I was just wondering, because I read recently that 80% of current housing in America was built after 1945. o.O

Mine is around 70 years old, built in the '30s.
Do you know when yours was built?

My house was built back in the thirties, too. Don't remember exactly when.

Mm... it isn't very old, I think it was around 10 when we moved in, so about 15-16 now?

It looks a lot older than it is though, it's just a boring farm-type house.

Cool O:

Do you have any interesting things, like a servant bell thing in our house? xD There's a board in the kitchen, which lists the bedrooms and if you press a button in one of those rooms, it rings in the kitchen, so a servant comes. xD

Funnily enough, my mum doesn't respond to it. D:

Damn thing must be faulty.

It's young for a house, old for the trailer that it is...I think we bought it almost 12 years ago, but no telling how old it was before that. @[email protected]

The one I live in was built around 1900, at least that's a fairly positive guess. Most houses in this district bear their building date in their facade somewhere and most dates range from 1890 to 1920. Most houses here were built in the style of Historism, Classicism, or Art Nouveau. Mine's somewhere inbetween. n_n;

There's still an extra stairwell for attendants/servants, but the access is locked now because the stair is in danger of collapsing. =o

I live in Germany, btw, in Wiesbaden. <- *links to Wikipedia entry*

My house is from the 50s; a classic American stone-front with brick and a teeny bit of siding on the exterior of the attic. :3
It's got a basement, too. We just finished remodeling that, recently. ^^
And that's about it. o 3o;
We have this interesting garage setup that I've never seen before - we've got a simple garage, but a small screened porch is to one side... Very odd, in my opinion. O_o

My house was built about 50 years ago or so. I'm not exactly sure, I'll find out later though. Most of the ho,es in my town are over a hundred years ago!

6 years old, exactly how many years I've lived here >.<

Of course, the house I lived in before this one will be more than twenty years old... I'd guess 25.

And yea, I do see a lot of old houses in the older neighborhoods. I'm currently living in a new neighborhood where there's new developments still popping up.

I don't know! I used to live in this one house though that was older than me, my mom, and my grandmother... It was ancient!

Also, at this other house I lived in, a farm house, the building wasn't very old but there has been over 7 houses built on that same exact spot where that house is now in the past 100 years! I think that would count.... right?
