Stains!

I know this happens to every one, well almsot every one...

Imagine your sitting down, enjoying a nice meal or snack, when all of a sudden you notice that you got something on your shirt!

It jsut happened to me again, i was having some choclate covered pretzles for a snack and some of the choclate fell off and got on my shirt, which is white. I tried to get it off in the ladies room but it didn't help, it actually seemed to amke it worse. The most embarasing part though was that some of the choclate got down inside my shirt *eeps* but that was easy to clean...

Has that happened to you? where you alone or with others? How do you get the stains out after, or do they ruin your stuff? (i know i've lost a nice blue top to mustard once)

oh my gosh. x-x; i always drop stuff on myself when i'm eating. .__.

one thing you should ALWAYS carry around is a bottle of instant oxyclean spray. it's this really small bottle and it's pretty pricey for the amount that's in it but it works wonders. seriously, i got red jello on my white DS, the rubbery part and i put a little of that on, let it soak and then dabbed it with a napkin and it came right off!! :]

Titenya 01-08-2008 04:36 PM

cool ^_^ I wonder if it works on oil stains? those are the worst because no matter how much you wash the clothes they never come out... like from chinese food or wood polish... that old english stuff? i had to polish the wood here at work once before we had a conferance and i got some on the sirt i was wearing.. that was back in june...

You should try checking out brainiac on how to get rid of stains, last time they removed stains using lemon juice. :3

Edit: Also forgot to mention that they used water and vinegar to get rid of other stains. O:

wish 01-08-2008 04:45 PM

gah. i hate oil stains.

hm.. i don't know. i never actually used it on oil. :O but next time i will try!

Titenya 01-08-2008 04:46 PM

actually i got it out with lemon scented hand sanitizer... not sure how that works but it did so i'm happy.

@wish some times the liquid dish soap works on oil, though not as well on older set in stains. i've done that when i remember to try it.

It happens to me sometimes with food, but the thing that always happens to me is with toothpaste. I brush my teeth and then I'm walking down the hallway then I notice that I have a big stain of toothpaste on my shirt, and I'm already at school so I can't go home and change shirts or anything.

Titenya 01-08-2008 04:52 PM

ooh that must be hard.

Another one i get is cat food. some times i'm rushing to feed my Gina in the morning and i run out of the house and i have a peice of car tood on my shirt or coat or soemthing. it's horrible, because i'm self concious all day that i smell like cat food...

icey_paradise 01-08-2008 05:56 PM

My family has a really hard time with stains. It seems every meal at least one of us drops something on our shirts, or in my case, my pants>< How that happens, I have no idea considering I lean over the table to try and prevent it. *Sigh* We've started carrying around the Tide stick to get rid of the stain. Its funny, yet sad at the same time^^

Titenya 01-08-2008 06:11 PM

It hapens to every one Icey. my mom had a shirt we used to call the food magnet because every time she would eat she would get something on herself

Wynna 01-08-2008 06:16 PM

@Icey, I find that the Tide-to-go stick thing, doesn't work all that well, it only makes your clothes wet. Or maybe I'm just using it wrong.

The stain I get most often on my shirts is marinara sauce, if it's from pizza or spaghetti. I usually just wipe it off with a napkin and I'm okay. I've had some really bad stains from allergy-induced nosebleeds, though. Those I throw in the sink with some detergent or Shout as soon as I can, because otherwise they never come out, and I've got a shirt that looks like I was murdered in it. Ironically, the worst stain I ever had was fake blood on a light yellow hoodie. And I loved that hoodie.

If it's random and I can't get it out, I call my mom. She used to go around the house calling herself the Washing Wizard, especially after that time she got bright pink lipstick out of the entire drumlines' pants, about ten pairs of hideous white polyester gabardine.

@Phedre - er, car tood? Are the typo fairies attacking you today? Anyway, cat food shouldn't smell that bad unless you never wipe it off your shirt.

Titenya 01-08-2008 07:37 PM

My gina likes the kind with the little choped up peices in gravy that come in those foil pouches. some times the gravey is watery... my mom keeps wetnaps in the car so i usualy wipe it off with one of them, but some times i don't even see that i got something on me untill I get to work or where ever i'm going...

You know whats the worst when youre a guy? Eating yoghurt, then accidentally drip some on your pants. I had that once.. It leaves these white spots which look very wrong XD

I think I'm pretty lucky; I've never dropped anything noticable
on my shirt while eating. Maybe I'm just super careful or something. xD
I do drop stuff sometimes, but usually it's just things like french fries.

Yeah 01-08-2008 08:14 PM

I used to always get food on myself when I ate, not so much anymore but, whenever I'm cooking, I seem to get grease on my clothes and I hate that. I have never found anything that will get mustard out, I don't know what it is about mustard but once it gets on your clothes or anything else, it isn't going to budge. I use ERA laundry detergent and try not to use anything else. If there is a stain on some clothes, I just wet the stain, put a little ERA on and rub it in and then throw it in with the rest of the wash, works every time (except on mustard). It gets out blood and grass stain like a dream, those two are next to impossible to get out. I've used oxyclean before and I have found that it doesn't work at all.

Takuto 01-08-2008 08:17 PM

I always get grass stains. (I hate grass.)
Event just walking on grass gives me stains on my shirts. (crazy on my shoes and pants though.) It is not even like I am running or anything. It is just crazy, lol. I wish grass wasn't healthy or so important. xD.

Lol.. it's not only the worst for a guy.. If that happened to me, I would be ashamed if anyone saw it. What if they are going to think that some guy put it on there xD ..

Anyways, I always drop some food on myself while eating.. It's so annoying, it makes me feel like a baby xD

Titenya 01-08-2008 08:35 PM

well a lot of people do it, so even if it's embarasing we can all learn to live with it.

D - that must be hard for a guy.

i think the worst is when your in school and you spill like water or juice on your pants so it liiks like you peed your self.. you never live that down...

s w e e t 01-08-2008 09:01 PM

egh, i hate it when that happened ;_;
in my country, we wear scarfs to cover our hair..i usually wear light coloured scarf...
so, everytime we ( my friends n i ) went out..we'd go to eat at the same place..i usually ordered me, since i dont like rice.. so, i always have this stain on my scarf...its brown on a light scarf, its so obvious..ugh.

Ti 01-08-2008 11:49 PM

that must be ahrd, are you able to wash them out alright?

Muggles Running Amok 01-09-2008 12:12 AM

Agh! I hate stains! I have a sauce stain on my pajama pants from when I was eating a pepperoni pizza hot pocket the other day. It leaked.. : ( It was really good, though.

Enniel 01-09-2008 12:13 AM

i hate stains, but i bought some awsome shout! and it works pretty good at getting them out :3

toxicbby 01-10-2008 10:01 AM

earlier this week i was doing my homework & i was eating dinner @ the same time in my room. and i had my hulala girls stickers on my desk & i spilled chicken noodle soup all over them. now i have to ask my older sister to order them all over again for me

Titenya 01-10-2008 03:08 PM

aww *hugs toxic* that really sucks. At least it didn't ruin your homework (hopefully) When I was in 7th grade I spilled hot coco on an essay I was writing, it was too late at night to re-do it and I woke up late in the morning. The teacher was mad, but let me re-write it in calss, but i had to turn the stained one in as well as proof that i didn't change what I wrote.
