I think I'm getting old.
I realised today that I have been recently talking about the local teenagers with, um... rather ardent dislike. It's not as if I'm doing this for no reason, though. In the past few months, they've:
Rolled the barbeque down the porch steps
Egged the house
Stolen change out of my mother's minivan (this one made me go WTF)
Stolen my little brother's skateboard (which he shouldn't have left out in the first place, but still)
Harassed another younger brother
I don't even live in a "bad neighbourhood." It's not exactly an affluent street, but these are not poor kids. I live near three schools, and there are a lot of young children in the neighborhood as well... it seems like a very "family-oriented" area, other than this ragtag group of undisciplined teens.
Maybe it's just that I have more experience or something, but lately... I've been finding that a vast majority of kids (not even just the teens!) have had awful attitude problems. :/ I didn't grow up in the best circumstances, but at the very least I understand that the world doesn't revolve around me and I have empathy enough to not go around vandalizing property and calling random people "faggot."
Although, maybe that's the problem. Kids are spoiled, or unstimulated... bah. Anyway: what do you think about people in other generations, or your own generation? Noticed any trends, for better or for worse (even Aristotle said "kids today have no respect"... um, to paraphrase)?

haha aww. Don't worry, you're not old. Those kids ARE mean!
In my family, there's a BIG obvious gap between me and my parents. They just don't think the way I do, I guess. They believe that 15 year old girls should be thinking about jobs( ok maybe...) and a husband. yeah, that second part freaked me out.
But we're just different. Nothing too bad.

You're not growing old, those kids are just spoiled brats. There's some in every generation.
I'm fourteen, and I know a lot of people like that. It's pretty easy to get pissed off. Those are the kids you should call the cops on without hesitation.

I've been trying to catch them in the act (I actually plan on trying to scare the crap out of them, I look old enough to be considered an "adult" so they probably wouldn't harass me). We have called the police before, too, when we heard them wandering around outside, drunk.
Ugh, I just want to strangle them.
On a side note, I love your name.

I don't really know too many people younger than me. >__< But the ones I have come across seem spoiled and have no manners at all.
I have a huge backyard and there's some townhouses behind me. People always cut through my backyard to get there. x__x There's also a creek that runs on the left side of my house. People seem to think that my backyard is a park; they walk through, let their dogs poop there, play fetch back there, etc.

There does seem to be a huge influx of annoying little brats out there. Many kids my own age act like they're six. I feel everyone is just way too spoiled for their own good.

I think it's humorous now that when I was younger, my friend and I used to think, why are adults total jerks?
Like at the pool, if you splashed someone with water and they gave you a dirty look, the reaction was wtf it's a pool, if you don't want to get wet get out.
Now I'm the one at the pool giving kids dirty looks and acting like a crotchety old person. I live on a dead-end street with a school behind it. There's our street and at the end of it a set of stairs down to the street behind us where the school is. We had a problem a few years ago that everyone going to the school would walk our street instead of the street the school is actually on. This wouldn't be a problem by itself but they would leave tons of litter in all of the yards and you'd hear kids cussing while they walked down the street at 7:00 A.M.. They'd destroy things and go in people's yards. They'd also walk down the middle of the street instead of using the sidewalk and take their slow ass time moving if a car drove down. Eventually different people from the street called and complained so many times that the school made an announcement saying that the students were only to walk to school down the other street where the school staff could keep and eye on them coming in.
I get annoyed with what parents let their children get away with. I was walking out of work one time and this child ran under my feet out the door and I stopped really quick and kind of smiled. He was just trying to run and catch up to his parents and he was like four, no biggy. Then his dad turns around and goes, hey watch where you're going, to me. I wanted to be like, "keep your crotch dumpling on a leash." Which is a mean reaction but if he kept his kid with him the child wouldn't be running around underfoot. And he ran in front of me so fast if I hadn't noticed I probably would have tripped. Instead I stopped and held the door open. But with a father like that, the kid's probably going to turn out to be an asshole.
There was also some woman...
We had a tiny little top shelf in the store with VHS porn. It was at adult eye level. I'm 5'9 and I have to look up a bit to see it. Well someone threw a pokemon video on the shelf. Like a customer who was walking around with it and didn't bother to put it back where it belonged. This woman comes flying up and says, "I want to talk to your manager, I can't believe you carry pornography let alone that you keep it with a cartoon show for children."
I was like, "look lady, no-one stocked the porn with children's videos. If you have half a brain you'd see that was the only one up there so clearly some jerk tossed it on that shelve, it's not supposed to be there. Idiot."
She finally talked to our manager who moved the row to the office until she left and then put it back out when she was gone. Seriously, we let these people raise children. >.<

