Seriously? You're THAT lazy?
It's now 2008 and the holiday season has passed. But if you look around carefully you might still see signs of holiday cheer. But, is it really that? Or is it the more likely possibility of laziness? I just walked past my living room and realized we not only have our Christmas tree up but the garland is still on the railing, the candles are out, and even the stockings are up. You could swear it was Christmas eve! Then I looked down the street. Every other house still has their lights up. The house on the corner is host to a homely array of twelve giant (6 feet+) inflatable lawn and roof ornaments. Spoon Feed: Is your street still covered in holiday decorations? Are yours still up? How dead is your Christmas tree by the time you take it down? Don't you hate the houses that keep their lights up all year round? Are there any other holidays that induce people to be lazy as well? |
We just took down our Christmas stuff today, I didn't want to but mother insisted~
I don't think it's a matter of LAZINESS, personally I just like looking at the lights. :o I'd keep them up year-round if I could. |
My street never really decorates. (LAZY!) But I already took my outside decorations off ( all 2 things of lights woo!)
My christmas tree was thrown away on the 28th. ^.^ It's kind of annoying when you're walking in July and see lights still up. there's this one house that makes a huge haunted house every year for halloween. and it stays up all year. So it's all dis-colored and moldy and blech. Thanksgiving! Omigosh! When I want on the computer my brother makes me pull the chair away from the computer and move him (Thank god for wheels!) He says every time, It's Thanksgiving and I am thankful that I don't have to get up all day. -_- and then :x <-me. |

 But yes, the lights can sometimes look nice. But some houses on my street have ugly ones. Or they never light them, making it pointless. |
We took ours right after xmas. (supposedly if you take it down before New years, it is bad luck. I never knew. xD. Superstitions these days.) I know some of my neighbors don't do it until February. *lazy.*
|
We took down our Christmas decorations like on the 28th or so. Our next door neighbor keeps her Christmas lights on all year round.
|
We never take down our decorations until January 6th aka little christmas or the 3 wise men day. It's also the last day of the 12 days of christmas...
|
I don't think that it is laziness I just like to look at the decorations. Not very many people decorate their house on my street and the people that did decorate their house for Christmas, well they already took down their decorations... well most of them. I never put up Christmas decorations anyways so I never have to take them down~ XD Anyways I don't mind people who keep their lights up all year because it looks nice in a way.

We didn't put decorations up this year because we weren't going to be there for most of December. But we did put up two sets of lights that we have yet to take down. It's not that we are lazy we just haven't had time to take them down since we got home.
Our street is very dark though there is only two people in our street who actually put up lights. I think most people in our street go away for Christmas. And I don't like when people leave their decorations up all year. It doesn't bother me though I just think that if you have the lights up all year then the meaning is just lost. Plus it doesn't look as nice when the globes get blown and never replaced. |
My grandmother started taking ours down yesterday. :(
|
I like the decorations we have, I don't mind seeing some christmas lights around still. xP Christmas lights in the spring, now that's probably laziness. xD
We have an artificial tree and it's still up. I'd like to leave it up for another week or so, just because I like seeing the lights. We've already cleaned up most of the presents, boxes and things though so we aren't completely lazy. xP |

well i dont have xmas tree , i dont celebrate xmas ;P i dont?..i lovee them, its prreetty~ |
Lol, yes my family is quite lazy. Our tree is still up but luckily the other decorations are done. I see a couple of houses still with the lights up. Heck some don't even bother to take it down ever and have it all year around.
|
My family always leaves stuff up until the 6th. Today's Epiphany, after all. :) Where I work, though, stuff was down before New Years', and when I live on my own, I tend to have it taken before January 1 as well.
On my end, it's mostly because my house is fabulous and I have to show off next season's decor. 8) |
We usually take our stuff down a few days after New Years. Leaving stuff up until now-ish isn't that bad...but I know some people who leave their Cmas lights up all year round. D: And a neighbor who keeps decorations up until March. DX
|
haha, well, my dad never decorates so he's lazy, so the house looks the same.
But my mom on the other hand usually keeps her christmas tree and decorations until her birthday, january 10th. This year though, she recently (a few months ago) moved into a roommate situation, and was considerate and thought maybe he wouldn't appreciate the idea, but actually, he says it's empty without the tree, there's too much space XD So, my mom will probably keep it up next year. But, it's not due to laziness, that's just how it's always been for her, she likes keeping the tree~ As for my neighborhood, nobody's lights are still up, as well as decorations. Maybe you live in a crazy town XP |
Oh my, I live in a city where there are at least ten houses that always have their lights up. It really is kind of annoying
We still have our tree up, but it's fake and nakie! However, we also still have the decorated wreaths on our doors, so..we are lazy. :D |
Is your street still covered in holiday decorations?
Not my street, but there are various streets around this place (the ghetto, really), that have their decorations up. Some places won't take theirs down till Easter, at least. It's pathetic and totally gaudy and blue-collar. e_e Are yours still up? Not at all. We took ours down on New Year's Day. Before then, actually. New Year's Eve. My mind really can't go back that far. @[email protected]; It was before New Year's though. How dead is your Christmas tree by the time you take it down? We don't get a live Christmas tree. We own a fake one that looks just as gorgeous, if not more, than the live trees. Plus, the needles don't fall off one bit, and it smells like a real tree, so it all works out nicely. Don't you hate the houses that keep their lights up all year round? I do, indeed. It's a very tacky practice. . . even if they don't intend to "practice" it much at all. Are there any other holidays that induce people to be lazy as well? Well, I should say Halloween. Some people around here leave their Halloween decorations out till it's time to put the Christmas stuff out. Hello -- it's been two months. Take it dowwwn~ |

I don't think it's laziness - I think it's prolonging the holiday season - we leave our decorations up for as long as possible. We just love the season - we love the feel :D
|
Me and my mom don't take Christmas decor down until mid January. Dunno why. We've just always done it. :]
|
|
We never decorate the house for special occassions, so we have no problem cleaning up all those thingamabobs. :D
|
Most people leave them up until like February. We took ours down today, my grandparents took theirs down like..hmm..December 31st.
We usually leave it until around mid January. So it's not like we're lazy. We just always leave it up till then. o3o It always gets taken down. |
heck, i've seen people leave it up until april! xD
