Celebrating the Holidays
I was wondering how many peolple out there celebrate Christmas this time of year? Or do you celebrate Hanukkak? Or do you celebrate another holiday?
As for me I celebrate Hanukkah. |
I celebrate Christmas, but this year it's not going to be as good as it used to I guess.
Mostly because of our lack of time to prepare, the cat breaking the tree stand, money situation, and all that. But that's not really what it's about anyways. I'm just glad I'll get to see my sister. |
I celebrate Christmas lazily. ^^; It's all about the family for me; nothing religious, including silly pagan trees. XD; Really, I just hate the mess, and if I feel the need to decorate, I go for little stylish things. o.o; I do love all the garland, though in small amounts.
People often call me the Grinch too, but I don't steal anything from the holiday... I just find a lot of Christmas's old traditions tacky, and being the only female in my house, guess who has to do all the decorating. @_x To me, though, this season is all about New Year's. I love it dearly, because to me, it gives us a clean slate. It is my favorite holiday. :3 |
My family celebrates Christmas. This year will have to be low key, its the first one after my grandfather passed away and my grandma has been living with us. We haven't even gotten our tree up yet (hopefully goes up tomorrow).
This year, I'll go to my fiance's family party then come back home to my own. Most of his family doesn't know we're engaged yet so we get to break the news to everyone. My family party will be small, just my parents, brother, and gram with Chinese food and Twas the Night Before Christmas readings. My uncle is going in for surgery the day before so he and my aunt won't be over this year. Christmas day will involve opening of presents in my family and lounging in PJs. My fiance's family opens their presents on Christmas Eve. |
Christmas.
On a freaking high level. @[email protected]; The Tree was put up days before Thanksgiving, it got a new set of ornaments {go figure .-.} and a new angel. {Which we actually needed a new one, the other one was going to be trashed so I took it. There was nothing wrong without except it was to small for the tree we have this year}. Although there are no presents under the tree {we got a new puppy and he chews everything. Yay for three dogs in the house D:} But I've seen plentiful presents in the closets. And I've gone with people to buy them. And bought some myself. Usually there are more things set up on the morning of christmas {ex. Xbox out of the box with the games set up around it or a barbie house with the dolls sitting at the table, etc.} but this year I think more stuff is wrapped. Which is fun because I like tearing up the wrapping paper. But it is no where near as many presents we got when we were all younger. More so the fact most of our Christmas List consists of money. :'D You can't go anywhere in the house without a decoration somewhere. Theres even Christmas stuff in the bathroom. XD; The Living room looked like a Christmas Tornado blew threw. The banisters have holly on them, the tree, the figures, the manger, the reefs, the flowers, canisters filled with Cookies, candies, fruit, and the candles. Oh my god the candles are everywhere. @[email protected]; |
Our family always celebrates Christmas but over the past few years it hasn't been that great anymore.
I think it's a combination of the growing up of the kids and the way the family is to one another. My family isn't the greatest outside of my immediate family and we usually despise having to go far away to visit them... |
We celebrate Christmas. I couldn't get my lights out this year because my husband works too much but, the lights don't matter. I can't wait to see my kids faces when they open their gifts, they are both in for a huge surprise.
|
yes, celebrating christmas, although I don't like it that much.. I love the decorations and giving gifts but... bleh. I have so many bad memories from christmas I'm just hoping it will be over SOON.
|
I celebrate Christmas ^__^ Now that I live with a lot of my extended family, it's easier to have big get togethers and drink lots of alcohol (which is funny, because I honestly don't like the taste of alcohol xD; ) -- and we have a lot of fun chatting and eating :3 And Christmas morning is fun <3 I love Christmas ^__^ Unwrapping presents is fun too :3 I mostly love the wrapping paper xDDD <3 And giving gifts :3
|
we celebrate christmas every year. usually our church holds this huge performance/ceremony but this year we're skipping out on that and going down to new orleans to spend it with my mom's side of the family^^
|
I celebrate Christmas! This year I'll be celebrating with my family like I always do. We'll be sitting around the dining room wearing pj's and opening gifts. I love Christmas because of all the pretty decorations that go up around my neighborhood. And this year it looks like there's going to be snow on the ground for Christmas!! I'm so happy about that because I love snow.
|
Edit.
|
I celebrate Christmas. I actually celebrate Christmas twice because my parents are divorced. This was especially cool when I was little because I would celebrate with my dad the weekend before school ended, so I already had some of my Christmas present when everybody else was still waiting for theirs.
Both Christmas(es) are different. My dad is clean about it. The wrapping paper goes into a bag almost directly after it is unwrapped. Versus at my mom's house there is wrapping paper everywhere under the tree for a long time after Christmas. Both are fun, there are just different. |
I'm celebrating Christmas, but different than most years.Last year was different too. Last year I slept in until about noon, because there was nothing to open, I got all of my presents early. This year, there will still be nothing to open, so i am going to spend Christmas eve and Christmas day at my friends because she has presents for me to open.
|
I usually celebrate Christmas with my mom and dad.
We get a tree and exchange presents, and that's rpetty much it. Christmas dinner isn't a very big thing in my household, since we don't really have anyone to cook for (even more so since my sister doesn't live here anymore so it's just my dad and I). Though, this year we're celebrating with the thought and spirit of Christmas since my family doesn't have enough to get presents, a tree, Christmas dinner and such. It's still nice though^^ I don't usually ask for anything for Christmas unless it's something I truly want. For example, I wanted a computer last year, so that's the one thing I received. |
Oh I will most certainly be celebrating Christmas!
I will be doing to my mothers place for Christmas dinner and will be with my family and partner. Then I will be going over to his place to see his parents and brother so that will be nice |
We celebrate commercial Christmas, not really the Christian Christmas. We would be drowning and tears and hissy fits if the grinch took our presents.
|
We celebrate Christmas. But the last few years have been... BLAH. We haven't done anything.
|
|
i so cant wait for christmas this year the family is not really getting big expensive presents because we are getting a wii and we just got a baby sis so that adds to the cost of presents
|
I am a celebrator of Christmas!
This year isn't going to be anything extravagant though. I don't know why but we just aren't in the 'holiday spirit'. Like, we didn't put up a tree or decorate the house. I personally am not big on that stuff anyways. I think when I am older and have my own family I'll do it. But, until then I am fine not being all.. Cliched. |
Well so far everyone seems to celebrates Christmas except for me.
|
X3 I celebrate Christmas! C:
|
I celebrate Christmas.
|
Christmas :D
My family and i are Roman Catholic, so we have dinner with our family on christmas eve, then go to midnight mass for the celebration of Jesus's birthday (yes, i know all my religions holiday and the fact that he was probably born in april. Who cares. We celebrate it this day) and then we go home, wake up, pray, then open gifts. And now, in 30 mins, we're eating a big feast :D |
