@Seishuku: I have had a pen run out on my while I was writing a test. I didn't take out any spare pens from my pencil case and so I had to take out my pencil case and grab a pen. I felt awkward because the teacher might have thought that I was cheating or something, luckily the teacher didn't notice.
Now I always take two pens out when I am ready to write a test. I always write my tests in pen, even though I like using pencils. |
To be honest I dont mind either, sometimes I prefere a pen then sometimes I feel like using a pencil.

i have purdy led pencils is why 8D -current one with COWS- this has nothing related to this topic, but i don't hold a pencil the "right" way ; ____; i put it all the way up between my fingers instead of at the tip like most hold it. normally people don't notice but when they do, they try and correct me. |

I love looking inside various Chinese gift stores and seeing their led pencil section. They have all these cute animals on them and stuff xD I had this very strict teacher in grade 1 and ingrained the proper way to hold a pencil into our minds. |
Pens, definitely... I really don't know why... maybe because the wood of the pencil bothers my hand because I grip tightly? Or maybe it's just the overall look of ink over lead...

I guess pencils.... because then you can erase it. But then pens look cooler for some weird reason XD.

I always bark at my friends who use pens. Mainly because they complain about errors. lulz.
I use pen only if I can't find a pencil. I prefer the ability to correct errors. And to me: chance of smearing/fading > scribble scribble scribble If I really need a document to last, I'll go over it with pen and the erase the pencil. At least that way there's a chance to make less mistakes. Although, even under those conditions I still manage to. D; |

It depends:
If it is math pencils are handy.. But I also bring my laptop in school and use it mostly since it sometimes is most practical with my education. |
This is pretty weird, but when I started the semester, I always used pens. I'm a bit OCD, so I had blue and black gel pens, and I'd switch between them to color-coordinate my notes.
But now that I only have one or two or each left, I've switched to pencils because I'm lazy. The thing is that this happens every year. I always start with pens, then switch to pencils. I should go to Staples soon. I still use pens in Spanish for some reason, and when I run out, there's going to be one unhappy girl XPP |

The advantages: I have more pencils than I do pens, so I automatically have access to another pencil if I need one, whereas I don't keep pens at school with me. I can erase things if necessary. The disadvantages: Getting my ass up to sharpen them when they break. D: Pens write darker and smoother than pencils, even though that's not really one of my concerns. xD |
Hmmn dont know. Years ago I prefered pencil. I still like using it to take a load of notes or fill in a form, but for writing I prefer pen.

I like using pen more than pencil.
The only time that I like using pencil is in math because I make a lot of mistakes! >.< Everything else I use pen because I write neater in pen and....I just like pens! :D |
I like to use ball point pens, because pens that have ink that bleed through annoy the shit out of me because it smears a lot. D: However, I do use pencils when I solve math problems and stuff. For jotting down notes though, I use pen.

I like both pens AND pencils, depending on what I'm doing. XD
I prefer pens for note taking, writing a story, etc. since they move a lot easier and make darker marks with less pressure; they do tend to smear and run together, though, especially with my handwriting. On the flip side, I prefer pencils for sketching, preliminary writing, and noting where to start something. They take a lot more pressure to make darker marks, but when I'm sketching, that's actually an advantage. X3 I also like markers and highlighters, but let's not go there. |
I like them both. :] Pens are what I use for taking notes in class because my hand writing is clearer when I write with them. xP I like keeping drawing pencils and mechanical pencils too, for my sketchbook. Ballpoint pens are my favorite for writing with. |
i like to use pencil because i make alot of mistakes when writing and every six words, i'll have something else to erase.

.__________.'' I'm left handed so for me both can smear... which really sucks but I prefer pencil. It's much nicer to use when I'm drawing. Which is what I do most of the time in classes..man that reminds me.. I need a new planner and more lead...

Pens Most of the time.
Reason is because it doesnt make a annoying noise that pencils do when you write with them...they write neater and smoother. If i was to use a pencil i would use a led pencil. The led it thinner so you can write nicer and easier. Although the tip breaks faster than on regular pencils. (another reason i love using pens). For drawing i use regular wooden pencils so that i can erase. Led pencils write harder for me so i cant erase so easily. So then regular is easy to go light,and go harder over the lines. |
I have got to use pens, I hate pencils even when Im drawing I cant stand pencil, the only pencil I do use though in some occasions are Mechanical pencils which I dont mind! ^_^;;
