When you are sick!
sorry if the is a repeat topic.
When I'm sick I don't want to do anything or eat anything. Nothing seems appealing to me at all. Things that I would normally love I hate! It's weird and I later suffer for things. Someone could tell me that I'd won a million dollars and I'd be disgusted. Not joking, I'd probably tell them to go away and don't come back. then Later I'd be kicking myself for not taking that money! I think anyone would. So the discussion is... How does being sick affect your normal self? Has anything starnge happened to you while you were sick? Either you had a weird dream or someting just to wierd for words happen? |

All I do is drink fluids and sleep.

When I'm sick...it's pretty much a normal period of time. I hate to be really idle for long periods of time, so sitting around in self pitty doen't really appeal to me.
x' D I might be making it worse sometimes, x' D, but I feel better staying with a regular day. If I feel really bad from something like a migrane, then I'll sleep it off but broken/fractured bones, pulled muscles, strep throat, and the common cold are all no big problems to me. I'll take medicine or make sure not to over exert myself and let them run their course. |
Cough, groan, stay in my room, lay around and play videogames, drink sprite/7-up, gag over the taste of the medicne I have to take, eat popsicles.XD that's pretty much any day I'm sick.

When I'm sick I have really funny dreams along with my moodiness.... I have weird dreams as it is, but when I'm sick let the weirdness begin! SOmetimes my dreams make me feel worse because I'm often affected by my nerves!]

im sort of..the crazy kind..i mean, when im sick..im supposed to sit at home, lying down or such..but usually i wont..i dont like sitting/lying around doing nothing...usually ill force myself to get up( this includes accepting my friend's invitation to go out shopping eventhough i cant really walk properly )...this happened twice...but when i came hope, ill be half dead XD unless i really really cant get up, then id lay on the bed, but as soon as i can move, i will =)

When I'm sick, I take a lot of Wellness Formula/headache/sinus medicine, eat regular food, drink regular drink, do regular things...I usually have to sit up when I sleep, though, because of the congestion. But otherwise, just like normal days. :3 This is different when I have, say, a stomach virus as opposed to just the cold, but yeah.

Well, I think that I act as always. I just sit at home, don't go to school. And because of that probably spend more time in front of computer or reading. But it's pretty normal. Though I never sleep more when I'm sick.
Maybe I am more sarcastic and loud-mouthed, because more things annoys me xD But I don't notice that. |
I feel pretty close to what you descriped in your first post often. I don't care about anything, don't feel like doing anything, and even stuff that's suposed to be really fun doesn't make me feel any happier. I don't just get that when i'm sick, though.
Actually, when i'm sick I feel like eating more than usual. O.o And I really like taking showers when i'm sick, they make me feel alot better. |
I think it depends on how sick I am. I haven't been horribly sick in a long time but right now I am worried that I may have a cold or something 'cause my nose has been bothering me alot lately and I'm sneezing alot today.
I can still eat the stuff I like so it's isn't as bad as some times I've had before....I think I usually can't stand to eat much if I'm sick. One time I was so sick the idea of eating anything else but soup and crackers disgusted me. If I get sick...I drink lots of fluids, get plenty of rest, and maybe take some medicine. When I'm sick or on my period, I can't stand to do much even more than usual. :lol: I think having weird dreams when you're sick is natural. This is the first time though that I've ever read anything like "You could tell me I'd won a million dollars and I'd be disgusted." That seems a little weird to me. |
I know I'm sick when I touch something cold and it burns me. It's very weird but when I'm sick that happens - I can't touch anything cold because it burns so badly - I have to bundle up and I feel miserable. I also can't eat anything or I feel as if it'll come right back up. THis one time I lost 15 pounds from not eating for 4 days straight. My mother didn't know or she would have forced food down my throat - but even THINKING of food made me sick to my stomach. I hadn't thrown up for 4 years before march when i was so sick. But after I was better I felt good enough to eat and I ate SO much food lol - I gained the weight back lol

When I'm sick, I usually just try to ignore it. Making a big deal out of it only makes it worse to me.
The place it affects me the most is dreams. Most of my dreams are very unusual...in the sense that they actually make SENSE. They may be impossible in reality, but they have an actual sequence of events; each event affects the next, and all that fun stuff. When I'm sick...they seem much more dream-like. I had one where I was being chased by a giant bunny (like I said, I was sick!), then I closed my eyes and it turned into a normal, tiny tree frog. Then I fell off a cliff that hadn't been there a second before...and then I started flying. And...for some reason, I get these nasty nerve pains when I'm sick...with ANYTHING. Even just the common cold. It drives me insane. >.<; |
When I'm really sick (which is usually what happens if I'm sick at all xD; ) I can't eat or drink and I sleep a lot. My personality and likes don't change much but my god do I lose weight xD;
I become involuntarily bulimic when I'm ill xP This past time I had a virus and I couldn't keep anything--not even water down. I was put on a liquid diet and could only have a couple of ounces at a time. It reallly sucked. |
If I'm well enough, I prefer to go to work as I like to save my "sick" days for personal days. In the event that I am too sick and have to call in, then I usually just hang out at home, drink plenty of fluids, and take it easy. This usually includes naps interlaced w/ a smattering of movies and video games. If I'm lucky, my GF will take sympathy upon me and me some of her fantastic soup or other appropriate meal. Other than that, I guess maybe seek some meds to ease my troubles.

When I'm sick I'm really... mellowed out and I guess kind of down beat. Not really fun to be around at all, not really myself.

When I'm sick, I usually lie in bed, drink my medicine, eat my meals in bed. And occasionally get up, but not too long because then I usually get a headache, sometimes I read. But when I'm REALLY sick, like over 1oo degrees, I feel like I'm burning and I just sleep most of the time. But I don't stay sick for long [longest I've ever been sick was 3 days], usually the next day, I'm up and healthy again.
