There aren't any BlockBuster's where I live. I think there might be one in Jackson; but not here in the tiny little town of Etna. ;C

I have a card that I recieved when I signed up; while living with my mother near Boise. They didn't have much. All the better DVDs was always already rented out. So there was just no point in going there anymore.

I signed up with Netflix about three weeks ago; I like their service. I don't think they rent games, but I don't play games anyways.

I've been thinking about Netflix.

How long does the mailing take?

Jennifer 01-19-2008 06:11 PM

One to two days; though I guess it depends on where you live. I would imagine it'd take longer if you live in Hawaii or Alaska...not even sure if they deliver to those states. But I dunno for sure.

They were actually a bit screwy on my last shipment. They sent the DVDs, but never listed on the site that I had recieved them. I kept them for nearly four days too. I sent them back two days ago. So I'm guessing I'll be getting my next DVDs in the mail by Monday. As they don't ship on weekends or holidays.

How many can you get at one time?

Jennifer 01-19-2008 06:38 PM

Depends on the plan.

Check it out and find out the different prices/plans you can choose from. I'm currently doing the 3 DVDs at a time/unlimited a month plan. C;

If I may interject, Blockbuster is losing money, and as of summer of 2007, they stated that they were closing nearly 300 stores. Plus, their market value is under $500 million.

Sooo, I would start snatching up those cheap-o's quickly while things are hunky-dory, because unless Blockbuster Online gets big, they may end up going out of business. XD And I would move to Netflix, who are actually growing instead of shrinking, but that's just my two cents.

(Sorry, I'm a total dork and had to research it, because I thought they were having problems, and it turns out I was right. *loves to research*)

Only 300 stores? In the whole country????

Wow...

I would have figured alot more than that. x.x

And I guess I will. They have some really good/rare movies I should buy..

I'm one of those instant gratification type folks and though I have thought about Netflix, when I want to watch a movie, I want to watch it right then. It is because of this that we rent from Block Buster.

There used to be this great mom and pop store that had all kinds of fabulous movies but unfortunately they just couldn't compete and had to close down. Out here there is always the supermarket and their rental selection but that's only if you are in the mood for a B movie with actors you've never heard of :lol:

Er, no. I never said anything about "all" of their stores, simply that they were closing nearly 300 stores. Meaning, out of however many they have, they closed about 280, give or take. >_>;

Lucky. My blockbuster is full of mean college students.
I always get calls for overdues.

I once rented there and instead of giving back the movie I rented I gave one of my games and then when I noticed and asked them to give me back my game and I would give back the movie they never wanted to give the game back which cost more than $60,00 so, I never gave the movie back. <,<;

That has never happened to me before, but once I called into Hollywood Video asking for Party Monster, and the phone conversations went something like this:

Me: Hi, do you have Party Monster?
Hollywood Video Guy: He's not in yet. His shift starts at five.
Me: Uhh... the movie, Party Monster? Is there an employee there called Party Monster too?
Hollywood Video Guy: Oh! Someone here had a birthday yesterday and I thought you were referring to him. Let me check... Nope, someone has had the movie for a month and hasn't returned it yet. Sorry.
Me: Oh okay, thank you. And tell the other Party Monster happy birthday!

They do that a lot. It happened to me a lot of times. =D