Don't worry, you aren't getting old.
95% of kids are just like that -.-
Too bad me and my friends who are the other 5% get kicked out of people's yards when we play homefree in the summer.
xDD?
But yeah, I DESPISE how some teens act today.
Oh wow, you beat up a church fence! Thats sooooooo cool! Every girl is going to want to date you now!

The ones in my neighborhood are not spoiled by any means. They have severely neglegent parents that are too busy dealing drugs and lock them out of the house. They learn stuff from the kind of environment they're in. The ones in my neighborhood only know how to make violent threats and steal off people because that's what their parents do. My next door neighbor caught their mother stealing from her house, and she had the kids with her. :/
They get called on by the cops at 2-3 AM because these kids are out in the neighborhood screaming. They're only about...six or seven years old now, and they've been doing this since they moved in, which was a couple of years ago, if not a little more. >>;
Um, I remember slowing down in my car to wait for one of the kids to get the heck outta the street, and she was about four or five, and she gave me the middle finger. D:<
Needless to say, my city is a big, pile of steaming you-know-what. Those people STILL have their kids (in fact, they had a baby a few months ago) and they keep dealing. I don't know when it was, but at one point I almost crawled under my bed and I shut off the lights so it looked like no one was awake because I heard screaming in the middle of the night by adults - they were threatening each other and banging on windows of cars and breaking them.
I don't even live in a severely poor area. The cost of living here is pretty cheap and you can get a brand new house for $200k and these are older houses in the $60-90 range. >>; Mostly old people or college students, but a few gang members and really backwards families move in here and it's chaotic.

You have every right to be frustrated with them and that's not being old. ><; If kids were stealing or desecrating my house I'd be pissed off too and go after them. Not only are they committing illegal actions but they're just plain retarded! If I caught them in those acts I'd beat them upside the head with a bat...Now I'm a little more violent than most but it'd teach them to stay the F*** away. I live in a neighborhood that looks like stuff of that nature would happen but so far it's just professional felons doing the dirty work. ><; *woman about two houses away from mine was recently robbed this week and 3 weeks before we moved into this house it was broken into. ><;*

Yea there are lot of kids that are extremely rude nowadays~ my family went to a crowded restaurant (where we had to seat ourselves) so we sat at three tables (5 people in a space for 6). Then these two ditsy girls scootle over and were all like laughing at us and saying that they were sitting there. My dad has a bad leg so moving around too much isn't such a good idea. Plus they were onnly 2 people can't they sit at the nearby table for two? Like why do you have to be so greedy and rude? What was the laughing for?
.__. and then they spent all their time laughing at us, like I should have punched their faces in ._. do they think their cool cause they drive a small BMW? I could run you over with my Mercedes Benz SUV bitches ._. spoiled losers!

What can I say? Kids these days are just bratty little f**ks.
I have little to no tolerance for mischievous brats.
All they do is TeePee houses, litter on the street, and throw eggs at houses.
They don't bother me, but man do I hate stupid people.
It sucks cause I'm 14, and have to look at these types of people everyday at school. :P

Well, I'm sure that all kids aren't like that, but it makes sense that the ones you see are. When I was little I wasn't wild like that, but I noticed that a lot of other kids were. The good kids were probably inside their houses or something.
I work at a store whos target group is kids, so I see a lot of them. There are a lot of them that are obnoxious like that, but don't worry, there are also plenty of good kids. That sucks about them terrorizing your house though. Maybe if you scare them enough, they'll leave you alone.

