Regardless it is a pretty cool thing to be able to experience.

You're right! Thats what the lunar eclipse is :)

Man, it sounds like it was beautiful! A shame nobody manages to get a nice looking picture of it. Ah well... I guess I'll have to wait 3 years :( I'm going to make sure I see it next time.

Sundey 02-21-2008 03:44 PM

I saw it! It was awesome.

d2hiriyuu 02-21-2008 03:45 PM

It was soo pretty. And I loved how red it looked in the beginning too. It was fun.

Angelin 02-21-2008 03:46 PM

So, no one was able to get good pictures of the lunar eclipse?

I was suppose to see it with my bf but the best friend of my bf kind of shared his illness and got sick the same day and he went to my house and said he was leaving early because he was feeling sick so, I didn't got to see the eclipse because I went to sleep early.

I wunna see some good pictures of the lunar eclipse. T_T

I just browsed a bit on google and found a site where people uploaded a few pictures. Some look really nice, some are not more the pinpricks.

Lunar Pics

Just click on the link below the picture at the top and it will take you to the rest.

I'm sure those photos don't do it justice, but some of them look lovely regardless.

So I was able to see the Lunar Eclipse. It was an hour earlier then I was told that it would be but the guy who stayed at the school last night after anime club to talk to me got a call from is mom telling him that it had started so I went outside to see it. I thought that it was awesome and very pretty. I'm very happy that I was able to see it.

LennaHime 02-21-2008 09:24 PM

I saw it last night...it was around 8:50 CST when it first started...cause I was walking home when I saw it. ^^ I would have taken pictures...but all I have is a shitty camera phone. >_>;;

Fox Paw 02-21-2008 10:49 PM

The eclipse happened last night for me. I was so excited until I relized that it was covered with clouds. I was so mad!

Hokuto 02-21-2008 10:51 PM

I saw the lunar eclipse. It was my first time ever seeing one. I heard on the news the next one is in December of 2010. Anyways, thankfully it was a clear sky last night so I got a pretty sweet view of it. Totally assome.

I missed the lunar eclipse because I was running a fever last night and it made me dizzy to stand up. There's a very good video of it here for anyone else who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzkIpCdL8zA

x__o;; I even looked up at the moon last night!! D:

My friend told me something about one, but I said to her: "no... it was just the clouds sweety"

Boy... do I feel stupid now. XDD It was snowy yesterday, and that tends to make the sky a bit pinkish, so I though when I saw the moon a bit redish, it was just the clouds.

I saw the lunar eclipse at three different stages last night, it was so beautiful! I went out and checked about twenty minutes after they said it was staring by me, and the moon was so bright. But it looked like someone had gone up and taken a little bite out of it, the shadow was deeper than a normal one!

Then I went out later and the moon was almost completely in the shadow and I swear it was the color of chocolate from my view. I was looking up and a moon made of chocolate, not cheese! :p

Soon after that it took on that orangey-copper glow. I really had hoped it would be more red like a blood moon, but it was still gorgeous.

When I went out much later and it was almost through the shadow I finally found Saturn as the left mickey mouse ear above it, and the blue nova star as the right mickey mouse ear up on the right. Since that is a really rare alignment, I'm glad I got a chance to see it in person.

Grr... I saw this message and I was going to watch it last night but then I got involved in watching Project Runway on TV instead and missed the entire thing! Stupid me... T_T

PayShi 02-22-2008 02:21 AM

I saw some of it. But I crashed >_> before it was complete... It was cool. <3 Kinda spooky!
I heard someone say there is suppose to be a Solar Eclipse in... August? Does anyone know if that's true?

dreamerice 02-22-2008 02:29 AM

I saw the lunar eclipse It was amazing to see, the reddish tint on the moon. There won't be another one till 2010

wuyarox 02-22-2008 03:30 AM

I WAS SOO MAD!!!!
I didn't get to see it!
I was talking to someone online.
And, they say, "G2g. Gonna see Lunar Eclipse now.".
I was like, "Hmm.... I guess that's a movie.. right?".
But, I couldn't ask because he just signed off right then. =[

My parents didn't tell me, either!
My best friend didn't get to see it, either, so I'm not alone. =P Her dad didn't say anything about it to her.

So it had some reddish tint and stuff?
THAT'S UBER AH-SOME!

I got to see the eclipse after all. It was still going on when I got out of work so I just stayed and watched it for a while. It was really pretty. =3

So. Are you gonna try and watch some of it?

o___O

For real?

Aww...I didn't see it...In fact, I think I was sleeping really early at that time....>__<

I wish I could have seen it. I've never saw any eclipse before!

Usukie Ichihara 02-22-2008 04:38 AM

over here it started at 7:40 and ended around 9ish. it was pretty. but it was also cold out so we just glanced at it every once in a while with binoculars and out the window. near the end we went out side and looked at the blood moon. it was pretty.

ruby_dragn 02-22-2008 04:42 AM

I kinda saw it. The blood moon part I saw for sure! I'm a little confused on how it worked though. Was the moon going through its phase thingy? or was there some planet going right between the moon and earth? Can someone help explain this? Although I thought it was totally fascinating, I was clueless and a little agitated on what was happening! And what does it mean too? It's wierd too, cause after the night and the lunar ecplise the next morning got lighter earlier....is it connected? I hope someone can help explain! please!

Jali 02-22-2008 05:08 AM

I heard a few things about it, but eventually forgot about it after a nice, snuggly, raining-outside nap with the hubby.
We were walking to the liquor store around 7ish, and our neighbors were standing there staring at something in the sky, and thats when I remembered, DOH. @@;

It wasn't as amazing as I thought it was ganna be.
It just looked like a crescent moon then no moon at all.
I guess it might be because I live in polluted Los Angeles.
I bet the sight is much better in less stinky and over populated places. :\

Well! Thought you might like to hear my Lunar Eclipse story xD

Pink-White-Chocolate 02-22-2008 06:34 AM

Holy crap it was sooo cool looking.

@ruby: The eclipse was because the moon was passing in front of the sun. I think it happens once a month or so. But yeah.

And also, there is a lot of pollution in the air in some places, so that's also a cause of the moon turning the blood red color^-^;

Of course, that's what my sister's boyfriend says. I don't believe it though^-^ No offence to him, but he really isn't smart at times.
