At the schools I went to, the English classes were always the same. They'd go over grammar tons of times, and spelling also. And then the next year, they'd do the exact same thing. It baffled me that there were still people that didn't know the difference between their, there, and they're and your and you're! It sucked so badly. I just wanted to smack people over the head and lecture about how they don't even have to TRY, they just have to LISTEN, and then they'll use English fucking correctly. And the only different math class I took was Geometry in high school. Dx All the rest of the classes did exactly what the English classes did. It was all a review over everything we'd been learning since sixth grade. D: And people STILL flunked. HOW THE HELL... |
I like my high school a lot, however because I live in a smaller community, we only have like 750 kids at our high school that we don't have some interesting classes that other schools do in our school board. Like astronomy, earth and space science, philosophy, and botany. As well, we only have grade 12 French every other year, and the same goes with grade 12 physics, and also with science and society class.

I go to high school in Florida where the government is obsessed with FCAT (Florida Comprehension Assessment Test). The teachers are forced to teach how to ace the test than actually "teaching"
I ace the FCAT every year, but the money never really goes to me. Bush focuses all his money on making the lower level students ace the FCAT. I'm in Gifted, and our money got cut as we are left behind in "No Child Left Behind" FCAT is stupid. I'm going to have a low score on the science this year because they test 9th science and I'm in AP Physics. I've forgotten a lot of basic science that has no use what so ever. Which punishes my score. My high school is an 'A' school and a new school, thus we have enough funds for seven periods a day. Most schools don't have the luxury though. Because we are one of the rare "A" schools around, we have an enrollment of 3000, with 900 in my junior class. That forced us to take away the technology academy at my school to cut down enrollment. The problem is that our school is the newest high school around. We have the best and newest technology. Contradictory, isn't it? I like my high school, because it's better than most around here. Yet, compared to other states... My newspaper class is probably the most ignored group in school - our own principal hates us. She knows full well that the school gives us not a single penny for our newspaper... yet she ridicules our articles and bans our paper from printing ANYTHING she thinks will reveal our school's ugly side... I'm lucky my school offers really high classes... it makes you feel like there's intelligent life out there. But the school discriminates you if you overachieve... I'm taking 4 AP classes but not finding tutoring anywhere for them. Hope school is better where you are. Florida sucks. |

As an American student, I would never be able to do that. I have poor study habits. @white12lily schools very from place to place, there are some excellent public school and then there are school like mine who have horrible curriculum due to low budgets. |
