04-2008 12:08 AM

Pencils rules. I just love em. They have different shades, where as pens don't. You can also erase too! I only like pen when it comes to writing words, but if it's like doing a math problem, or taking notes, or drawing, I like pencil best.
