I am most definitely a night owl, but I also function best on nine hours of sleep, which causes trouble. I can do alright on less sleep, but only for so long; I get worse and worse as time goes by, and I have to make up for lost sleep on the weekends.
If I could have my way, I'd get up in the evening, stay up all night and through the morning, and sleep away the afternoon. |
I can't function on 5.
I can function on 2-3 and on like 7-9, but nothing else. I like to stay up until 2 am then sleep until noon. |
I average three hours of sleep a night.
n_n Fun stuff~ Not due to insomnia though, just because I have too much stuff to do ;__; I usually sleep like.. ten hours if I'm allowed. |
Well I for one am not a collage goer yet but I still do not get much sleep I am one to draw and do homework (well the big reports) at hours like 12 and 2 then I wake up around 5 or 6 to get ready for school but thats just me. so 3 to 4 hours here!
|
I try to sleep from 11 to 7, because I have 8:00 classes EVERY DAY. ;_; But I need all the sleep I can get. I can barely function on 6 hours of sleep. XD
|
Ever since I started my junior year of high school this year, I've been pretty low on sleep during the week and on Sundays.
What I call a night with enough hours of sleep: Asleep at 11:30pm, up at 6am What I call 'the usual': Asleep at 2:30am, up at 5:30(to finish my hw) THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE SO MANY AP CLASSES - says my friend who asks me how many hrs of sleep I had everyday... Luckily, there's friday and saturday for sleeping. Ahh... |
I go to bed at 4 a.m. and wake up 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. xD I definetly need at least seven hours of sleep or I feel like a zombie and can't concentrate at all... Like today. I only got six hours. :'[ |
I totally just crap out then ext day without enough sleep. Unless it's the weekend or something, then it doesnt matter.
But I usually try to get to bed somewhere between 9:00 and 11:00. and then wake up really painfully early. Like...Anywhere between 7-8 on weekend and 5-6 on weekdays. I kinda wish I could be more of a nightowl, but without enough sleep, I shut down @[email protected] |
I've been a night owl for a while now and I think it's starting to show on my health which is why I've been trying to sleep earlier, it's working a bit, but I can't sleep too early cause I just...well I just don't like it. XP
|
I do that too! For some reason nighttime is the only time I can concentrate on drawing or finishing a chapter of the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess walkthrough. XD *needs to defeat the game still*
If I could find a job that centered around the night it'd work better since I like to sleep during the day and feel tired then instead of at night...course that probably means my hours are screwed up but I'm more of a night owl as well. >w< Usually I go a couple days without sleeping because I forget to do so. XD |
I don't actually need a lot of sleep. Strangely enough, if I make my sleeping time match up with my sleep cycle I can sleep for 2 hours and wake up and function.
Then again there was the month that I had killer headaches because I kept having to stay up all night doing homework for my classes. Because I had taken so many classes that semester. It was odd... I guess I do need sleep... *shifty eyes* Seriously though, I'm nocturnal during the hols. Or whenever we have a break from school. Well, enough of my rambling. I have homework to put off and sleeping to put off too! |
I can be a night owl, if I try. Unfortunately, I can't always sleep at like 2am or whatever because I always wake up around 6 or 7am. >_< I'm serious, even if I sleep at 12 or whatever. I generally sleep at around 10-11 on weekdays and some other weird time on weekends. It's always because of AIM or myspace, or some other crack-like website.

*giggles*
I run on less sleep a lot of the time. >< I'm a Graphics student in college and have a bad tendency to stay up tell around four or five in the morning working on different projects. Only to get up about six thirty or seven to get to school. ^^ |
Different people need different amounts of sleep to function properly. Though it is sanctioned that eight hours a night is what everyone should strive to get, I just manage to get seven a night, six sometimes when I am extra busy, and I function just fine in the morning. They say people like Benjamen Franklin slept only five hours a night, though I do not know if that is true.
But I find that people in high school and college can sleep much less and are able to function easier in the morning or bump back from an all nighter without much help from caffeinated snacks and beverages. When I was in school I could do all nighters and manage on as little as three or four hours a night a week straight when I had a lot of work or a big project or test due to study on. But I find just a few years out and working a typical nine to five morning job I need a lot more sleep to function well all through the day at the office. I don't know if it is my difference in age or the surroundings, but I get much sleepier in the afternoon or find it harder to wake up in the morning if I haven't gotten my seven hours of sleep. |
No it is quite common actually ^_^
I believe sleep is for the weak. |
I have to have my sleep. I get very very grouchy without it. I'd be asleep right now if it wasn't for the fact I'm waiting to take Nyquil (stupid flu-bug). I just can't function properly without sleep.
My sisters on the other hand, they exist on air and caffeine I think. :) |
I never get enough sleep. I stay up all night and usually sleep about 6 hours... Last night was the worst, though, I only went to sleep at 5 am and I woke up at 8. So I only slept three hours! But I don't feel sleepy at all.
I'm studying in an open university right now but I remember when I was in high school how I sometimes slept like two hours a night and I wasn't even feeling sleepy then, only hyper. xD But I did need a longer sleep the next night, though, or I would have slept at classes otherwise. |
I have been working on 4 to 5 hours of sleep two times longer then most of you have been alive. I have never needed more unless I am hurt. When I was in College it was the same, and during the war I couldn't sleep either, so you are not the only one who does not sleep much.
|
I need 10 hours and then I'll be fine. Otherwise, I drink five cups of coffee at work and pound a Red Bull and then it'll be fine. Just... Fine.
|
I actually do get tired with lack of sleep. But I guess it's on how used you are to it. Once you're body adjusts on getting 5 hours of sleep a day then it will take it as a habit and it will not complain no matter how late you sleep next time.
But sleeping five hours a day shortens life span. It had been studied. So I advise you sleep more. You might be enjoying it now that you're young but you'll regret it when you get older. (It's true. I'm not just scaring you) |
Well I'm meant to go to sleep at 11am, but I find myself reading or drawing until 1-2am and I get up at 7am. ._.; I end up falling asleep in class sometimes but there's just no actual way for me to go to sleep at anytime before 12 since I lost one of my favorite CD's that would send me to sleep almost instantly.
That and I recently got Zebra finches who like to be noisy until midnight so there really is no hope for sleep. XD |
You can sleep when you're dead to be sure, but chances are you'll be dead alot quicker if you never sleep :P
|
I usually run on only 4 or 5 hours of sleep, not becuase I have a lot to do, but because I put off going to bed till I'm about to pass out.
But on the other side, when I get a day off I can sleep up to 15/16 hours D: |
Well, you know, that at first it depends on a person itself. Some poeple have enough of 5 hours and some need all 8 for a good sleep. I concider myslef to the second cathegory. I can't sleep few hour or else Iam unable to work well or I'm sleepy all day long, what actually sucks.
But I totally agree with you about this thing, that sleeping so much - means losing our presious time T__T |
When I was in school (jr. high through college), I regularly lived on 2-5 hours of sleep a night during the week. Then, I would sleep most of Saturday to catch up for sleep lost during the week.
I did just fine like that for a long time. I sort of functioned like that shortly out of college when I was working, as well. As long as I kept drinking water all through the day while I was working, I was generally fine. When I got married, though, I instantly became old. I have fits of insomnia where I can't sleep more than 30 minutes - 4 hours a night, and sometimes those fits last for weeks at a time. Once they wear off, though, I generally go back to sleeping about 6-9 hours a night. Sometimes I sleep as many as 14 hours at a time, but that generally doesn't happen unless I'm sick or close to getting sick. |