You got it right. Kids are spoiled. In fact I'm to spoiled, but not nearly as bad as all these brats.
I had most teens and I am a teenager. Grah.... No one ever vandalizes my house and my neighborhood is an okay New York City neighborhood. Anyways it could just be because my house is kind of scary looking. We have tons of trees and bushes.

I don't really feel old as much as I feel out of touch with people five years younger than me. They all seem like such spoiled brats, in fact most of the ones around here are spoiled to hell and back.
Around Halloween, when that new horror movie came out (I forgot which one, but I remember it was a popular one, and it wasn't Saw IV either), I was working that day and there was a horrible ruckus in the mall (I work at a Borders that's actually a part of the mall). It turns out there were hundreds of kids/teenagers, all aged between 11 and 17, and they were making a lot of commotion and fights were breaking out and everything. There was a lot of screaming and yelling and families were fleeing from the mall because they said it wasn't safe for their little children. The police squad was out in full force trying to round all the kids up and throw them out of the mall, but they weren't really doing a good job of it.
Of course, once everyone finally dispersed, half the kids went to the theatre that's basically right across a small street that goes around the mall. So the fights and things were breaking out there at 9-10 at night (the fights in the mall were probably between 6 and 9), and I remember hearing about that from the few customers that were still at my work, since we close at ten even though the rest of the mall closes at nine. I was so glad I was closing that night because it just seemed so dangerous.
I had to agree with my friend later on, though. That's the generation of kids that when I was a teenager, had parents that didn't even try to control or discipline them. And that's exactly what happens - they get out of control and they cause public threats. It's horrible, and even though sometimes I'll feel old, this just makes me feel shitty knowing that I'm an adult and there are parents my age making the same bad decisions with their kids that the parents of those children made. Dx

i'm a teenager and i hate teenagers. xD
mostly teenagers my age and older. i don't know. i find most people my boyfriend's age really stupid (he's soon to be seventeen). mostly the girls, too. they're all smoking and taking drugs and are pretty much all failing school. my boyfriend's smart, though. i won't even allow him to do dumb things like that and he doesn't want to.
as for most people my age, well, they're into drugs and drinking, too. they all try to act like the seventeen year olds that are already dumb as it is and they rent limos to go to parties and try to fit their boobs into strapless dresses. it's actually kind of funny to watch.

I'll be as honest as I can.
I hate my own generation.
Considering I AM a teenager.
I'm sick of these smart mouthed undisciplined -clears throat- 'little shits' of kids that completely make everyone in their age group look bad. My mom is appalled, I'm appalled. Why? Because a 10 year old said "Fuck you." to my mom. It was the most disgusting thing I ever heard. I HATE kids that have a good home-life and act like the rules for them don't apply. I grew up with no dad, no punishment for my actions, I was neglected when I was harassed constantly in school and I STILL don't act like that. =.= It's irritating with these little teens (my age) act like their life is nothing but turmoil. Even when they live in huge ass suburban homes, have a mother and father that support them completely and aren't divorced and they are STILL rude, obnoxious, and ungrateful. =.=

Oh dear, I feel sorry for you so much right now.
I have to agree with Snuffy above. These days a majority don't have much respect. Especially the guys who think they are "cool". >> Stupid media and teenagers. Hence, I heard these kindergarten kids or first graders started calling each other dumbasses while they fight over a game. Not to mention one is a little girl! What is wrong with people these days? A little respect wouldn't hurt. Ugh, all the drugs and prostitution I hear about can't help but make me look down upon some.

I think kids now a days are very spoiled. When I was a kid, I never would destroy people's property and I was taught to treat others how I want to be treated. I think part of the problem is parents now a days don't want to be bothered disaplining their kids and kids think they can get away with anything now.
I thought it was funny when a kid tried breaking into my house and I chased them out the front door and tackled them on the lawn. It was some kid that lived down the street from me so I didn't call the cops, even though I should have. Told him if I ever caught him in my yard again I'd kill him. I haven't seen him since and that was a few years ago.
I've also had kids break into my car and steal change out of it, which I don't get since it wasn't any more than $1. I also had someone break in and steal wine from my back hall. I also live in an upscale neighborhood, yet things like that aren't that uncommon since a lot of people from off the island come onto the island to steal things.
