So, as said in another post, I'm redoing my room. So, I have to go through all my stuff that's in there. I have a LOT of stuff. I'm such a bloody packrat. so much stuff. Right now, most of my stuff is art supplies, clothing and books. None of which I want to get rid of.
Do we need sporks here?

I love sporks! Everytime I go to Taco Bell, I like literally grab some extras and take them home with me! They are so much fun! ^^

I have plenty of stuff. I want to get rid of my old toys, clothes, books, and some misc. items. I managed to get rid a bunch of my stuffed toys to my cousin-in-law to bring back to her country for her family.

Yupps yupps!! SPORKS TO THE END!!
But don't worry, I'm a packrat, just like you. I still have stuff from elementary school, and by stuff, I mean stuff. I still have old scratched up looseleaf that I don't even need, but I still keep for ummm . . . I'd say memories' sake but I know I don't mean so. I'm either just really really obssesed over my stuff or lazy. I'm going with lazy.

- Sporks have their importance! What else do you use when you sort of need a spoon, but sort of also need a fork?
I've been sorting through things in my room as well. Things are a little crazy in my room since I moved back home from the dorms... I started sorting through some piles of art in the attic since I can't keep a lot of it in there anymore. A lot of it was just really old and starting to become a fire hazard, so to the recycling bin it goes! :lol:

I was a pack rat for a very long time, but eventually I slowly grew out of it, by just throwing things away. Things that I knew I would never need, but that I wanted to keep.
Sporks are good. There's a Christian artist named J.J. Heller who wrote a song called 'Spork' with her husband Dave. The only place that they have ever sung it is at our school and they regret ever singing it to us.

I regularly go through my stuff every 4-6 months. Pretty much full out clean up, moving furniture in and out of my room till I see it's fit and clean enough to sleep in again. Having a bit of a lapse lately since my boyfriend moved in my room with me but it's still mostly my stuff messing the room! Heheh

I am kind of scared to have to sort through everything in my room before I move out for school next year. It's a pain that I can only take 2 years of schooling at my current uni then I have to move. I am a major pack rat and it's going to take for ever to go through everything and actually try and get rid of some of it. I will probly just end up putting it all in boxes and bring it all :roll:

I'm a complete packrat, too. xD I know how you feel. What I do, is, I buy one of those big, flat, tupperware store containers, and I store all the things that I don't want to throw away, yet hardly use in there. And I either store it under my bed, or in my closet. =3

My mom makes me go through my clothes every couple months and I always end up getting rid of 2-3 garbage bags full. I hate getting rid of stuff but I have nowhere to put it. ;_; I don't even have a hamper so most of it just sits in this mountain on my floor.
If we ever end up moving it's going to be a nightmare, I think it would take a moving truck just for my room...
@ linkfreak131; I have tons of tupperware storage things too, but the hugeee ones. :lol: There's 5-6 of them piled up in the attic and one shoved in the back of my car.

Oh man, I know what you mean. I have so many clothes that I haven't worn in years and old broken knick knacks everywhere. I've actually gone through my clothes recently and gotten rid of most of them. I've been buying new clothes and I needed hangers. ._.; Now I just need to go through all this other junk. I seriouisly have old school notebooks from years ago that I kept because only half of them have been used and I think that one day I might need the paper. xD It's terrible. I seriously need to do some early spring cleaninhg.

I am a huge packrat. It's not so much that everything is messy, but there's a LOT of stuff that's here (piled against the wall), that I don't even want, that could easily be thrown away.
A couple of months ago, my mom and I cleaned the computer room (current location) and the living room out. We didn't even clean them out fully, just took stuff that was laying around useless and pitched it. By the time this was done, we had about 4 or 5 heavy garbage bags that were LOADED with papers and everything else that we pitched.
So yeah. My room isn't messy. Under my bed is, and so is my bookshelf. But other than that, not really. I cleaned it up and threw away some useless index cards I had (ones that I'd doodled on) and got rid of a box or two.
I also have some clothes and socks that don't fit me anymore.

I find that I'm a pack rat for books, I buy tons of books, I read them and then they sit on my book shelf. Now that my book shelf is full they sit on tables, and on the floor in piles.

I actually just finished sorting and throwing away some old school papers. I'm a packrat too, but not as bad as my mom and brother.
I need to finish cleaning my room this weekend because I start school Monday. I'm hoping that if my room is clean I won't get so stressed out from school(last semester I was a pain to be around because I got so stressed).

Oh God, I have so many useless things that are years old and I refuse to throw out. I don't know how I am still such a packrat after having to move around so much, but I am. I keep everything. I still have clothes from like, five years ago that I don't want to throw away. o_O I even have old homework papers?!

I hate getting rid of stuff, I just seem to be so attatched to everything. Even old projects from grade six I keep. [Well, that's mainly because I might want to use them again, but that's beside the point. xD; ] I generally only do cleaning of school things at the end of the year, unless I have a mass of random papers that are clogging up my duotangs.
As far as things go, I tend to keep even the most random useless things. I have all these rocks and marbles in one little basket, and I have a box of things from my childhood that have no value whatsoever or that I don't use.
I'm a bit more leanient with clothes, though, If something doesn't fit me, then I give it away.

XD Not alot of people knew what you meant by sporks...
Lately I've been a bit better with getting rid of old things. I got about 17 things that I never wear out of my closet and am going to take them to a resale shop. And over the past few years I've been slowly getting more and more junk out of my attic.
But I am still very much a packrat. I've got more junk than I need. Or even want.
Though I'm getting a new dresser, so I'll have to clean my room alot. And that'll give me the opprotunity to go through all my folded clothes and get rid of stuff I don't want. ^^

It's easier for people who've moved to be less of a packrat, but I haven't moved since I was 3 years old. Meaning I've lived in the same place for almost 17 full years. I used to have a hard time parting with stuff, but as I got older, it got easier to get rid of things. Now that my best friend just had a baby though, it makes me wish I'd have kept some of my old stuff ;_;

My God. My room is a disaster. I hate throwing something away for the fear that I may need it later. I have clothes all over the floor and on my bed because I always say "I'll wear it later".
What I need to do is get rid of clothes that don't fit/I haven't worn in a year+. I also need to sort through random junk I don't use anymore. And I have too many stuffed animals. D;
I especially need room because of Christmas. I got books that won't fit on my bookshelf at the moment and easels that won't fit on my desk or floor.
One could say I'm a tad unorganized. ;)

Last year I saved practically all my notes saying that I'm going to need them this year, but so far I haven't even looked at them once. ^.^"
So I plan on throwing them out.....someday....
lol, I'm just too lazy to go through my stuff and throw away all the things that I don't need.
