80's and 90's toys
probably 100% better thank any toy now (exept videogames that can be consider toys in a way)

I always wanted CareBears! I never got one. I got something similar though. I always wanted My little Ponys too, instead I played with my next door neighbours.
Barbie dolls were great, but you know what ruled my life? CyberPets! Tamagotchi ruled us like slaves! I can remember them getting banned at school and everyone getting their babys kidnapped by the teachers. It broke our hearts. They ruled with iron digi fists! My sister was pokemon obsessed although I always thought pokemon sucked. There was a division between us on the subject. I liked digimon and she liked Pokemon. |
I had a huge collection of the original Polly Pockets way back when you could choke on them at the sweet age of any. (XD) That and all those mid-90s Barbies, along with all that crap they came with... Shopping malls... Grocery stores... Cars, buses, whatever. I kind of wish I could sit down with someone and play like I was six again. D:
Also, they're still around, but Lego's too. >O< Oh god, I love Lego's. |
Oh Polly Pocket! How could I forget her? My sister and I used to play with them in the bath and kept loosing Pollys down the plug hole >_>

Yes, how could you?! XD I also liked Pound Puppies before they got... insane. o.o; I think that was near the turning more of more 2000ish toys, though.
But it's funny to hear that. I remembered my friends and I, being little sadists or some such, tried to trick each other into swallowing Polly's. Putting her in cokes, food... I have no idea what we were on. XD Sugar probably with those HUGE pixi stix... We need a 90s candy thread now. >O |
My Little Ponys are great I still have some of the orinal ones, that had short fat legs, before they had their remodle and ended up with really long skinny legs. My sister had loads of My Little Ponys so when I got my own we ended up with one box of the ponys and one box of the clothes for them. We had two boxes of Barbies and two boxes of stuff for them. A box of Polly Pockets erm and a few Care Bear toys that turned up in the box of Polly Pocket. Having a sister who is seven years older than me was always great because my parents kept the My Little Ponys, some of the Barbies and the Polly Pockets for me.

Puppy in my pocket! Oh my gosh, did you ever have those? Puppy and kitty and poney in my pocket! My sister and I had hundreds! They've come back but different and not as good. We went and got them down from the loft the other month for our cousins to play with and there's a toybox full of them and another toybox full of Polly Pockets! |

I don't remember what it was called, but it was like this bored, where you turned on the lights and plugged things into it to draw something... Well. make something with the little thingys..
I had one strawberry short cake doll..and her little house.. I never got any ponies.. Lol. I also loved these little fairy things, where you pull on the string and they shoot up in the air. I had at least three of those. I also had barbies, which I would always cut the hair off of..It was fun, but my mom said I ruined them..>_< but anyway, I got a limited edition one, suppose to keep it in the box. I thought that was pointless so I played with it. It was my favorite one. It had a cute dress and a basket of flowers. I also had a sailor moon video game ^^...Still have it. I like playing dress up with it XD the sailor scouts are pretty.. I haven't played it in a loooong time.. |

Oh, now I remember. The light thingy was called lite bright or something like that. I also had polly pockets ^^ and smurf toy thingys....Like little dolls of them.

The doll was lost...somewhere. But, surprisingly, I still have the stand. XD; I know; I'm weird. For some reason, I hold on to the most useless things.
I got like... A pack of Sailor Moon trading cards every time I went to this little strip mall back in the town I went to high school in. I had so many, and I ended up throwing all of them out except for the super rare ones... I wonder where they are, or if they got lost in the move... And if you like Senshi Card Mania! R you should totally join. Activity has gone down a lot since Thanksgiving, and we need active members... ): |

I never had one but tamagochis were also really popular. I work at a toy store in the summer and tamagochis are getting pretty popular again. At that age I played with a lot of legos and mutant ninja turtle figurines |
I used to have (still have somewhere) a huge collection of Polly pockets hehe I love them, then tamagochies too (did you know there is a tamagochi cemetery in Japan 0.o;;;;)

Smelly haired dolls that weren't strawberry shortcake AND FURBIES!! Those little electronic things that would see "FEED ME, FEED ME!" Ahhh it was sooooo annoying, but I loved them.

i remeber in the 90's there were sailor moon and card captor toys at toys r us,i got a kero plushie and luna sphere that talked,they got lost when i moved though!

I used to love my little ponies and slinkies :D. My brother used to collect Transformers, and I used to collect Beanie babies. I still have like 5 giant boxes full of them. Yeah those were the days. Although I see a lot of toys today that I would have wanted as a kid and it makes me sad whenever I see those commercials because now I'm too old.
