Oh, I love Monopoly!
It's a great way to evaluate people, because it can really bring out the worst in people. It's so interesting to me to watch how different people get competitive, how people work deals, who has the best strategy and business sense, who will or won't strike deals, all that sort of stuff. In a way, that part is more interesting to me than the game itself. <3 |
Yeah... I no play that game any more. Played it with my dad, brother, his girlfriend and it lasted 2 hours in a draw because no one wanted to sell/ trade land and so on. My dad ended up winning because he had the most money over all. Such a lame game though it was Disney/pixar edition XD

It's the best board game ever <3 We used to play it a lot, well when ever I could get someone to play it with me (which was surprisingly, difficult D: ) Lol, but it was fun. I was always the banker, weee! xD |

I got so tired of playing it i burnt all the money so i would never have to play again ( had to play every sat -shot ) Well nhen i was playing Yahzee ( or how ever you spell it D: ) I lost badly so my cousin was like "moon me" ( in stead of bite me ) SOOO i got up and mooned everyone xD I was real young but ..it still makes me laugh >D |
monopoly, it brings back memory..
i've not played it for such a long time..i missed it ;O i used to play with ALL my siblings..all 5 of them.. though im always the one who lose, but i actually love that game.. i mean, when i think back, our relationship was close.. but now, everyone lives on their own way.. >.<; |
Lulz. I finished my first Monopoly game about 2 months ago. My sister and I haven't played it in about 5 years, so just for the kicks and giggles, we bought it for like... 5 bucks at Wal-Mart; we ended up playing Monopoly for about 3 hours, and I won, fo sho.
It was pretty boring by the time we got to the end though; if it weren't for the giant bag of Hot Cheetoes we both had, we prolly would've quit after the first ten minutes. xD |
I try my best to stay away from playing monopoly. i have the game at home and i try my best to hide it somewhere that no one will find. one day monopoly, i will burn you, one day. =/

Monopoly is alright on occasion. We have a simpson's monopoly, so thats kinda cool. I had a star wars one growing up, and it was crazy. all 3-d like and such.
I don't think I always play to the end, we get bored after awhile. But we do get some good games going sometimes. We take it with us when we go on vacation sometimes, because you never know when you might just want to sit inside and do something for awhile. |
I have played monopoly before for four and a half hours straight before somebody won. The game takes so long for us in our house that if we ever dare play it we speed up the beginning of the game to get the ball rolling.
On example that makes Monoply go quicker is give everyone $5000-10,000 monopoly dollars at the beginning and hold an auction for some or all of the game pieces. Then you start off the game at the point where all the monopolies and spots are owned. I think the game is less fun towards the end because a lot of people who are already out leave or who are hanging on about $100 bucks and waiting to just land on a place and lose are bored and fed up with the game. I once played an extra three rounds dangling on a thread, all of my places were mortgaged so I couldn't make money unless I landed on park place or got a cool Chance card.. which almost never happens for me. And I had like $75 to my name! I was just waiting to die! |

I don't care how long it is, I always win at Monopoly XDD especially against my cousins. Dunno how...I miss my handheld version though.

Monopoly kills me but i love playing with my little sister, she alway sells me boardwalk ahah. and shes 16, you would think she'd learn by now. but it makes me very sleep cuz it seems to never end. But what makes monopoly more exciting for me is the version i have. i have the pokemon version and i love it ahah. it makes it a bit more fun.

I don't think i've ever successfully completed a game of Monopoly. I often start out enthusiastic... but after an hour it eventually turns from Monopoly to Monotonous.
That's when the flagrant cheating begins! I become a thief and saboteur, bringing ruin to all around me! :twisted: |

And whenever I did, someone got mad and the game would end before it went over two hours. Lol. My family was just impatient. |
My 5 year old beat my ex husband and I at monopoly twice...she bought up all the land on the first row as soon as she landed there. It's pretty cheap land but someone is guaranteed to land on your property. She didn't know that of course, but it worked for her.

You are so funny! ^^ I did love Monopoly. It was my favorite board game, but I too, dislike the problem of it being so long. Hmm... I remember that when I went to a shelter several years ago, I would always play Monopoly with the scary kids (with major issues o_O). They were so mean, and got all worked up over the game. They would get in fights over the game! It was so funny. I think I would laugh and then they would all get mad that I wasn't serious about it too. I just got so tired of it. They were all taunting eachother. How mean of your dad to irriate you like that. -_- Haha... that's still pretty funny of you to flip it over and use them profanity skills. xD It reminds me of how people get mad over pixels. It's not real, but people take it seriously. Heh... I'd lose it too if I had to put up with my dad for 3 hours. xD!! Quote:

I LOATHE Monopoly. It takes FOREVER and it makes me a very unhappy Fabby. I hate board games to begin with, and after about a half hour it just starts to get so boring... urgh.

It is an evil game! I've never finished a whole game because it takes forever. One time I was playing with my mom and brother during a power outage and I got so bored because we had been playing for three hours that I got up and walked away. They didn't ask why they cleaned the game up. I guess they knew I was bored.

I don't have the attention span to sit through a whole game. The longest I played was just over an hour before I had to get up and walk outside. I hate sitting still for any long period of time.

I have never finished a monopoly game. Maybe because me and my family have always played it wrong until recently, but still, it takes a million years to finish that game. Once, me and my three sisters were playing and it took us about 4 days to just give up on it. XD Good times though. =D The last time i played it was with my cousins on 21st of December last year. They're funny and very competitive. I love it! XD |
