The main part of this house was built in the 1700's, but lots of bits have been added over the years and it's changed looks completely. In the last 30 years alone it's changed so much. We got hold of an ariel photograph from the 1960's and the place is barely recognisable from then.
There's been a dwelling of some sorts on our land since the 13th century. Used to be a farm workers house although it only used to take up the space that's currently occupied by our kitchen.

I live in a appartment complex made in the mid 70's. My mom used to live in that area arround that time and actually remembers them building it. it's kinda freaky...

Reiui 01-16-2008 11:33 PM

Mines is about 23 years old. :DDDDD

MasterChiefrei 01-17-2008 12:16 AM

Well the oldest house I lived in was about 40 years old and then we moved to a new house in 2000 which was built in late 2000. XD So it's now 7 years old and the place I live in now is around 6 years old.

Reiny 01-17-2008 12:20 AM

My home is not very old.
My family bought it when it was in the process of being built. My mom pretty much made sure she liked the layout and requested a few things be changed and then it was built!

That was approximately 22 years ago. :)

Sadistix_Love 01-17-2008 12:20 AM

Holy crap that's old! Me, I guess 20 - 30 years?

Heartbeats 01-17-2008 01:21 AM

Haha. I've never moved and my parents are the first owners of the house so ..

I guess maybe around 16 or 17 years? :]

my mum have told me once...but i think ive forgot...because when we were small..well when i was small, they used to move alot...
so i sort of forgot which house is how old ;__;
i think the current one is 20yrs old?..not sure..

katrtastropik 01-17-2008 02:25 AM

I never thought about how old my house would be butt... i'm guessing 14 years hehehehe

DelilahHeart 01-17-2008 02:55 AM

It was built just before I went to preschool. I remember going to the town house and my brother and sister found all the easter candy and I was really mad.

So the house is around 14 years old but I've only lived in it 11 XD hehe [i hate moving -.-]

Takuto 01-17-2008 03:09 AM

I live in a new apartment, so it is about 2.5 years old. My parent's house is around fifty years old. (they are trying to sell it and get alot of profit for it's age too. Stupid house deflation. xD.)

Akiou 01-17-2008 03:12 AM

Hmm... around 3-4 years. XD It's one of those new built cookie cutter houses. XP

Don 01-17-2008 03:20 AM

Personally I don't. My childhood home, I am not sure about. My home in Aussie is, well I don't know either. I cannot quite remember but I do know it was built.

Karine 01-18-2008 01:11 AM

My house is like, 10 years old. xD Not very old at all.
My family are the fifth owners of the house. <3

I don't like to think about the age of my house...

It scares me. You know how old houses have at least one dead person that died in it, you know? I don't want ghosts or anything floating around my house or kitchen ( I heart my kitchen ), just not comfortable.

I mean, my house only looks new because it's remodeled. The true age of my house, I wouldn't know, and I'm a bit afraid to ask in the first place. Scared of asking, haha....

Ashe 01-18-2008 02:15 AM

I was 2 or 3 when my parents built this house. So, around 12 years or so. :3

silent.assassin 01-18-2008 02:19 AM

Ehe, so most people do know the age of their house...Cool.

Ithir 01-18-2008 02:26 AM

According to my mom, our house is over a hundred years old.
It's small though. :(
But it's cool, this is the place my mom grew up in, and we've got a greenhouse in the back yard which has been around as long as the house has.

How cool!~ I wish my house was like...wait no. COULD BE HAUNTED....-runs away-

Ithir 01-18-2008 02:39 AM

Please, I've never seen a ghost in my 17 years here.
My mom only saw one, to my knowledge.
And she says no one that she knows of has died here.
^^
I'm safe.

silent.assassin 01-18-2008 02:51 AM

That's good to know! I meant my house though, I don't want it to be haunted. I guess it's because I watch too much Montel to begin with. And the HISTORY channel even had a documentary about ghosts, and that scares me...I'm over superstitious sometimes...I think I'm a madperson.

Ithir 01-18-2008 02:58 AM

xD
Just get into the belief that your house is only a few years old. ^^
Or that ghosts aren't real.
Either one should work.

silent.assassin 01-18-2008 03:01 AM

haha, thanks. But there is already so much evidence supporting their existence that I don't even know anymore. But there is always a chance of it being forged evidence...

Ours is about 100 years old and it sounds like it.
It always feels like a scene out of "When a Stranger Calls." No calling or anything, but eerie like that.
The doors open randomly, the floorboards creak, there's sometimes a quite unheavenly draft that comes at random times...and there are strange noises sometimes. They have died down as we have renovated the house more and more, but it still needs work and is still really eerie.
My cat opened the door last night just as I got up from my chair...Scared the crud out of me. The door made this loud creeeaaaaaak. And I saw nothing. Probably didn't help that my cat was black. ><
I laugh about it now though.

Tracy 01-18-2008 03:15 AM

mine was built, like, late 19th century.
it creaks at night. o__o
