I dont know why,but I dont like the smell of my dog, when he's done taking a bath.I like the smell when he has been fully dried, and is a bit dirty.

Im allergic to cats too,but I smelled my cat before. She smells good :3
(I get hives D:)

My cat smells like his food. D;

I need to find a way to get him to smell nice, without washing him. :/

When we kiss our kitties on the top of the head or whatever, they sometimes smell like shit, so obviously they've been having an affair with the litterbox before we smelled them.

Other times, they smell like Bath and Body Works. xD IT SMELLS SO GOOD. mmm~ sweet pea.

My cats don't really smell good or bad. The ferrets only smell bad when my stepmom hasn't bathed them recently(which doesn't happen very often).

I notice how people smell a lot more often. I felt really creepy one day because my friend left some of her clothes in my car and I was looking around for what smelled so good. :?

My male cat smells wonderful, sort of like how you describe. My female cats are a bit different, one is very fresh and clean also, but in a different way, and the other has a sort of weird smell to her, which isn't necessarily bad, it's just.. normal for her. It's hard to describe. XD'

lol, no. we don't keep laundry detergent out. he just keeps himself really clean.

My cats smell stinky. I mean, they do clean themselves sometimes. Not their entire body, but still. Though they do smell wierd. I guess it is a normal cat smell, but I don't like it.

wow what a random thread. well i have two cats. one you can hold and snuggle the other wont let you pet her with two hands or she freaks. ((both cats were wild as kittens they have issues...)) but the one i can snuggle always smells really nice to me. she goes in and outside sometimes she smells of dirt, i dont really mind that. but otherwise its a sweet kind of smell. the only time she doesnt smell good is if she gets rained on. kinda like the way a wet dog smells only not as bad.

fuyumi_saito 12-28-2007 08:20 AM

my cat smells way better than the dog XD that's all I know.

Not to sound immature, but the thread title is funny because it sounds suggestive to me. >.<;

My doggie smells.
My cat smells.

Cat food breath smells horrible. I can't stand my dog if he got into the cat's food because it smells so bad. D:

I spray my cats, dogs, hamsters, Guinea pig, and rat with that doggie collogue. I love the smell of it and since I cuddle a lot with my animals I spray them a few times a week with it. It’s peach vanilla scent and I think it’s one of the best smells. I don’t really need to spray them because they don’t smell anyway, but it doesn’t hurt to freshen them up a bit.

I hate how my turtles smell though. It seems like no matter how clean I keep their aquarium clean, they always have a smell to them. That’s why I don’t understand why anyone would actually buy turtles as pets. Someone dumped them off on me and that’s the only reason I have the things. My other reptiles don’t have a scent to them at all, except my frogs, which smell like tropical soil, which I don’t mind.

my cat smells, super good =D
my cousin too had suggested to put baby powder on him XD he's our baby 'boy' after all^^

I wouldn't be kissing an animal's head if they smelled bad, especially if they smelled like they've just rolled around in the litterbox!

Hmmm...It's been a long while since I've smelled an animal. OMG this is such a funny discussion.
Smokey usually smells like smoke and I guess that's how he got his name. I love that smell except if we're talking about cig smoke...it's funny because I can't stand cig. or cigar smoke...makes me cough and stuff...makes me ill....but somehow smoke from a cat's fur smells really nice and smoke from a fire can smell nice. I usually hate how dogs smell..even if they're supposedly clean they don't smell as nice as cats.

Anyway, yeah...if they smell horrible I'd stay as far away as possible but if our pets smell good it's nice.
And if they smell really good it's great.

I am not above petting or holding a somewhat stinky animal but I wouldn't kiss them.

Lol, I love clean smelling animals. I have a rabbit and two dogs, and they're scents vary. My oldest dog is the stinkiest thing you'll ever smell. We bathe her often, but she's just smelly. Been smelly since she was a pup. Must be a condition or something. My rabbit and younger dog, on the other hand, always smell good. My rabbit never gets a bath, but he just always smells wonderful. xD I dunno why.

I still love all my pets. <3

Our schizofrenic littlle dogcat.. (a dog with a cats brain) only smell nice just after a bath.. she usually dont smell to bad.. its just that sometimes when the whole family is lying in the couch she farts.. and it REALLY stinks.. man, that dog has a problem -__-'

Well, I have a dog, a little black and white Chihuahua.
She doesn't smell like laundry detergent, and she doesn't smell bad either.
She has that pet smell, but it's not a bad pet smell.
It's more of a warm, fuzzy smell.
But after I give her a bath, whooo does she stink.
I don't know why either.
We've switched from shampoo to shampoo but the smell is just the same.
She stinks after a bath. D<
But after her fur dries, she smells wonderful.

I couldnt help myself but to answer on this.

My cat is always changing her scent daily and I don't know how that is happening. Often she smells like parfum and really rarely she smells like cigarettes. The parfum is in the toilett (I have a seperated bathroom) and the laundry is in the bath. To both places she doens't have any access... It's really creepy.
